  1. And then after the 100 way attempts, they'll wake up and start aiming for a 40 way they can actually build JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. mmmmmmmmmmmm We'll also post updates online about our record event! The history of the Stroopwafel goes back until 1784. A baker from Gouda baked a waffle of old crumbs and spices and filled this waffle with syrup. The Stroopwafel was born. In fact the Stroopwafel was a rest product. And therefor a popular pastry among the poor. During 1784 the Stroopwafel was only known in Gouda. Nowadays every bakery in Gouda has its own recipe. Syrup waffle recipes are generally guarded secrets that are passed down from parent to child, generation after generation. Good recipes are very difficult to find and even if a good recipe is found, then there is a tremendous amount of specialized equipment needed to bake a proper Stroop Wafel. 3. QuoteFrom a participant point of view, if I were flying to the US in November, spending my $ and using my holidays to participate in a world record attempt - I would want to know what the record definition is before I left home reply] You're just cheap.. Judging your avatar, even a rig is beyond affordable for you... But since you're also not going to the USA. Fresh Stroopwafel eating competition at my place in November? 4. These record attempts will probably have 3 or more acros, will that suffice? I think even a 'small' acro has 1/3d or more wingsurface (esp. in terms of legwing width) than a classic. But I know that a lot of people like James B enjoy flying an acro (still not at full tilt) around a formation on their belly/back for camera, than they do flying one of the bigwing carpets with a big arhc. 5. I think 'oldest 3 minute man' was aimed at the first person to do 3 mins. I do think Robi/Yuri (the other one) have some fun stories on their quest for 1 minute (BASE) from years ago.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Is there a limit/definition of the exit and deployment altitude to be one of the famous "3 minute club" members? I mean..take someone in a classic out on a FFC from 25000 ft and you may have an instant member... Speaking of members.. My girlfriend has called me a 3 minute man for years..but thats just bragging and showing off JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. agreed. getting the diveplans (named/numbered slots) online a few weeks to a month before the event, will definately help show that we can actually follow through with our planning, and not just throw stuff out of airplanes and 'see what works' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. I still love the number 69! Shame we had out chance to get into the Guiness Book of records, and our inability to count to 70 f*cked it up Regardless of 'records', official or unofficial status...I hope everyone flies to their best, and you build the biggest formation possible, while still flying forward and keeping it safe. I sadly wont be there (for any of the record/non record attempts) for a variety of reasons, but will be hitting F5 on dz.com every 5 minutes when November comes.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. I think this could have a use for doing extreme outside (zoomed in) shots. As no matter how accurate your ringsight is, nothing beats actually seeing the image in front of your face.. If worn scarrier setups JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Happens all the time in RW. Someone goes low on a big way and I look at them and think about the 12 pounds of lead I'm wearing. Is that also with you on your back, smiling at everyone, making it look easy JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Yea..it was funny seeing people go low on bigways, and having mark look at them with a "Dude..Im on my back and Im keeping up!" kinda look on his face JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. As I also sayd when that picture was first posted. Not caring about an actual FAI/Guiness or whatever recognition of a 'record', I do think that 16 way is the biggest slotperfect formation flown to date. Its important to get formations flying more and more, but it should never surpass the goal/intentions of actually building a complete formation. Performance is important, but if it means leaving half the flock behind, then either be more strickt in cutting/selecting people, or just fly solo's. I find that often people tend to think in extremes, while there is a lot of room left between legs on the ass, and all out/balls to the walls maximum flight... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. At the speeds Tero flew base, half the flock, the cameramen and load organiser went low or couldnt catch on some jumps, so it wasnt just mike That dude is just freakin fast! But getting speeds up, while still honoring the intended goal of building a formation..definately the way forward.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. You disappointed me... Was expecting you to fly in, barrelroll over me, while closing my zipper with your teeth... But I think you've got moves..I say go! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. If the numbers people have exact wind information, they only have weight, height, skill, air density and suit design left as variables in their ongoing quest to get the definitive answer to which suit or person flies best and at what L/D As long as it keeps em busy.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. People we've flown with over the past few month who definately qualify for a slot/shot at the bigway. I think half of these people have already booked tickets. If you have, let heffro know you'z a coming! This doesnt include the people we met and flew with at the AN72-less boogie. If you want to go to the bigway event(s) just mail or PM, and Ill gladly vouch for you if your flying is worth a damn JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. wow..400 in one plane...I think we could definately get into guiness with 'biggest non formation flown over 40 km2 of airspace with a large wingsuit group' Awesome aircraft....love the mustache Shame the [image "http://www.rob.com/pic/oops/antonov225.jpg"]An225[image] doesnt have a tailgate exit ramp. Imagine the seperation and carnage we could create with that one! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. No...as you could then use a dive/flare to up (or lower) the numbers. If you say you can fly 38 mph avg. and you manage to do that for a full 13.5 k down to 2.5 k jump. Thats a pretty solid base of comparison (when there is no high-speed/tailgate exit involved). Its only a different way of writing what people are already posting now (I can fly XXX time from XXX altitude). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Does it make any sense? I do feel different flying over 2200-2000m and under.... I think its a bit more complex than just simple calculus. knowing what the fallrate is for a prolonged (10.000 ft or so) freefall does provide a better (be it rough) comparison of (build/suit/skill?)performance instead of people posting random times and altitudes.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. I do think avg fallrate (in kmh/mph) says a bit more than the actual time (or at least makes comparison easier) As one person might only have 10.000 ft of altitude to fly, and actually get better results (in terms of slow fallrates) than someone who flies a minute more, but has 18.000 ft of altitude. Anyone of the numbers junkies care to do the math, and calculate fallrates for the times posted here? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Cheers dude.. "If you want something done right, do it yourself" is probably the best one to take from this, when it comes to adding content to your website Didnt mean to make you or anyone else look like an ass when it comes to this kinda stuff. But we do everything 'for the love of the game', but sadly have seen some people use footage, stuff we wrote etc. for their own winnings. And seeing a website offering media work, by copying stuff we (in this case, Macca) wrote and put together. I hope you understand this caused some anger and a bit of a blunt/direct reaction from our side. But no worries..no ill intentions or bad feelings. And give that webdevloper a firm slap on the wrist JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Guys..we're all for spreading the love, but would you mind writing your own text for your website, instead of doing a 1 on 1 copy/paste from our website? http://www.birdmantopgun.com/media.php http://web.mac.com/flocku/www.flockuniversity.org/Media.html JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Where the XS's you had at Marl production models? As they seemed larger than the first Xs Jeff had with him in Spa earlier this year? Shame you guys had to break em in at the competition. Would have been cool to see what you could have done with the suits when you had some actual practice/jumps on em.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. I was in germany two weeks ago, and spotted quite a few tandemmaster/cameraflyers in the 70's style, sturdy/solid freefly suits. Not like todays tight 4VRW style freefly suits, with an all-round tight fit. But with a nice tight fit on the body, loads of fabric on the legs and arms. Anybody know if there are still (dont know if its a german brand) manufacturers that make these 'oldy' style freefly suits? Website/contact info? Cheerio! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Though your own well-being is definatel important. Knowing to fly a patern well, and have the awereness on where you are and what your body is doing is generaly something people lack at low experience. hitting high canopies due to tunnel-vision, knocking the planes tail off etc. are all small dangers you learn to cope with and avoid as your experience increases.. Everyone always thinks he or she is the best, fastest and most ahead of the curve flyer out there. Though looking back, most people at agree they knew and could do sh*t at that point in their jumping career. And the people that start flying early without experience in other diciplines (with regards to formation flying) scare the shit out of me when they start flying and diving for formations and other flyers. Learning to exit in groups, dive, flare, fly a slot. Its all stuff thats a lot easier without the larger closing speeds/distances and forward motion involved. Generaly..people who dont have the patience to wait untill they have a decent amount of experience (for which 200 jump is a bare minimum estemate as to when you have experienced/been exposed to enough things to safely handle and cope any situation that can be thrown at you...though definately not an absolute number to go by...more is always better) also dont have the patience to wait untill they take their flying to the next step...be it formations, canopy flybys, base etc. This sport is here to stay...take your time...soo much fun stuff to do...why rush it JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
