The direction at which the legpouch is angled is what makes it more sensetive to premature deloyments. Just do a simple search for compareable threads on this subject, and explain me the reason why you'd even want to risk someone else eating your canopy? Even on a 2 way. Its not just your own health you are decidng on. .regardless if someone else knows or asks. There are way to many examples, even mentioned here in this thread. Skydivingmovies has some nice examples (one high speed exit/tumble comes to mind) and thats the stuff people showed/talked about. There is no difference in deployment/pull from te point where your pilotchute is at arms-stretch and about to be released into the wind. Even the users comment on the additional care needed when usuing it. Why even use it at all on anything besides a BASE oriented solo practice jump? Even if the risk is minimal..as long as its an added risk, and one you can easily avoid..Be safe.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

On a basejump you are not crawling around on an airplane floor with other people brushing past your pilotchute. There is no tailwing that can break off or other jumper directly on top or behind you on a group exit where someone bumps/slides past you and slides the pilot from the base-pouch. BASE exits on 2 ways and up tend to be more spread/organised than group exits on a skydiving from a plane into a high relative wind. Look up the amount of premature deployments in (regardles of planning) flocks, exits and aerobatic jumps, and PLEASE try to understand a BASE pouch should only be used for solo practice on preperation jumps for exactly that. Anything else is a risk to the people around you. Regardless if someone realises it and asks you to please not use it, be the sensible one and dont expose anyone else to the useless risk of using the base-pouch outside of its designed intent. They initialy had a bigger item planned, with guests etc. But its now a trimmed down version with just a host talking, probably some (internet researched) version of the wingsuit history timeline And some footage from cochstedt.. But you can also just not watch TV, and watch it online later. Means you dont have to sit through commercials and all that other crap as well JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The footage is from the Cochsted An72-less boogie. Everyone who was in my group will have their moment on TV[ Just so you know which organiser to pick next year JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Go Vertical, Empuriabrava 14-20 Sept, Who's coming?
mccordia replied to nigelh's topic in Freeflying
I was at the ToraTora boogie at skydive Spa last week, and most of the hard-core flyers present seemed to be going to Spain for the GoVertical boogie next week. Seeing those guys fly makes we want to ditch the wingsuit and put some serious time into tunneling and freeflying Hope you guys have fun, and cant wait to see the video! Quoteif i DO make friends in the process, that's great, but i wont sacrifice my own beliefs about things. Quote Its always a disappointment to me when people are such good friends with someone, they would rather tell them the thing that keeps em happy, instead of telling them the thing they dont want to hear that keeps em safe.. I definately applaud you for being tempted into wingsuits at low experience, and realising you could use a bit broader background in further persuing what you want to do. Looking forward to fly with you sometime sooner or later.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

You should go into politics and become a spin-doctor..you rock at that stuff.. It wasnt about the question asked here, but about your 'surprised' reaction on people who feared this theoretical question of yours would lead to an(other) impatient decision on your behalf.. improving on your patience and taking things at a slower pace would be better than improving your english. You act surprised because people think you're getting into something you shouldnt be doing. But so far you've started flying wingsuits way bellow advice based on your personal skill and capability to handle new things. Next to being nowhere near adviced standards on first flights. You're teaching people FFCs, and at nearly zero RW (non) wingsuit jumps, think it was a smart move to jump allong with a tandem. Dont ask people for advice if you dont plan to do anything with it.. Nobody is asking you to stop jumping..they only want you to be safe, and take things one step at a time. This sport will be here for a long, long time...dont rush it.. You'll be surprised how fun it is to be doing something within your capability and actually be able to smile during a debrief... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

In germany you payd 28 euro's per jump + a boogie fee. I think thats a lot of money you're paying. In Spa the jump prices are quite a bit lower. And the money you pay doesnt go into anyones pocket. Its just to cover the cost. There are 9 load organisers walking around the DZ for the 5 days the boogie lasts. People that come from Spain, Germany, Holland etc. All of those people work for free as load organisers at the event. We're also just doing it for the free jumps. Not for a set of golden rims on our Hummers. Some of the more high profile peeps such as the Babylon flyers get their flight to Belgium covered. But everyone is doing it 'for the love of the game'. Next to that there is someone who spends the whole 5 days on the ground, editing the video of the day for your entertainment. No payment. No jumping (and that person IS a jumper who wants nothing more but to fly). With the number of coaches/load organisers there, its logical the dropzone needs some form of compensation for letting those people make all the free LO jumps. The number of load organisers they have there means there is lots of individual attention for everyone. 40 euros may seem like a lot, but try and look at what you get for that money before you badmouth any boogie or its organisers. Its not a hobby for everyone, and some people do need to make a living of it (even though thats not us, I do fully understand and applaud the people who do so succesfully) Making a 1 on 1 jump with a lot of the freefly coaches present will cost you 2 slots + 30 euros if you jump with em at their own DZ. Here its 1 on 4 coaching for a full 5 days (or weekend). We're just there to have fun, and we're glad the dropzone is making its planes and location available to us, and organising a party and DJ (who also doesnt show up for free). We work for free, and video you and brief and debrief whatever you do, and in 99% of the events, edit a video on the things you've done and put it online. All for free. If you want to go to a boogie, and get some coaching/load organising, there MIGHT be some cost involved at some point. If its too much for you, just dont come. But I think your complaining is not justified.. See you at another cheaper boogie I guess... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
So when will we finaly see this wingsuit, giving tandempassengers the illu$$ion of flight? The release date seems to be as variable as birdman delivery times.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I know quite a few people jumping tiny, HP monsters, totaly non-suitable for wingsuit flying. And some get away with it. Some dont. odd are, you'll see your reserve a lot less on a more suitable canopy though JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Call em whatever you want...I think we'll just call em what they really are..! SCALLOPS! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

never... It might be possible to arrange one as a novelty thing. And putting you in a wingsuit to give you 'the illusions of flight'. But besides a freaky carnaval ride with a lot of added dangers and complications on top of the normal tandem, there isnt much added vallue. Though half the experience would suffice...its one of those things where you do need to invest (a lot of fun) to do something really cool.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

So who did he try to sell his wingsuit to? Must have been a pre-classic model..DaVincy stylee.. Bad jokes aside...Who-ever you are...Give the poor kid his suit back! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

That sux dude...hope you...eh..your friend resolves the matter quickly. Its too small and nice a community (when we're not bitching about what 'official record' means) to have stuff like this happen.. Whoever it is..give the poor kid his cash or his suit back *waves hand in an angry and extremly impressive display of power* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
