Texas may have executed innocent man
steveorino replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
You make it out that the victoms can only seek revenge and not justice. Obviously, they can seek either. Seeking revenge will gain them nothing. Seeking justice helps bring closure. THIS WAS MEANT FOR PREVIOUS POSTER -- NOT THE ONE I REPLIED TO. (sorry for shouting, but I wanted to make that clear) steveOrino -

execution for a capital crime and murder are simply notthe same. Although that is simply my opinion, it is also the opinion of the US court system. Using your same logic; would it be wrong to fine a person for stealing? steveOrino -

Why does someone NEED to die? Does revenge help at all? You're confusing revenge with justice. The families that cried out for Timothy McVeigh's death were not seeking revenge, but justice. steveOrino -

Bingo! We have a winner! My sentiments EXACTLY! Well, that's OK then, as long as you are cool with the possibility that you kill an innocent person. NOTHING is certain in a jury trial, so a possibility remains in many verdicts. . However, I'm comfortable with our system of justice. steveOrino -

For what you are doing, what would be wrong with a HC20? They go for $150 on Ebay. steveOrino -

When I lived in Alaska and would take groups skiing we would always watch Warren Miller before we go. That would get everyone pumped! I miss being 30 minutes from a Olympic quality ski lodge. I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. steveOrino

Relax, don't plan anything else that day unless it is an informal get together with your whuffo friends to show your video. That way if you are delayed for any reason there will be less stress. ENJOY! Let us know how it went! steveOrino

Well, maybe I should explain my little miracle happened in 1984.

Yes, I do, but Billvon made a good point, a lot depends on perspective. I have a perspective that when my wife accidently drove over my 11 month old son (he had tire tracks across his sleeper) and the doctor couldn't find a bruise or a broken bone, or a damaged internal organ that a miracle happened. He did find a lot of indentations of small pebbles from the gravel we use to salt the roads in Alaska, but that is all. Today that "little boy" (6'1") is going through Special Forces training steveOrino

We had a deep fryer for just that. We used peanut oil. It tatse great, but after a while it is a pain. I mean how long do you store the oil in the pot? After you decide to toss it ... where? Its a lot of oil. So I prefer my turkey cooked that way, but I want someone else to do it, so I don't have to clean up. steveOrino
