    at my normal home dz the tandem masters and vidiots do an awsome job and get tipped regularly for a job well done. They don't make a lot of money so it is well appreciated!

    After a relatively slow start, 13 in 2000, 526 in 2001, 573 in 2002, 475 in 2003 to date. Virtually all weekends at an Otter DZ, year round in Texas.

    This past season in 4-way i leaded up 16# comfortably. Practicing in the base for the POPs world record, I went as high as 44# and it hurt to walk! But talk about sweet swoops!

I saw a demonstration a few months ago of something called a shape memory alloy. It's a metal that can be deformed but will return to its original shape when heat is applied. THATs memory. I simply don't believe the fact that ZP seems to grow when you let it sit is anything other than air moving around in it. Then again, I could be wrong. It's the stiffness that is the inherent "memory". The air inside is not under pressure to "move around". The stiffness of the material is trying to flatten back out. Thats the memory.

    I'm sure it's not very long term if at all. If it didn't have "memory", it would just lie there on the floor like "F-111". When you pack a ZP main and set it on the floor and squeeze the air out with your body and get up doe's it just sit there or grow? The newwer the canopy, the more pronounced the "memory". When I say slower it may be a second or so.

    True, a majority of the fatalities that you read are low turns but you could probably add 3-5 more deaths a year without AAD's. Seems like we already see a couple a year where somone bounces because they either didn't have one or had one uselessly not active. On my 500th jump, a 20-way Texxas star, the JM I had when I returned to the sport got knocked out in when he hit someones leg diving to the formation. Noone saw him going low unconscious and luckily he came to at about 3 grand when his audible went off, he tracked and pulled ok. He had 0 recollection of any of the dive. He wouldn't jump on anything bigger than about 8-way untill he got an AAD. Guess it was a real eye opener for him, he was lucky.

    I've only really been in the sport for three years since I came back. 1500+ jumps and I can quit any time I want! 2 state rcords and almost a world record and I can quit tommorrow, NOT!

    From what a customer told me today, it's up around Conroe and would make the Las Vegas joke look like Lady Liberty. These are not to be confused with anything like any Sky Venture tunnel.
