  1. Ok..not really..but still..incredibly cool toys http://www.lunocet.com/ A monofin that uses the same lift principles and a swinging blade to get more propulsion through the water. Meaning this small blade does the same as a huge mono-fun with a 1 meter blade. Just geeky stuff... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. i'm from a small dz no wing suits there He ment that the best place to ask would probably be tony@tonysuits.com JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Tony Suits - Intro threads on dz.com. Also browse dz.com for some info on recomended minimal experience before trying a wingsuit (with proper guidence and instruction) or browse our FAQ. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. A lot of coaches use different way of teaching certain things. Though online preperation and 'dry' practice could help, it could also do the opposite, and mean you go into the coaching sessions with bad habbits and a wrong idea on how to do things. Dont try and measure yourself after 20 minutes of tunneltime, with some of the people you see in online vids after hours and hours or tunneltime....as thats just the best way to de-motivate yourself... Just sleep well, show up nice and relaxed with an open mind and ready to learn, and try and pick up as much as you can during the actual sessons.. Have fun! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Zoomie would be an understatement I had no issues flying where I wanted to go the first 20 jumps or so. Just looking where I wanted to go, and voila..nice turns.. Then I started thinking about my steering inputs, and suddenly found myself flying the complete opposite direction of where I wanted to go with every move I made. This lasted a few jumps, and then it sorta clicked and the directional spasms disapeared. Those got replaced by wing-flapping, leg kicking, overly de-arching and other spastic bad habits over time luckely JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Some..not all.. I had a few hundred jumps and I spent a dozen or so jumps screaming all over the sky..left..right...going every oppisite way I wanted go. And had great fun flying with Tristan on his first few jumps who did the same.. 'some people' have this problem..not all.. With your knowledge on aviation and flying, Id be disappointed if you didnt figure out the correct way to use your flaps and aelerons from the get-go JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. From looking down/around the chamber, I believe its 12 motors/fans located around the difuser at the bottom of the chamber. The boys and girls www.toratora.nl have quite a few videos shot in the tunnel on their website... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Slot perfect Multi point Docked Bigway Record Formations... who can ad more words to this one hmm..could 'multi-level' be part of that one? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. severely cripple your style in a bar when wearing a short skirt.. Be fun, and have safe..! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Its a problem some people have who have a big RW background. Used to pushing down their left arm, to turn their upper body left. Which (in a wingsuit) does the complete opposite). And the same thing for your lower body, kicking a right knee down (in flat falling) turns your lower body right. While kicking a leg/knee down in a wingsuit will bank you right. If you dont think about steering in a wingsuit, and (per instructions) just 'look where you want to go' you get used to steering pretty soon. And never give it a second thought. But Ive seen some older skydivers with a big RW history struggle with this 'directional problem' quite a bit in the beginning. So no what the heck if you ask me...just a problem you missed JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. I dont know where the strap openings are, but using a belly-mount like the one from bonehead (belle-vue) installing a small 5 cm zipper on your belly-button seems to work pretty well as well (wearing the whole setup underneath the suit). Is the setup on the V2 something like this? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Could I get those 2 in brown? Was the suit also jumped at bridgeday? Any video online somewhere? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. The 'big cat' is a label you put on me..if that raises expectations on your behalf on what I write and think...then sorry if I dont meet those expectations All together..maybe 10...2 or 3 jumps on each..jumping an acro2 every now and then atm. What does that have to do with me asking you to get out more if its about contributing to the thread, I dont think your Viagra added a whole lot of on-topic talk either Laugh a little..it doesnt hurt JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Was aiming at 'my crotch is too big for this suit' Krizzy.. Offering free hugs doesnt do a lot to counter that image of you dude JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Much like sex...these are usually statements made by people who talk and think about it a lot..but should get out more, and actually do it for a change JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. though a classic II is a fun suit for the first 20 to 50 jumps, 500 bucks is a bit steep a price for a suit like that... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Most people I see and fly with just have a small RSL shackle to connect/disconnect the legstraps quickly.. Mine is in a small tube/pocket on the bottom of the legstrap (so you dont get an rls shackle imprint on your ass when you sit on it) Instead of an RLS shackle I use a small connector link. Nice and flat so you dont feel it, and flush against the bottom of my legstrap. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. I didnt mean that as a negative thing...the opposite actually.. What I ment was..most manufacturers have comparable line-ups..small suits..big suits..and if you just focus on what you like (image/production quality wise) on one manufacturers line of products..you make your life a lot easier in terms of choosing a wingsuit you like JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Speeds will come down (fallrate) and go up (forward) as you progress, and you should easily be able to get 1/3d to perfhaps almost half better scores than what you are currently getting. Focus on the forward speed, and the downward speeds will come down as you go...dont stress it..it takes some jumps.. The advantage a smaller suit has (esp. in the early learning phase) is that you have a lot more feedback on what you are doing with your limbs and what the (relative)wind is doing with the wings. The bigger the suit, the more work it will take to learn to fly. Especialy when learning aerobatic moves, big wings hinder you more than a smaller suit would (this is a mute point once you get more experienced..and you'll be able to flop and fly around in whatever size wing you put on). So personaly, Id stick with smaller wings (which would have been labeled 'huge' just a few years back:) untill you know how to fly and move around in the sky a bit more. More important.. At 10 wingsuit jumps, you'd be basing your purchase on what other people tell you works. Fly the suit some more...maybe even try and score a 2nd hand suit (resale vallue is always pretty good if you take care of your gear). And then, try some other suits, and feel how they fly. See what suits you. Judging your suit choice, PF is your dealer of choice (though without doubt, other manufacturer monkeys will weigh in and yell a dozen names on suits you should buy/try). Just jump a bit more..have fun...and spend as much time (and thus money) on jumps.. And maybe browse the classifieds and other 2nd hand suit outlets a bit to see if you can find a phantom your size maybe (btw. not everyone is american/english..sizes in cm and kg help) If you have any questions..feel free to send me a PM or email! keep flying, dont forget to smile! 20. Just counting docks or points (having 4 way lines etc. 2 way pairs are all options in formations) and awarding points for those.. this is judged by simple counting. Also> miss a point, and you either repeat it or miss a whole block/sequence of points untill you succesfully do that point again (and thus continue the count) And the proximity/flying style/neatness/speed of flight is judged by an artistic judge (also based on the video). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Thats what I also plan to do for the next edition of our wingsuit competition. Judging by GPS etc. ads a complicated and dull/nerdy side to something that should only be about artistic/flying skills. Having the score for a competition devided into 3 things. Points flown, Camerawork, Flying style (meaning clean flying and visualy judging how well a team is flying..legs on ass or all out/actulally moving). With points flown based on the score, and the other 2 rated (like most artistic sports) by a judge with a score (be it 1-5 scale or 1-10). Having a 4 way team fly some practice jumps, and getting some people to trial-judge those jumps and see what works and what doesnt work in terms of scoring is probably a good idea.. But only scoring points..you'll definately get some freefalling teams..even though better flyings means more workingtime, it was quite clear that the faster fallrates still enable higher scores.. 22. I think they've been doing this kind of stuff all over the world for quite some time...but putting it out online for everyone to play with has been lacking so far...again great work guys! Bring on the 4 way comps! Would be cool if flying could somehow be included in the judging of these things..as lots of this stuff gets easier the straighter you are falling (instead of flying) down the tube.. 23. Hey guys, Just back from watching Costyn take the plunge and get married to his sky-chicka (Congrats dude!) and some snorkling and scuba/free diving in the Carribian. So Ive been off the grid for the past 10 days..but (the horror) Im back online!! Exelent work! I think many people will appreachiate this kinda thing and (hopefully) work towards creating some cool 4 way competitions soon. As JB states..everyone that helps and pushes towards fun competitions and tries new things, helps the dicipline grow. And I think some (non 100% performance based) form of competition will be able to convince many RW/FF people who like competiting/practice with a target/goal to also give wingsuits a try.. rock on! And lets hope we see this divepool slowly grow and develop! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Though its fun to turn it into a suit for flocking and creative flying, I think most people who order/buy a Vx3 buy it as a specialist tool for their intented flying style (fast & far) and probably dont care to much for quick rigging and backflying. Its probably easy to turn it into something else, but why not just buy one of the many other suits specificly designed for flocking/flying on your belly/back/head and quickly zipping it on and off between those tandemloads? Id be quite happy to have a Vx3, and fly it specificly for its design purpoise (or at least try...). For the rest Ill just grab a stealth/sm1/blade/whatever.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. The jeans are profitable? Hey..if even Uncle Charlie is walking around in a pair..it must be the shizzle, and you're just mall-informed. But its forgiven, we've seen 'Borat' and know where you're coming from] Hey..at least here the water is nice and warm.. Just wait till I gain admin powers one day....(how many days of PC behaviour on here do you need to be suitable for that one?) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
