Terry, the TM, is a vidiot. He ALWAYS knows where the camera is. steveOrino

Foe most people, there are no "right" words to say at a time of mourning. Few things said will take away the pain. The ministry of "being there" is far better than words. steveOrino

First Time Traveling with Rig !!!??
steveorino replied to skygypsea's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I carried mine on to Cancun in a gear bag. No problems what so ever. I did NOT have a cypres. (Your experience may differ) On the way back the Mexican authorities wouldn't let me carry on my helmet and camera in the gear bag. They made me check it -- go figure. BTW If you have a cypres, be sure and carry the card that says what it is. steveOrino -
One the first jump of a HALO class I was slotted to attend (that's another story) while in SF, had a guy go all the way in. This was 1979 steveOrino

One great advantage of knowing her personally. I have added some eye lashes. She is a beautiful lady. steveOrino

I hate to admit I'm clueless to how to post on her "mypage." If you can do it -- feel free, or PM me and tell me how. steveOrino

See tribute on DZ comic link below. I remember when I sketched her for DZ comic, I told her I thought the caricature didn't do her justice. She replied, "Steve, you are such a charmer."

I'm so sorry for y'alls loss. steveOrino

naked? In my best George Costanza voice. "I was in the pool, I was in the pool!" Elaine: "It shrinks?" THAT would NOT be the way I'd want to remember my 1000th jump! steveOrino

yeah, all the above, plus another source of light as the sunlight bounces off them.

an AFF1 dive late in the day. Interesting light. steveOrino

Clinton and Bush, Sr. are Fairly Buddy Buddy
steveorino replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I think Bush SR. is the father figure Clinton never had. steveOrino -
but YOUR reply is NOT helpful or accurate. BillVon already explained why it is a bad idea. I was simply adding my 2 cents in agreement. You said it was a good idea for vidiots. Are you a vidiot? How many jumps with camera? WHY is it a good idea, apart from the idea you THINK it will save your neck? Most working vidiots need the ability to look up for the shot. The restrictive collar would be inappropiate for more reasons than Bill gave. steveOrino

Yes, it is a bad idea. steveOrino

Confusing windsock direction and landing downwind
steveorino replied to sjc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I never misread a sock, but I have failed to read one, once. Early on (less than 50 jumps) I made two jumps in a day and the wind direction switched 180 in between (Okiehoma). I landed so fast I had two points of contact ... feet ... head. I walked away from that one with a limp. steveOrino -
Call USPA, and tell them your USPA # and they will tell you your A #. Sometimes it takes a while to get your card. At least that way you'll have your #, if not the card.

in some ways, yes, but I never say I am correct, simply because my beliefs have not remained static. Again, it was said tongue in cheek. You guys are too serious at times. You need a hobby, why not take up skydiving? steveOrino
-
Get you a SIMS (Skydiver's Information Manual) or download one from www.uspa.org BTW - that can't be your A # -- who you foolin'? steveOrino
-
Tink: I was speaking tongue in cheek, but what I meant was you both think you are "correct". steveOrino

fixed it for you. steveOrino

Does Pat Robertson ever shut the hell up?
steveorino replied to niolosoiale's topic in Speakers Corner
Whose listening to him? He is on Religous TV. I haven't seen much of him on anything else. steveOrino -
Then you and Fred Felps have something in comon. steveOrino

SKYDIVING FAME: 15 seconds, yeah right. 1.5 seconds actually. I videoed Tanya McQueen's (Extreme Makeover:Home Edition) tandem into the dream home she helped design. Their editors managed to edit every bit of me out except my laugh, tanya saying "Bye Steve" as I climbed out of the cessna, and a 1 second shot of my canopy in the air. To make matters worse, there was a tornado warning during the showing (this is Oklahoma ) and they covered the credits with storm warnings. steveOrino

Another good idea, although with flying videos, I may not be able to make sure it (1000th jump) arrives at sunset. It would be cool if it did. Thanks Karen, great idea! steveOrino
