  1. A great man once sayd: Fighting on an internet forum is like competing in the special Olympics; Even if you win...You're still a retard! James Boole also had a good one involving a swimmingpool and pee...but I forget the details on that one and just remembered the (to my 7 year olds mind) funny bits... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Neeh..just get a job in animation..having roughly an hour spread out through the day waiting for 3d renders is perfect for dz.com spamming... Packing my wingsuit/rig atm and off to the dz in about 6 hours JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Did I already mention the "FlyLikeBrick Accelerated Rating Training" (F.A.R.T.) program we are going to start teaching soon? We'll have two different ratings available (number one and number two) Anybody want one? Its a 5 day training program, unless you're a friend and we got drunk at a boogie a while ago..then you'll just get one for free.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Yea baby....dz.com old-school crew.. We should have badges... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. From what I got, Loic was planning to land on the glider-wing (as a follow up to this stint) but his back/pelvis injury kinda put a break of things for a while... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Im not complaining about free stuff at all...far from it. Im 100% pro give-away-sponsor stuff, and merely wanted to show Denis that every single thing in skydiving is based on sponsors/companies promoting their goods and it makes the world a better place. Without my sponsors I also wouldnt be able to do a lot of the things Im doing now. But Denis somehow seems against this whole concept, and chooses to rebel against people wanting to offer a free (in his eyes promotinal action) fun service for people wanting to fly.. We can guarantee that 100%, because everyone using PPC is able to send an email to the site admins in case there is a weird or un-acredited track in their name. If you see a weird track under your name, it only takes one email to correct. Which is also what happened with you 'test', which is there under your own name...so far no problems? (besides you costing people a lot of extra work) We're offering a friendly and fun way to monitor your own performance and compare it to what others are doing. If you want to cheat, sabotage and annoy others...feel free to do so..but whats the use? Depending how people like it, this site may/will grow in the future, and maybe offer more things like profiles/login etc. But for now...enjoy whats offered (for free) or just go to trackingderby.com and enjoy yourself there... 7. Ive seen that happen in some folks..we call it instability...nothing a thousand jumps wont fix though JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Picture from over a year ago...but you dont see me without a wingsuit that much these days JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Would rock to build a 10/15-ish round with the belly-to sit transition, and getting a few hard-core skilled mutha's to fly in and do normal sitflying docks and build some stingers, so you get something cooler than just a circle...and you could still have the mixed-bag of skills around to do this.. 10. - Good stuff had the first (non-wingsuit) plane 2 plane jump that Greg Gasson did (into a micro-lite, with a drogue). I think this segment is in Good Stuff (Joe Jennigs awesome video and DVD) - It was repeated twice with a crew of 3 later-on. Greg, Omar and another guy who's name I cant remember. This is an extra feature/video on the DVD of Good Stuff. Snippets of all these plane to plane jumps can be seen in this youtube video that same DVD has some awesome long-lens shots of Patrick flying his wingsuit...looks amazing..the style and grace in his flying are rarely seen in todays flyers - Greg did the plane2plane jump another (3d or 4th) time for the Discovery Channel There are also quite a few videos online and offline on freeflyers tracking/diving (and even docking) on Pilatus Porters in flight. - I seem to recall Jeff Corlis did some attempts at this stunt in preperation/training for his 'landing' (lets not go into that subject here..I know some people get a cramped up anus from just hearing his name). At rougjly 1:40 into this video you see some snippets on that stunt. Patricks flight back into the plane is the only drogueless (succesfull) attempt, where the airplane is actually flying (instead of the plane joining the skydivers in freefall). 11. Everyone can be a paralog user without having to pay a single penny. The site fully works with the free demo version of paralog... No..the existing software enables us to skip a HUGE section in programming and setting up a website like this. And that Klaus is getting some promotion and thus maybe one or two new users of the fully licenced version of the software as a thank you for the TONS of hours both he and Costyn invested in this website...I think that promotion is more than justified..though definately not the reason behind all this. If you are against promotion activities I suggest never attending a single boogie again...as those are always big shameless promotional actions for manufacturers...the recent competition in Germany was a Phoenix Fly promotion..Cochstedt was the Altimaster-screen-protector boogie etc etc. Again..the software is (for the people setting up this website for people like you..for free) only a way to save us from doing a ton of programming again, that Klaus already did in the past and incorperated into his software. That sayd...I think a lot of skydivers are quite hypocrits in these matters (myself included) We EASILY spend 100 to 150 euros per day jumping out of airplanes, yet bitch when we have to pay 50 euros for a piece of software we can to use for many jumps (and again..you dont even HAVE to buy it to be able to use the website/comp). Its called PPC, which stands for PARALOG Performance Competition..dont see why we'd want to do this without Paralog You just named your solution...trackingderby.com...enjoy that one.......if you think they are doing it for free..invite them to your dropzone for a good laugh And why complain about use of the software...why not complain about the use of a GPS..those things are expensive..cant we just do it dz.com style and just tell people we flew 17 miles of distance on our last jump The short version..paralog is an essential part of making this site work...use or it dont use it...but dont waste Costyn or Klaus' time by emailing them a dozen reasons/alternative ways to make this work.. Just enjoy the effort people are putting into this...nobody is asking you to spend a single euro if you dont want to.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. These are (post) rendered slowmo's. Not as good as the real thing, but good fun anyways
  13. yea..I think thats part of the reason some people choose to take up gear more suitable for low-pulls, and do this kinda stuff in BASE jumping? Dont see what this has got to do with skydiving? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. I think I hear a 3d dytter signal in both videos, and presuming there is a switched on, sponsored, AAD in that backpack...seems like a perfectly valid reason not to fiddle with it for longer than a second.. laugh...shoot em on video for a while..wave at other people around me "Dude...you seeing this!??" and then take my sweet time to undo my zippers and get the twists out.. Does help to fly a canopy thats a lot more suitable for wingsuit flying (spectres and more recently PD Storm), and (when i say bigger, not meaning 90-ish square feet) 150 sq/ft in size, so a tiny twist doesnt immidiately mean a rollercoaster ride from hell - Small fun tip...for the more gay/calm twists...since you usualy have quite a bit of relative wind to work with, opening one armwing (if your not grabbing risers franticly) can help untwist easily. Though probably not in more agressive turns/twists like these.. - question: why arent we seeing hands on the risers? Or wasnt this in the new easy-reach armwings on the tonysuits? Curious to see those in action kick me! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Be glad somebody is offering to buy.. Thats much better then some people who throw their preaching principles and standards up for grabs, and thats worth sh*t JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Thats just awesome! Would be a thing for Yuri or Kris, as your GPS doesnt get a signal in the closed cabin... But looks like great fun! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Why do you think that could be a packing fault? It least breaks are set. Just rolling one side of a canopy more than the other one can cause twist, or who knows what other tiny thing caused it...but I guess you accuse him of a body position at pulltime? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Sux dude...but cool to see the person who packs your reserve does a better job than you do with your main (or the packer you are using). You have your 3d dytter alarm set quite high, or dumping quite low? (just curiousity over the audio) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. We've had some weird offers and questions with our flylikebrick 'wingsuit school' in the past as well. People without any jumping experience wanting to fly wingsuits (jump 1, preferably off a cliff), people wanting to buy our school, make T-shirts, and loads of offers for Viagra.. Who's wanting to buy your school chuck? Seeing 'you' are the wingsuit school, you could opt to just sell the name for loads of $$ and reboot Have a nice financialy warm X-mas and stuff JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sSxrt0i8zQ Wrigleys '5 Gum' commercial compares their chewinggum to flying in a heated windtunnel the video in the link contains 3 of their commercials, its the third one that starts at 1:06 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Breakoff is going to be like a Nuclear explosion.. It would definately be worth putting someone with a proper camera on the ground to shoot the formation and breakoff... Imagine everyone wearing (colour coordinated) smoke...that would be incredible.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Now here is a constructive thought! Any suggestions on how to draw the lines between those classes? On suit alone or on pilot experience as well? Klaus Thats why I sugested just first giving this framework a go, before we Tristan-ize the competition, and spend 5 weeks fighting over who fits in what class. All just to make sure Tristan can win another paralog licence over Tobi JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Yes...because I couldnt care less if anyone showed up in a classic, or a Spectre 190 with a hole in the front where his head sticks out. Its you wanting to ad catagories and wingloading so you can defeat Tobi The thing is..its NEVER clear when its the model..build of the flyer..skill of the flyer... I dont have any issues with that..but just wished we could finaly skip the constant naging and blaming/claiming everything but a pilots performance in these competitions. Robi didnt do so well in his V3..so the suit sux? Loic outflies everyone in a tiny S-Fly Expert...he is a great flyer I never really get the line where people see the flyer as the reason for winning (or loosing/not doing so well) and other times put the whole claim on just the suit again.. I only suggested that to try and create some form of competition where people can finaly leave the suit design for what it is, and just focus on the skill of the flyers. But personaly..Id be happy seeing just an open class, intermediate class and beginners class in these competitions.. 100% agreed..but try and see the problem with implementing the 1000 suggested rules by everyone. Robi also made some exelent suggestions for this comp (as well as the artistic one) and of course..as time goes on...rules might change and be modified...but its all baby steps.. haha..I fully agree...but also try and see that you and I (in person and online) both share the same strong 'this is my view on things and thats the way it is', which collides in a fun way. Scott may cry about schoolboy behaviour and would rather walk away with his tail between his legs Id call that schoolboy behaviour, and call us REAL MEN, for sticking our necks out for what we want to say *bends over to have Scotts boot inserted in places where the sun dont shine* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. As fun as 35 different weight, size and suit classes are, I dont see it happening. Accept that someone else has a better build or bigger suit, and fly because you want to do the best you can. Sorry if that cuts into your collection of paralog licences or prevents you from taking home the cash prize every single time. I dont see any marathon or sprinting where the runners with shorter legs get a handicap advantage. As to the useless digs at birdman, and my own happy tinkering with my wingsuit..if you dont like it, dont fly it, but dont bash it because its not your toy of choice.. Nothing Im doing is top secret, nor is it 'the best of birdman technology'. Its me, modifying my own, privately owned wingsuit. And yes, Id fly this in a competition to see what I can do, and I wouldnt want to see different classes because someone has a better build or suit. These races are with yourself, and trying to compensate build with skill, and like any sport, nothing prevents you from 'going all out' and adjusting your bodyshape through exercise, so you weigh 35 kilos. If thats what you feel you need to do? And if you do feel the need to create a race with 35000 sub-rules and math formulas that will end in someone with a classic flying a shoddy race, but somehow taking first place, feel free to organie that one yourself..:):) All this stuff is organised because it sounds like good fun..I had no clue the suit I flew needed to be a different brand to get your full approval ;) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. I think the general use of the 3/2 km window kinda forced that one on us. I actually wanted a 3 km 1,5 km window (so 1,5 km of comp altitude) to slighly remove the advantage of a flare/dive, and also give people a bit more 'work', So just because the 3/2 km window has already ben established by all current competition, it was decided uppon as the standard. Id have to look at Klaus and see if its possible to build a feature into paralog, where the app. automaticly takes a 2,5 to 1,5 km window if the exit was anywhere around (slighly above) 9000 ft (3 km), but (for now) its probably too much work, and getting the basic framework going is priority number one..
