I can only comment from my own recent experience and the advice of my new vidiot buddy. (he has 9000 jumps, so I guess I can learn from him ) The clips on the inside of the thigh make my wings a little stiffer and let less air spill between the wings and my suit. That is a good thing when you weigh 225# and the TM and tandem student don't weigh that combined. steveOrino

Good choice. IMHO steveOrino

Apart from military jumps back in 1977-1980, I began again at age 46. Life is to be lived at ANY age. Welcome to the skydiving community and to POPS (check POPS out)! steveOrino

I jumped them yesterday (Friday) and it worked great! Lots more lift than previous. I wish I'd known this before! BTW stevephelps is now steveorino -- sorry for any confusion. steveOrino

From one (ex)Airborne dude to another! Welcome! As you progress in the sport the stand up landings and accuracy will become easier. Student rigs typically have longer break lines and do not flare as well. It will keep a student from stalling the canopy and dropping like a rock from 20 feet +. But awful hard to stand up at times. It'll come! steveOrino

I can hear/read it now. "I'm not going to be shooting tandems or AFFs, I only want to record my dive. What is the harm in that?" Well, THIS is a good lesson to those who will heed. steveOrino

Call me a romantic, but I'd like to think he got away with it. Maybe not all the money (he either lost some or all of it -- or even planted some as a few bills were found in a sand bank. However none were ever found in circulation) Back in 1980 I thought about drawing a cartoon strip about DB cooper and have him wear those funny looking glasses, big nose, mustache disguise with an inept FBI always on his tail -- ever so close, but never gets his man. Now that I think about it, he'd be a good character for my cartoon DZ. steveOrino

www.steveorino.com explains one, but I will think on the other. steveOrino

So are we saying it is a bad idea to change my screen name? steveOrino

I'm not trying to be secret, but I simply don't want my real name posted on the forum. No problem if they want to look at my profile. steveOrino

Yeah, I know. It is not a secret, but I don't want my real name as ascreen name. Make sense? No? steveOrino

In order to keep my real name more private I changed my screen name from "stevephelps" to "steveorino". Anybody else do that? What was your old screen name? steveOrino
