  1. Dispite the plane-problems, I had an incredible time at the boogie! To everyone I met and flew with during the week, A BIG THANK YOU! I had an incredible time and enjoyed every single minute of the day! Big up to Benedikt, who really made a clear leap in his flying. getting to the slot on almost every jump. Only limited on some dives by the small suit supporting his well built frame And Veronica, who took a few jumps to get the exit right, yet always managed to get to her slot. no matter if she started the jump 500 or 2000 ft lower than the base. She credits her light build, but her flying definately is the biggest asset! Rolf, thank you for organising the event, and (together with meike) taking first and low-timers up for 1 on 1 flights, next to flying slots in the bigger groups and organising the beginner flocks. His flying skills, patience and the detailed (de)briefing Rolf gives on 1 on 1 flights with students are an example for for everyone who even thinks about calling himself an instructor or coach. Cant wait to fly with you again. And exelent job keeping the whole event safe and organised, leading by example! James B and Kristina, thank you for making sure we didnt have to lug those 20 packages of stroopwafels back to Holland. Its a joy watching the both of you fly! Juan, great pictures man! (couldnt resist some playing with colours) Shame you pussied out on the headdown/suspended in soup/beer/peper/water barrel contest. Phil, cool to meet ya! Hopefully see you in Marl this coming weekend. Shame it was only 2 jumps we got to fly. Would be sweet to do a jump and play together this saterday! And try the table-game next time..think you also have it in you to be a winner Lutz, awesome job. Always there eating tailwings and headbutting shoes and hands when people tell you to fly head to toe/head to feet. Cant wait to see how you do at Marl! Mike, though I initialy had to cut you from my group due to large amounts of tongue hanging out and camera chasing, you did an exelent job the next days, and showed people you're one of the better flyers when not high on caffiene and suggar. Keep it up! And to everyone talking about brandwars...its definately only happening at the user-end. As the people in charge and working for the different wingsuit companies where seen drinking together all night, and having friendly conversations about eachothers suits, business and jumping. Anyways..just the quick, big gay thank you thing..pix and video should be online asap! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. classic I somewhere spring 2003. From there on, skyflyer1, skyflyer3, skyflyer6, Blade, and at the moment jumping a bit of everything and eyeballing a stealth and v3 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. http://www.flylikebrick.com/manual.php There is a tutorial style video on backflying basics on our website which might help a bit. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. The An72 is stuck (most likely due to some burocrats in back-countries wanting some extra money under the table) but we're pretty much rockin from the An28. The only downside atm is long waits between loads. But tomorrow we'll get an additional skyvan, en registration fee wil be returned if the plane doesnt show up. And night-jumps and (sunset) beachjumps on the nearby lake are also being planned for the weekend, with beers waiting on landing. The plane is sadly missing, but the people running the boogies are running their asses off trying to make it as good as it can be. The dayvideos rock, the sun is just burning away from early in the morning till late in the evening, the german music is even better, in short, we're having fun. Also dove down in a bucket of rotten shit for some free jumps (Juan "Melon" and Mikey chickened out). Gotto run now, boarding call! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Already made some jumps today. The weather is nothing short of incredible. 14.500 ft in the An28, and tomorrow the big brother arrives! Its gonna rock! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. The guys in the UK are probably rocking on their pre-boogie weekend, and we jumped a balloon last wednesday in preparation for the cool stuff in Germany! Ok..no actual preperation..but it just felt good Costyn found this weather fore-cast for the week...looking mighty fine! http://www.meteogroup.com/int/home/weather/world_weather/city_weather.html?cityID=49X15773&tx_mgcityweatherstatic_pi1[cityIDuse]=49X15773 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  12. And we made the Dutch newspapers yesterday, with some promo stuff for a 5 day balloon-festival we'll be going to tonight (jumping wingsuits). We even managed to push the Tour de Farce (the doping/bicycle thing) off the front page http://flylikebrick.com/images/media/leeuwardercourant.gif JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  15. Tristan always showed poor judgement in terms of choosing colours....here ya go... The 'Rotterdam' galleries on http://www.flylikebrick.com/minishowcase have tons of teal pix on his previous V2 *edit* Direct link to his teal V2 http://flylikebrick.com/minishowcase/galleries/12_2006_Rotterdam_02/IMG_6847.jpg http://flylikebrick.com/minishowcase/galleries/12_2006_Rotterdam_02/IMG_6846.jpg JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  17. You where the one who asked us... We're not just artistic flyers..ask anyone who flies with us, and we can also do 'our thing' when it comes to distance flying.. All Im giving you is the answer you will get to after a LOOOOONG useless search... There are a dozen variables that make up the glide-angle. And suit design is only a fraction of that. Build and skill factor in much higher. Though design is a big help, there's always a few wingsuit pilots who will fly circles around you in your 'big/fast' suit in something half the size, and (by your standard) suit not capable of distance flying... noop..the cleaner your head is...the more you feel what the wind is doing...the better your flying... A decent background in skydiving, body controll and awereness are much more valluable than the data you quoted.. Tristan is the best example..he smoked everyones tail, yet every word he writes is a clear example he has no clue as to what actually makes a suit fly...he's just a skilled guru...and he does it all for the chicks Stop the math..and start flying.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. With the same lack of information on wind speeds JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Deniq..you sure you aint Yuri? Fly..its much more interesting than the math JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Skill, weight, size/height, next to the wind etc. all influence the data to such a degree, that getting 100% accurate glide-ratios is close to impossible... Waiting for the perfect storm (tailwind) is the best idea to get the best scores for a certain suit.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. And another small addition.. The biggest focus this weekend will be 1 on 1 jumps. If there is enough interest, we will see about organising a decent sized flocking(training)event in Belgium (cheaper jumps) later this year. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Nice that you have your period, but the best smoke bracket EVER, is the one Johan Vervoort (Belgian basejumper) uses. Basicaly a 50 cm stick, duc-taped to his shoe. With the smoke can duc-taped to the end of the stick. Duc-Tape engenering always wins JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Its weird, but quite often whuffo's dont find these things (which we find impressive) anything special. We had the same thing doing a flyby for a TV show, and they edited out everything besides the tandem freefall portion the showhost did. Intercutting it with wingsuit footage, and then having him hold a BS talk about 'flying with us' and even in interviews, he was seen talking about his 'wingsuit flying experience'... So any chance at slapping that flyby online on the youtubes ASAP for us desk-jockeys!? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Normal jumps are 28 euro's (25 if you're a member). Not a price you'd want to pay for a full week of skydiving (though An72 slot-price is sadly the same amount) Compared to UK prices its not so bad. But I wouldnt recommend Americans flying in with their weak dollars I think they can do 3 to 4 jumps for the price we pay for a single jump here. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Small addition/correction. The Club is not covering half the slot, but actually only asking 10 euro's for the instructors slot. So thats your own slot + 10 euros for instruction/debrief, suit rental, instructors slot en video of your jump JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
