Jim, I remember it very well. I also remember the worthless dog being lead by police officers to court as he made multipul attempts to kick Channel 13 camera out of the hands of the camera man. I remember his laughing and smiles with no remorse for his actions in the torture, rape and murders of those two girls...I remember a father's love for his daughter in tears and unable to speak. The only thing that I would have preferred would have been quick trails and the immediate exicution of those involved. The Death Penilty is an necessary tool and should be used far more often. By the way it also reduces Prison over crowding.

For those that oppose socialised healthcare in the USA
Channman replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
> edited to add: if I were to get injured in New Zealand, I would certainly pay for the healthcare that I received. I would not expect y'all to pick up my tab. If I were unable to pay....well, then how the hell did I get to NZ anyway? I just wanted to add, If I entered the US illegally and was to be injured say in the state of Texas I would exspect not only to receive medical treatment with three meals a day, but a nice comfy bed and TV absolutly free. Well at least free to me, not to the tax payers of Texas. Hell in San Fran I would'nt exspect to be turned over to ICE. -

I would simply disagree that K-12 is free. I own a home and pay in excess of $6,000 a year in school taxes. But I do agree with you statement that the Government would in deed screw up the Health Care system much like they have done with our schools. -
Rove Ignores Congressional Subpoena, Refuses to Testify
Channman replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
> What does that have to do with the fact that Rove is refusing to testify? Right, nothing at all. He should be treated exactly the same as anyone else who refuses. He should continue to refuse to testify. It's time to put these pin heads in their place. I've never seen one man piss so many people off, but it brings a smile to my lips. Crap, I'm suppose to be in a self imposed Time Out, but I had to respond to this stupid thread. Come up with better discussions this stuff is getting boring. -
Was this wrong too? A record $100 million* out-of-court wrongful death settlement was reached on behalf of J. and Rev. D.S.W. of the south side of Chicago. After calculating the wrongful death damages, this is believed to be the largest wrongful death settlement to a single family in the country. Rev. and Mrs. W., both age 50, were the parents of six children killed in a fiery van crash at approximately 10:30 a.m. after Rev. D.W. struck a piece of debris that was lying in the roadway. The debris turned out to be a mud flap/taillight assembly that detached from a truck's chassis and became lodged in the van's gas tank. Sparks from the assembly caused an explosion and/or fire, which engulfed the van and its occupants in flames. Rev. and Mrs. W. were burned, but narrowly escaped. Their six children perished in the fire. Seems pretty similar to me, except it was a truck and not a DC10 dropping debris. Well Kallend I might be able to understand the payment for pain and suffering, but could not if on a jury convict an individual or individuals for manslaughter. 100 million is excessive, maybe not to the victims, but having attorneys walk away with 40 million is excessive. I would award no more than 12 million to the victims and only pay the hourly rate to the attorneys. Have a great 4th, and may all your Avgas purchases be less than $4.00 Now I must return to my self imposed banning.

Well I just wondering if he has promised her a spot on the SCOTUS after he is elected. This I'm sure brings great pleasure to many here in Speakers. But in the words of that dummy Old Man Walter, "It pisses me off".

"We in America have learned bitter lessons from two World Wars: It is better to be here ready to protect the peace than to take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond only after freedom is lost. We've learned that isolationism never was and never will be an acceptable response to tyrannical governments with an expansionist intent." There is so much in this speach that should ring true today I hope.

Is it possible, just asking the question: that if I wanted to give $100,000 to a candidate could I not spread that out amoung 500 individuals? This would allow me to give a huge amount of money but yet shield my contribution by making it appear that the money came through individual donations. And should I dare ask, has this happened in the past?

Turn them loose in the neighborhoods of the politicians who insist that Gitmo be shut down. I was thinking of placing them in the politicians homes as a sort of half way house where they could better adapt to the I hate America way of life.

Will This Get the Left Anti Evangelicals Panties In a Bundle?
Channman replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Probably so, but only if the Wright nonsense is continued to be used as the swiftboaters ammo. I would disagree with you on Wright. His attitude is exactly why racisim lives on. (and those like him that exist on both sides) Obamas wife agrees with Wright as well. Have listened to any of his "sermons" all the way through? Scary shit >"exactly why racisim lives on." Thinking of all the Amens and those agreeing with his comments located in the back ground as well as those in the congregation. Rev. Wright is doing his part in keeping his people pissed off. -

The Left is not upset, they know that he is not a christian. A christian would not support many of his views. -
Clinton is only in the Race to help bloody up Obama politically. The McCain handlers were not in any mood to address Obama's pass or confront him on issues thus "Operation Chaos" was born. If not for all the commandos, volunteers, and other operatives in Indiana this thing would be over. With any luck we will see this thing though to the convention. That will be the View your looking for.

> Heck, taxpayer dollars subsidize things such as NPR and PBS...why not the airlines? Why can't NPR and PBS pay their own way as commercial television and radio has to do? Because their business model sucks

Hard for me to confess I voted for this guy twice. The 1st four years were good, the last four years have been a great disappointment. How are these fees accessed, as an example are they charged to a flight school based on number of flights in and out of Class B? Or is the fee / TAX based on several different methods?

Amnesty International’s Ad Against Waterboarding

My attempt as poorly presented as it may have been was to only mention Hollywood advocates torture via its movies and in doing so it gives it's consent. In doing so it gives it's consent. -
Most unpopular president in modern American history
Channman replied to outrager's topic in Speakers Corner
Clinton had high approval ratings, even during his impeachment. He wasn't a great president, but he was a great president compared to Bush. Clinton was such a fuckup his first couple of years in office that Republicans swept Congress in the 94 elections. Clinton unchecked by Congress was a horrible president. Bush, unchecked by Congress, is a horrible president. And Carter is still running a close second. -
Another thing. Doesn't this echo EXACTLY what "the deniers" have been saying all along? That natural events could be a primary cause to climate change? This could only mean that there is a possiblity that a new Ice Age could be around the corner. Hear anything about this in the rumor mill? Keep me informed so I can plan for the next EARTH is Doomed post.

Amnesty International’s Ad Against Waterboarding
Channman replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Just an observation, Hollywood being the bastion of all that is LEFT seem to find that torture really does work. Denzel Washington in the "Burning Man" used several methods of torture to obtain information with great success. Daily Television series show methods of torture that produce results that save lives. / and with Amnesty International having so many advocates in this crowd why it it that there seems to be no out cry. Hollywood in fact is one of the biggest advocates of torture and If you want to see change, and maybe change public opinion that would be a good place to start. As for my opinion, Waterboarding seems to have produced valuable information in the past, but then Denzel's method of cutting fingers off seemed to work as well. -

Must be a Tough Day to be Crying the "R" word...
Channman replied to Gawain's topic in Speakers Corner
> I have never seen a "ression" I liked. Point being, 2 consecutive quarters of decline is NOT the determining factor, contrary to Gawain's original claim. NBER has yet to rule on the current situation. However, I don't think ANY voters need the NBER, you, me, or GWB to tell them how they are faring under $4 gas, high food prices, the $US in the basement, homes losing value... Well for starter, the US has gone through several recessions in the past and will have many to come in the future. Money is tight for many, not so much for me at this point but my wife and I are taking steps to minimize or debt when it comes to car payments. Gas, for me at the moment is about 3.29 per gallon at our local Koger store. However 100LL at Hobby is a pain in the ass when you need some, costing several hundred dollars to make a four hour flight. -
http://www.theory-of-evolution.net/ I've always found this discussion very interesting because I think I've learned more reading the views from those that post here in reference to this topic. More to the point I think I've found over time Bill either speads way to much time in books, or he's a hell lot smarter than me, and I'm leaning more to the latter. I found the above referenced web site helpful as far as to the differences between ID Vs Evolution. I have no dog in this fight, simply because I really don't care. I for one don't believe in Evolution due in part I believe, oops...or shall I say know their is a creator. I look at this incrediable planet and find it more difficult to think it all happened by some accident if in fact that is what evolutionist believe. But that just me, I know its a heavy burden I carry but it's a burden I must carry alone. The joy of having a simple mind, is not having to bang my head with all those who appose my truth. All in all, its been a good read, especially you'r replies Bill. Cheers

You may want to consider refining your definition a bit. Our Founding Fathers felt the need to replace the Articles of Confederation because it did not give the central government sufficient control over the states. If we use your definition, the Constitution for The United States of America was written to usher in communism. I'm reasonably certain that was not what you intended to imply. He may want to refine it even more than that, given that a REAL communist society would have NO government. The definition of communism is nearly opposite that of government control. Makes me wonder who else might be suppressing communist tendencies. linz Tens of millions killed under communism. I say we give it another chance.
