The server that hosts ftp.skydivingmovies.com appears to be having some emotional issues. I'm going to have to wander accross town tomorow and do some maintenance, it seems. If it doesn't work, just try again. Keep trying, it will work one of the times. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

So you got through the entire AFF part of your program without failing a single level? Kick Ass girl! That's better then most! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

This reminds me. I saw one guy this weekend do a cross country, not only did he take two of his favorite beverages with him, he also took a cheeseburger. Some people... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

0:7:0 My second weekend of jumping since Rantoul. I spent all weekend on the good side of the force, doing larger sequential RW jumps. The smallest I did was a 10 way, the biggest 16. The jumps on Saturday were awesome, the fewest points we got was 4, which I think is pretty cool for a group that was put togeather ad-hoc. The jumps on sunday generally sucked ASS, we attributed that to all being hungover from the usual Hinckley bonfire. I ended up packing it in on Sunday because of high winds, anyways. Almost got a number in the first column, but we won't go into that... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'm all out of coffee at home, so I'm drinking my morning Coke. On the lighter side, as soon as I become consious, I'm packing my stuff and heading to the DZ. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

True, but Eloy is just as cheap, IIRC. Last time I was there was their labor day boogie, jumps were $12. There's not yet much about the christmas boogie on their webpage, so I dunno what jumps will be... I imagine they'll be cheap. Besides, I'd take the lift capacity of 3 otters, 2 skyvans, a dc3, porter AND a king air, over just a king air. Plus, you get to hang out with Betsy. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Carrie, that looked like a lot of fun. I can't believe you guys went into public like that.... You must've been a 'hit' with the townsfolk. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

$825 according to this page: http://www.skydivesupplies.com/cypres/default_cypres.htm Which isn't surprising. The US dollar is slowly coming back down to a normal level, imported goods will get more expensive... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Why not just attack the mudflap with a stich-ripper? It's not like the mudflap is of any structural significance. It should be legal too, cause I doubt very much that the embroydery is part of the TSO, nor do I think removing it would be considered a modification to the rig... thoughts? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

??? It IS porn, and that's one of the things that makes it so interesting, the dichotomy between porn and capital "L" literature. There's an excerpt from the second Beauty book I was tempted to post, because it is more pornographic then a typical "letter" to penthouse. I decided against it, it's over the top even for here, I think. One of the things that makes part of this genre so interesting is that for the most part porn is poorly written, when it's a movie it's invariably poorly acted and poorly directed. When you take the genre and have it written by a skilled mainstream author it gives it credence, not only making it respectable to admit reading, but elevates the genre to something that is WORTH reading. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I like the powertool because you're not wrapping the pull-up around your fingers when you finally close the rig. More then once after a normal pack job I'd be bleeding from my cuticles cause I held the pull-up in the wrong place when I really leaned into it. More often though, I'd just tear up my fingers. When I pack, which is rarely cause I'm a yuppie skydiver, I use a powertool. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I was thinking the exact same thing... Tieing anything off to the slider just seemed like a bad idea to me, possibly encouraging a slider-up mal... The individual in question certainly has a hell of a lot more knowledge then me, he can do what he wants with his main. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Atair only makes their prototypes in size 95, I think. Erid looks like a big guy... Probably weighs about 230 plus gear... sounds to me like a 2.6ish wingloading. But that's just a guess. Personally, I'm more excited about the airlocked/crossbraced thing Brian Germane is coming out with. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Yeah, one of the most interesting books I read this summer, for sure. It gave me a whole new take on both Anne Rice, and Sleeping Beauty. Bills right, Kusheils Dart and Kusheils Chosen are also good similarly themed books. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Well, here's the first report I've seen. This one out of the mouth of the German Justice Minister, as carried on Associated Press: http://www.salon.com/politics/wire/2002/09/19/hitler/index.html _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Clearly, all true. Clearly, this is debatable. You really need to step outside of your SDC dogma once in a while. The populariy alone of tailgate exits make the skyvan and casa two of the most popular jumpships in skydivers minds. Skydivers DROOL over a c-130. There's a point in this sport where we overlook some degree of safety for fun. Tailgates are an example of this. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'm not terribly "in the know", but I do know that exiting from a door that's in FRONT of a wing would have a high risk of impact with the wing. There's a reason we always exit behind the wing. Secondly, jet's are a hell of a lot more expensive to maintain then turbo-props, from what I understand. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

In the US, according to USPA BSR's, students can't jump in winds over 14mph, but this regulation can be waivered for individual DZ's on a case by case basis. If this were to happen, a different wind limit would be established. Licenced jumpers can jump in whatever winds they want, provided they'll find a pilot that'll fly. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Oh yeah. I'd be there with bells on. My favorite quote from the article: "There have been no close calls, near misses or injuries in any of the jumps". Funny. Everybody see how close Living Room #2 landed to the ground crew in Good Stuff? Or when Joe impacted with the car in freefall? Scary, but funny. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
