The Stealth and Ghost2 seem to be fraternal twins at first glance.. How big a difference is there between the two at this point? Or will a future Stealth2 feature any (WoM edition?) wingsize changes to set it further appart from the Ghost2? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

That line-up on the grass looks epic... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Groovy item.. I see he switched from the S3/S4 he has been flying to a stealth. Does seem a better wingsuit for what he intends to do. Dont know why he'd want to land a wingsuit at 'over a 100 miles per hour' as he quotes. Seems like the whole idea is to slow it down soo much you can land and stand it up? 100 mph downward doesnt sound survive-able. And if its 100 mph forward, that doesnt sound like something you'd stand up on landing Dont know about you, but the slip&slide project doesnt sound like landing a wingsuit to me? Sure it be cool as f*ck, and Id be watching this stuff after/if he'd succeed. But the wingsuit isnt even needed, and you could technicaly do it in normal freefall if you just get the aim right. Im sure it atrackts lots of sponsor-money and more media attention. And if thats the goal..yea..I think he can do it too... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Exelent write-up, and again, amazing pictures... Great work you guys! Looks like its only a day or two days of jumping away before its flown as a complete formation. Getting tighter and tighter with every picture and video I see! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

ChrisMcNamara just added a 2 minute promo for Discovery Channel to his youtube account. A car commercial, but pretty damn cool to see this stuff appearing in main-stream media more and more. Also cant wait to see all the TV items on the current bigway events. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

All the ground/dirtdive pix are cool beans, but sky-pix! The 71 ways with only few people out! Us pixel-pushing-cubicle-dwellers need that stuff to survive the working day! My weekend was a solo from a C172 from 6000ft! Come on..throw the kid a bone here JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

long focal length on gyro stabilized cameras (hence the perfectly stabile image) Quite often used in survailance work from choppers, and the Tour the Doping...eh..Tour de France also quite often has some beautifull images shot this way (most of that stuff was actually shot by a Belgian skydiver who is a wescam operator). Those same guys recently also did some cool base/wingsuit stuff this way with James Boole...that should probably pop online somewhere soon (I hope) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Cheap 3D animated skydiving logos for jump tix. 'my book' is sadly available for free on my website..no jump tix to be earned there...it does have a great co-author JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Getting an suit from either Tony-Suits (Aerobat), Phoenix-Fly (Acro2 or Phantom2) or FlyYourBody (S-fly) is probably the range of choices suitable for what you mention. With the final choice coming down to personal preference in terms of which actual manufacturer you (or others) choose/recommend. All will be great deals..so dont stress the choice too much.. All offer a quick-rigging zipper system (no longer the old cable systems). Meaning you can lap the suit on your rig in a heartbeat, and catch that last fun-jump after you're done with tandem/AFF/whatever work jumps... needing 10 minutes to put a wingsuit on your rig can mean just missing that last sunset load JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

For basejumping (night jumps) I think that one would rock, with regards to the amazing low-light ability. And quality-wise, when combined with a good set of lenzes, I think you can create magic... Magic comes at a price though...though when compared with other high-end equipment, a verry affordable price for anyone really serious about things.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Kay..shit...here goes nothing.. Technically HDV is a recording format for an HD signal.. Where HDV, instead of nice and sharp full frame 1920x1080 HD frame, records a (usualy MPG2/MPEG4) compressed interlaced 1440x1080 (non-square pixel) image. Comparing a still frame from a 'professional' (read: expensive/bulky) HD camera to one from a pro-sumer HDV camera (lenses aside) definately shows a difference. Esp. when looking at the way colour is handled (esp. important when working with blue/green screen.) So though (technically) HDV is concidered HD, a better name would be 'low-budget-HD' Not completely my cup of tea (this is about as far as my limited knowledge into this techy side of things goes). But I know what kind of source material I prefer when working with HD background plates for visual effects. snif..how did I do? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

No..thats a HDV camera...not HD HD and HDV are two completely different things... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Hi Marcos, The idea behind your website (a blog where you collect links, post news and gather information) is definitely a good one. Just making it into a more conventional blog/news site, where you write some accompanying articles or little bits of info/text and link to all the different websites with wingsuit information, is probably appreciated more by the other people and their resp. websites. Creating a bit of a wingsuit specific news/google.com I hope this mass attack by people who found some of their stuff on your site didnt discourage you from continuing with your website, as the idea behind it is definately a good one. And it would be a website Id visit daily if you managed to make it the center hub for news from all manufacturers, media, youtube/skydivingmovies videos etc. just maintain some creative writing input, and make all the news your own, by adding a bit of style to it with your own writing and linking to the org. sources. They are just eager (new) wingsuit flyers, who tried to make a website where they gather all wingsuit news and info. They just did it wrongly, by copying all content they could find onto their own site. I got pointed to their website by a friend, and discovered most of our stuff on there (FAQ, info, flight manual videos etc). Every single thing named the source, but still..its not fair play to just host/offer mirrored content. The responded to my email (asking them to make it a real blog, and not a full copy of our and other peoples websites) with appologies, and after more people found out and complained, they took down the website. Albeit maybe a bit naive...they are good guys, and responded correctly when people complained. Worst case scenario..they now owe a few people some beers and they learnt something about copyright/ownership of written materials/images. Move along people...nothing to see here... whats a good freefall time for a beginner?
mccordia replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I dont think anyone is disputing the safety of your first jump, but only pointing out the additional safety and awereness that comes with more experience. I also hope this whole discussion (which is more aimed at the people giving the instruction to lowtimers) doesnt take away one bit of the fun and enjoyment of your first jump...
