  1. It depends a lot on flying skill and stule and how the passenger is seated. If the wingsuit pilot flies it lazy, the trajectory will roughly match that of a (normal skydive) tracking. And flyers in RW/FF suits will be able to join. If the pilot flies it well (and uses one of the bigger wingsuits) speeds will be a lot slower than normal freefall. And quite fast forward due to the high wingload. A wingsuit or one of the high-end trackingsuits is usually what you need for that getting that one in front of you lens. If the passenger is seated to far up on the wingsuit flyer (not resting/sitting on the ass/lower portion of the rig, but all the way up on the neck/shoulders and the pilot keeps the legwing open completely) the flight can fly at such a steep angle, that it gets up to speeds of 160 to 180 mph downward. I guess the best advice would be...just make one or two testjumps..see what speeds you set and who can follow or not. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. http://www.brandweek.com/bw/content_display/news-and-features/packaged-goods/e3i8e47fc3e1fcb41bf8cc30b3242f30d01 Dont know if this is the story on the thing. Anyone know if its on youtube or any other online channel/source? Always curious to see JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. The base of the wing ends about 10 cm lower on the ghost, and the arm-position is sligtly more up, compared to the more swooped back position on the phantom2. Attached is an overlay based on the images from the product catalog on the phoenix-fly website. Due to the pictures being used all having being taken from the back, the trailing edge on the legwing is slighly lower/longer on all suits than these silhouetes make them look. 4. Not sure, but could be Frank LePoole.. Seem to recall him showing me his red/black V2 last time I was in Spain, and sorta looks like him from the side/back. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Here in Holland its also a lot of RED advertising, but surprisingly low use in the actual commercial world. For VFX plates (shooting at higher resolution to have some additional background plate to work with) its a good thing. But in use, so combersome compared to other HD systems.. 6. I know the pix of those events made it to the mainstream media everywhere. At least they did here. I know Ive seen video and pix of both mentioned events on everything from CNN to our local sucky TV station (wedged in between the news of a grocery store having oranges on sale and the weather report). I guess it all depends on the deal you have with the media..hope there's some good money in it for all photographers included in the event, as the exclusive rights all the different channels/programs are asking seem quite steep for stuff handed out for free.. Are we looking at an E.T.A for the pix and video of days..weeks..months? At least a hint on when anything on this thing will make it online would be nice...as I just got suckered into another reload(F5) on this thread by your reply DSE JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. the pictures of the crew 100 way, rw 400 way etc. all got posted online quite soon after the event. And the same thing for the video. Knowing a few of the photographers, I dont think any of them had any issues whatsoever getting their pictures sold for some good cash to all the different magazines and media outlets.. But I guess its like waiting for Lutz to arrive at 3000ft after he exited...waiting...waiting...waiting...and more waiting Do holla! when anything does make it online..hitting reload 10 times a day on these record threads to see is getting tiring JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  10. Tradeshows, seminars etc yea..used to those as well.. Just used (in skydiving) to seeing stuff on records (CREW/RW/FF etc) posted within a matter of hours and worst case scenario, a few days...think a lot of ppl are a bit muffled about having to wait so long.. But eager to see the media items that will come out of this one.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Wouldnt releasing the pictures and video to the media (newspapers/tv journals/NBC etc) have been more productive in the one or two days directly after the event? Never really seen anything this strict on any skydive record. And in my experience most media sources turn down news if its older than a few days and doesnt qualify as 'news' anymore. And even outside the media and the general skydiving public. Usually at least the people on the actual record or formation get a sneak-peek at what they've done. I know a lot of EU guys and girls who where on the record are itching and aching to see some pix and video of their jump. Understood its not up to them, me or you to decide, but the event organisers. But everyone is exited about this one..try and hurry it up a bit.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. You mean the empty-creditcard times? Or arent these like the famous 'BM Blade creditcard cleaners' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  14. Yea..I have one of those...I could post a cool picture of myself and say Im wearing one thos those underneath? Doesnt ad much..but I did post another cool picture of myself in the process But on a more serious tone.. I have balls of steel...so any attempt to swim is useless anyway... Though the saw-dust I have for a brain must compensate for something.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Dont think it does...though it does seem to go towards a different meaning in this small corner of the skydiving community.. The word 'official' is never mentioned with this basejumping video...so dont see any reason why it should be brought up here. These guys did it right..they claimed a record..and thats it...nothing official.. NOT having the word official stamped on something (like on the current amazing 71 way record) doesnt de-valuate it one bit. This nagging on something so totaly un-important for what was achieved does.. Naaaahh...'record' and 'official' are two different things. this 'media' record, isnt any more official than the dump I just took. Unless I get the 'Swiss Department of Facall Standards' in Zurrich to measure and certify it...it means crap in terms of its officiality.. Now back to the program JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  18. Dont land in the water? But that cheap shit aside.. I seem to recall there having been some posts on floatation devices/wingsuits here a while ago. Maybe dive into the search function a bit.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. The lenses they sell have a universal 'thread' that fits most cameras. So they list every type of camera (as the wide-angle lenses are also not made for skydiving alonge). For video stuff on the ground, the DVD/Hard-drive cameras are a cool thing. But for skydiving, the bumps and G forces of freefall and parachute openings/landings tend to ask a bit more of a camera, and its easy to break the CD and/or Harddrive in a skydive-enviroment. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Dude..EVERYTHING is a record if media is involved And they didnt mention the word 'official' anywhere..so no Guiness needed (unless you're talking about beer) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  25. Heyhey..some more info on the event. "EmpuriaFlock '09" The event Load organising & video/photography: David Haygarth, Alejandro (Alex) Lopez, Jarno Cordia Additional video and photography: Gustavo Cabana From Monday April 27th untill May 3d, Skydive Empuriabrava will be the place in Spain where wingsuits paint the skies with beautiful formations all week long. Check our website or SkydivingMovies.com for last years video. Load organising will be present, with 3 different groups (2x intermediate, and 1x expert group) allowing everyone to learn and be challenged at his or her own skill level. The day will be spent doing smaller formations. Depending on which group you are flying in. more points and different flight levels. The last 2 jumps of the day we will put groups together, and throughout the week, progress to bigger and bigger formations. Multiple plane loads are possible, if the group (thats you!) and the flying during the day shows everyone is up for bigger jumps. We'll also be experimenting a bit with (sunset) traveling flocks. Smaller flocks (free/no slots) with an experienced flyer as base, making nicely carving/turning tracks across the sky at slowly altering speeds and angles (bring smokes if you got em!). David haygarth (Birdman Topgun), Alejandro Lopez and Jarno Cordia (Team Fly Like Brick) will be load organising with resident EmpuriaBrava wingsuit pilot Gustavo Cabana shooting additional video and stills on all jumps. A video will be released online after the event. 1 on 1 coaching We will also have additional 1 on 1 coaches present for people with no/low flocking experience, who will jump/coach at slot-price. All coaching fees besides your coach' slot are covered in the boogie registration. So also an oppertunity for those seeking some coaching. We'll have different level coaches available, depending on what you want to learn and do. special jumps & altitude More info on this one soon... Flocking apartments Next to the DZ's nice but cheap bunkhouse rooms, Skydive Empuriabrava is offering shared apartments at walking distance from the dropzone. These apartments include TV, kitchen and living room, and will be home to wingsuit pilots attending the event. This means the nights are there for sharing video and talking about wingsuits and everything related, to flying 'till deep in the night, accompanied by Spanish beer and cheap pizza. If you want to sign up for the "flockapartments", send an email to the office at Empuriabrava, telling them you want to reserve an apartment bed (2 people per room) at "Maurici Park" for the wingsuit event.
