  1. Basicaly a planned emmergency exit from lower altitude, usually 3,500-4,500' for a student. Anything over 2000' for experienced jumpers although could have higher min. for lower licenses.
  2. --------------------- I would be totally confident on the 21 or 27 for camera. My 21-88' (2.2/1)is the absolute best opening canopy I've ever jumped.
  3. If that's the case it's great. The demo they made a month ago was like PD slick, this is really easy to handle. I just had several people tel me it was the SA material. They jump Cobalts and a Viper. Sorry, my bad.
  4. Did they change to Gelvenor fabric (SA) ? --------- This canopy is. ------- Is this just your canopy or a general change? Do you know why? -------- Can't answer this but I love it!
  5. Missed ya Brit, Awsome canopy! Real heavy silicone coat on the material(not Gelvenor). Really nice openings, much better dive than the 83'. Opens so soft that I kept thinking I must have line twists then look up and watch it snivelling!
  6. I agree, make them tighter. You may to the plane a little more akwardly, but at least you will walk less akward for the rest of the week. You won't walk funny far if you tighten them when you're close to the plane. Also the first thing I loosen on the ground before walking 15' to the packing room.
  7. -------------------------------------- Thanks for reading between the ink.
  8. I jumped my Xaos 21 -88 loaded like 2.8 for the POPs world record and landed it. I wouldnt have wanted to shed the weight, rather land as is. Awsume swoop!
  9. Slappie, Since you gave up jumping and sold your gear, ADIOS!
  10. I open mine in word and it's 610kb reduced.
  11. ------------------------------------------ Hi Brittany Bring some lead and jump it Sunday @Waller! UPS say's tomorrow I'll have it!
  12. My ex-wife accussed me of jumping around, that's why she's an ex!
  13. This will be my 4th Xaos-21-88,21-85.27-83(demo). I still own the 2-21s! The wingloading on the 27-83 wouldn't dive as hard or long as the 21-85 (with 5 more # of lead on).
  14. [ Jumperconway hit the nail on the head I think about this other thread. Sometimes people just gotta chill and go with it.
  15. But never Texas, Doesn't count! You're ok in by book. Thanks for reading the maddness.
  16. , all is well in ethe world. ----------------------------------- OK >>vibes! Come on drugs damnit! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  17. The Southern deal was only a joke response to the guy that blasted the "Who's Jewish Here" post. Yes I'm a southerner and damn proud but read the other post!
  18. QuoteGive me a big fucking break and please moderate this kind of crap out of the forum. Before you take another hit, see my post, How many real southerners here.
  19. [RED]in response to "How many Jews Here"[/RED] ------------------------------------------- Give me a big fucking break and please moderate this kind of crap out of the forum. ----------------------------------------------------- [RED]I don't think that the moderaters are here for your whims.[/RED] ---------------------------------------------------------- I define myself as me. period. Not where i live, not where my parents lived, not were my uncle fred used to live. Who the hell really cares what my uncle fred used to believe in, much less his great, great, great, ancesteral great, great, uninformed, illiterate, third world folk. This is a sore spot for me, obiously. Anybody who declares themselves to be somebody or anybody other than just themself, bases on some preconcieved or preordained attatchment to something or somestuff. Weak, weak. Grab your ass with both hands and stand up straight. You are you, and only you! No crutches, no support, no nothing but you. How does that feel? Naked, ... good! Go forth and be you. I will respect you for being you. I will never respect you for being a 'Masson, or a Morman, or a catholic, or a black, or jew, or a whatthefuckever! ------------------------------------------------------------- [RED]Sory, a little bit of humility is due here! No, I'm not Jewish but if I was I would be happy to respond because we may have a lot more in common than the general public on this forum. Had he put up "Any Protestant, hetero blonde babes out there?" Would you have responded? This happens to be a public forum (thanks to HH) and people may wish to bond in this sport with those of like other interests. I am not gay and may not appreciate some of the gay posts here but it IS their prerogative. I haven't seen any real racist posts here but if they are not insulting someone here directly I assume that would be OK. If you don't like or agree with the title or content based on race, creed or color I would suggest avoiding it and find something else of interest. Most of us here are brothers/sisters of the sky as one. May we be one in peace![/RED]
  20. After weeks(monthes?) of jumping the 27-83' Xaos that Precision made me for a demo, I found out today that my new baby(27-79') left tuesday! At least I was able to jump the demo since before the TSR '03 until this one was done! I'll give an update once I recieve it!
  21. I jump Otters all day long and get a check virtually every jump. It's one less question I have on deployment! OK so I may pull a little low at times but when I pull the trigger, I don't want to question a pilot chute in tow! Granted I only get checked by those I trust.
  22. Kelly, My idea was that if it was only faded and not shrunken to remark it. I meant to check if the line had shrunken also. blues, Conway
  23. The color is so faded in my window that it almost always "looks" white. - it s/b black. 90% of the time when I ask what color it is, I get a mumbled reply. Ink is cheap, use a marks-alot! There isn't a lot of solice in only knowing that your pin looks good! Uncocked pilot chute in tow!
  24. That reply was directed at (my friend)Gemini. I am the safety nut on our loads although unless they are a student or new jumper I WILL ask first. If I see something amiss or questionable I WILL bring it to your attention. If you are a 50 jump wonder I will ask to gear check you if you are near me and I haven't seen someone else check you and you SHOULD appreciate it. I have over 1500 jumps in 3 years and I usually present my rig to be checked by someone I trust. I've had a misrouted bridle on a Racer spotted on the ground that would NOT have pulled my pin! It would have been my 1st reserve ride (hopefully) if this had not been checked. I agree that someone should ask before checking your gear if they don't know you, but if it happens before you can stop it, assume that they are showing that they care and ask them not to do it again with out your request and if you are unsure have someone else that you trust check it again before exit. A go around for a safety issue is never frowned upon to my knowledge. Did I mention the reserve pin that in the middle of the day had almost backed out and found just before jump run a month ago? I realize that this thread started out as an invasion of privacy issue but safety is the direction it turned.
