    Several friends flew SWA from Austin for the POPs world record to Ontario,Ca. no problem either way. from Hou. I've flown SWA carry on no problem. I did tke the letters with me just in case, no one needed them but said thanks for being prepaired.

    Just curious, did you spot for yourself? Did you get out downwind from the dz on the wrong side of the hangar/main landing area? Were you visible to spectators/ ground crew when you were under canopy? At my dz it would be strange not to be seen because we load on the north side of the big hangar and the landing are is mainly south but also east, west and northwest. At my dz, I would be livid if someone if not usually several people didn't attempt to find me. Then again if anyone was jumping a 288 Manta, everyone would be looking out for them.

    As per Chucky, Roll the F%#@K out of the nose on all X-braced canopies! Opens like a dream! He has a ton more experience than I have!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Why? I have been experimenting with different pack jobs and rolling the nose, half and half, has actually worked out quite well. Is there a reason I shouldn't do this? Wait until one side inflates completely before the other unrolls and you'll find yourself spun-up tighter than a drum and diving like a maniac.

    Some packing tips Iv'e found useful on X-brced canopies(I have 2-21's and 1-27); Pull the center cel out and feather the other cells back deeper in the pack job, kinda stair stepped. I pull the slider about 2" in front of the nose. Make sure that the d-bag is centered in the rig if it's tight (mine is). Put the bag straight in with the bridle on top, don't rotate it, makes for a clean stright up deployment. Hope any or all of this helps. As for the vectran lines being sticky, I'd say waxxy and don't think that's an issue. one other thing, watch the horizon, concentrate on staying level in the harness. Good luck!

    Rolling the nose on any X-braced canopy is NOT a good idea!

    But my experiences with my swoops all come from a Xfire 2 loaded 1.6:1, is it possible that higher wing loading increases the harness turn response? Guy B I G T I M E !

    almost as much as I wanted;11;0 Visited my sweety in Austin and we jumped San Marcos (slow) all weekend. No beer because I decided that my 79' Xaos 27 was NOT the best canopy to try out the Birdman with a little h/o from friday.

    Question, If you are paying by credit card, why not leave the card open then close it out when you're done?

    In my merchant agreement, I get the original fee returned as well. As for the pricing of merchandise, I discount according to payment type. One thing most people don't understand is that the bank/check cards have the highest % charge for most merchants.

    Don't look down as Skymama said, look way out in front of you! You don't look at the stripe in the road right in front of your car when you drive (assuming you drive), do you? Look down the road and you'll be fine! Good luck and wellcome back!

    What do they think it is? A opossum/armadillo? They are endangered, not like a gator! If they come to Texas, they can have all the turtles they want, red eared and such out of our lakes. They are plentiful.

    Whats the big deal? If you know where your line sets are and how many lines to grab, lines in, material out, it's not rocket science! I pack basicaly blind all the time.
