  1. , I hear the cake was not all that good, purhaps it was purchased in China. Well the big O is still loved by Bill, and Kallend, I wonder if they were invited to the party?
  2. I'm a product of public education. A cross I alone must carry. Hope I did'nt offend anyone mentioning the word cross. But the real issue Bill, is the lack of proper proof reading. And as far as my so called rant, just an observation. So take three deep breaths, it will help calm you.
  3. What the hell is the big deal about the teleprompter? So he uses a teleprompter. Everyone else reads their speech from something else. And they all have speech writers. I'm not taking political sides, I'm just saying you probably could've made a real point by picking out any number of legitimate flaws. Like how not being able to get out a coherent sentence (not even being able to read the written speech) may lead people to think that you're one of the duller crayons. (O.K., so maybe I am taking sides....) > Two of O's Teleprompters after embarrassing the Presz when divering speaches written by his puppet master did the honorable thing by committing suicide.
  4. Posted by Henry Payne (The Detroit News) on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 12:17 AM Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Energy Leader (National Review, 08.10.09) Detroit, Mich. - Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't risen in more than a decade; Great Lakes water levels have resumed their 30-year cyclical rise (contrary to a decade of media scare stories that they were drying up due to global warming), and polls show that climate change doesn't even make a list of Michigan voters' top-ten concerns. Yet in an interview with the Detroit News Monday, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) - recently appointed to the Senate Energy Committee - made clear that fighting the climate crisis is her top priority. "Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes." And there are sea monsters in Lake Michigan. I can feel them when I'm boating. The Global Warming Religion, is like a monkey climbing an elephants leg with Rape on it's mind. I'm sorry, but I just think this GW Religion stuff is full of crap, not to mention this leftist Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
  5. Where do I find some of those Obama Joker Posters? I LIKE IT....also would like to post a few around town. Also need to get the Tee Shirt version so I can wear it to the DZ for a Photo op.
  6. Save American Jobs, Stop Cap and Trade...oh and Build more Nuclear Power and drill for more oil and Natural Gas.
  7. I think this is probably one of those cases where both guys fucked up, and neither is willing to admit it. Professor Gates probably was confrontational with the police officer, but his extremely eminent place in Black Academia (and Black America) means that no one is willing to admit that. The cop definitely went overboard. Gates is practically an invalid. Handcuffing him was totally unnecessary, even if you wanted to take him in. And frankly, taking him in after you've established that it's his residence is just dumb. If both men could have just looked each other in the eye at the time and said "shit, man, I fucked up, sorry about that..." They both would have gone their ways and no one would be worried about it. As it is, we've got a giant, overblown political mountain being made out of a particularly silly molehill. I disagree, Gates I believe was the one being a ASS, and confrontational. Responding to a possible break in the officer did the right thing by asking the gentlemen out onto the porch so that he could determine who he was. Mr. Gates flapped his gums to the point it got him placed in handcuff. Mr. Gates was already placing blame on the white man no sooner than the officer showed up trying to protect his property. The only one to blame is MR. GATES, and he should apologize to the officer and the community for being out of line.
  8. Hey, Buck Saturday the big day for ya. See you at the DZ. I looked at the video stopping often to determine what might have happened. Looks like a possible lesson in Tailwheel to me. Landing on the mains pushing the stick forward abit to keep the tailwheel off. However I never did see a reduction in speed it appears the speed stayed about the same and maybe increased abit before the pilot lost directional control because you see very little if any input in the rudder and the elevators seemed to be neutral until just before the nose over when you see sugnifficant elevator input to bring the tail down. But hey what do I know, one of the reasons I practice heavy cross wind landings often on the main wheels and ridding on one main or the other to keep on top of the beast. Tailwheel aircraft will slap the crap out of you if you let it get away from you.
  9. Yea, thats what I've been trying to tell everybody!!
  10. I must agree, been a user of Autocad since Version 10. Been 3D modelling in Autocad I can't remember when, never have used more than 25% off its capability to model complex designs and complete fabrication drawings for Aero Space projects. However we have been using Pro E Wildfire now for more than 9 years. But to the posters question. I learned Autocad on my own at work. Took about 2 years to become proficient, and another 2 years to be proficient using 3D modelling.
  11. > Mother Earth doesn't care about mercury (where do you think we get it from?) I knew that, I just wanted to see if you knew.
  12. > There are no "huge holes" in AGW theory. The theory is based on experiments you yourself can do. Denying fundamental physics make deniers look pretty silly. I still think Global Warming is a Religion. Some people have to believe in something why not GW/Mother Earth. But I have to admit I'm doing my small part in supporting the make believe doom we are facing by installing solar lights in my front yard, and risking the health of my family by putting light bulbs in my home that have Mercury in them. If Mother Earth ever finds out I'm using Light bulbs with Mercury she's going to get STEAMED.
  13. My brother-in-law is a Professor/Phd and I damn sure don't call him Professor or Doctor. I've called him an Ass Hole from time to time when were messing around. Boxer is an ASS plan and simple, not to mention Simple Minded obviously a product of "Government Education"...a burden I carry as well.
  14. > If it is a humane life at conception then it is a life Most Women I know and I know a few, when they became pregnant they didn't think they were having a pig, dog, cat or for that matter an alien. I think any reasonable individual with some knowledge must think they were going to have a Child, i.e. (Human). I'm a father of 3 Girls, never did I think at any time during my wife's pregnancies, she was not pregnant with a Life (Child). But this just might be because I don't hang around women if pregnant, that think less of the life they carry.
  15. No, He should ask for forgiveness, and continue his duties. He should call off his relationship with he's staffer and stay clear of her husband for safety reason. He may need to give a call to Law Rocket to discuss his options. However it does appear he resigned from his position of leadership. Other than that, he should stay on the job. Well there might be some other things he might what to do like trying to keep his marriage together.
  16. The following information was forwarded to me from my former Flight Instructor who now flies for Charles Swabb. "This is just another posible cause" "FV "Cort" de Peyster Carpe Cappuccino San Juan Islands, WA, USA Subject: Air France Accident: Smoking Gun Found A Brazilian Naval unit reportedly found the complete vertical fin/rudder assembly of the doomed aircraft floating some 30 miles from the main debris field. The search for the flight recorders goes on, but given the failure history of the vertical fins on A300-series aircraft, an analysis of its structure at the point of failure will likely yield the primary cause factor in the breakup of the aircraft, with the flight recorder data (if found) providing only secondary contributing phenomena. The fin-failure-leading-to-breakup sequence is strongly suggested in the attached (below) narrative report by George Larson, Editor emeritus of Smithsonian Air & Space Magazine. It's regrettable that these aircraft are permitted to continue in routine flight operations with this known structural defect. It appears that safety finishes last within Airbus Industries, behind national pride and economics. Hopefully, this accident will force the issue to be addressed, requiring at a minimum restricted operations of selected platforms, and grounding of some high-time aircraft until a re-engineered (strengthened) vertical fin/rudder attachment structure can be incorporated. Les --------------------------(George Larson's Report)--------------------- This is an account of a discussion I had recently with a maintenance professional who salvages airliner airframes for a living. He has been at it for a while, dba BMISalvage at Opa Locka Airport in Florida. In the process of stripping parts, he seesthings few others are able to see. His observations confirm prior assessments ofAirbus structural deficiencies within our flight test and aero structures communitiesby those who have seen the closely held reports of A3XX-series vertical fin failures. His observations: "I have scrapped just about every type of transport aircraft from A-310, A-320, B-747, 727, 737, 707, DC-3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, MD-80, L-188, L1011 and various Martin, Convair and KC-97 aircraft. Over a hundred of them. Airbus products are the flimsiest and most poorly designed as far as airframe structure is concerned by an almost obsession to utilize composite materials. I have one A310 vertical fin on the premises from a demonstration I just performed.. It was pathetic to see the composite structure shatter as it did, something a Boeing product will not do. The vertical fin along with the composite hinges on rudder and elevators is the worst example of structural use of composites I have ever seen and I am not surprised by the current pictures of rescue crews recovering thecomplete Vertical fin and rudder assembly at some distance from the crashsite. The Airbus line has a history of both multiple rudder losses and a vertical fin and rudder separation from the airframe as was the case in NY with AA. As an old non-radar equipped DC4 pilot who flew through many a thunderstorm in Africa along the equator, I am quite familiar with their ferocity. It is notdifficult to understand how such a storm might have stressed an aircraftstructure to failure at its weakest point, and especially so in the presence ofinstrumentation problems. I replied with this: "I'm watching very carefully the orchestration of the inquiry by French officials and Airbus. I think I can smell a concerted effort to steer discussion away from structural issues and onto sensors, etc. Now Air France, at the behest of their pilots' union, is replacing all the air data sensors on the Airbus fleet, which creates a distraction and shifts themedia's focus away from the real problem. It's difficult to delve into the structural issue without wading into the Boeing vs. Airbus swamp, where any observation is instantly tainted by its origin. Americans noting any Airbus structural issues (A380 early failure of wing in static test; loss of vertical surfaces in Canadian fleet prior to AA A300, e.g.) will be attacked by the other side as partisan, biased, etc. " His follow-up: One gets a really unique insight into structural issues when one has first-hand experience in the dismantling process. I am an A&P, FEJ and an ATP with 7000 flight hours and I was absolutely stunned, flabbergasted when I realized that the majority of internal airframe structural supports on the A 310 which appear to be aluminum are actually rolled composite material with aluminum rod ends. They shattered. Three years ago we had a storm come through, with gusts up to 60-70 kts.,catching several A320s tied down on the line, out in the open. The A320 elevators and rudder hinges whose actuators had beenremoved shattered and the rudder and elevators came off.. Upon closer inspection I realized that not only were the rear spars composite but so were the hinges. While Boeing also uses compositematerial in its airfoil structures, the actual attach fittings for the elevators, rudder, vertical and horizontal stabilizers are all of machined aluminum." -----------------(end of narrative)---------------
  17. Well, with Tiller out of the way, Obama can now claim thousands of future created jobs.
  18. Although you might wanna give Colbert a free pass this week since he's on a USO tour in Iraq entertaining the troops. Even if it's self promotion, he is bringing some joy into their lives. > you might wanna give Colbert a free pass Still doesn't change the fact he's an ASS. As to my thoughs of Glenn Beck, he's a wealthy man.
  19. Quotelessee, using the generally accepted definitions in today's world... 1. Love the Lord. Generally considered to be a "conservative" view, i suppose. 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. Generally a liberal-leaning statement. He was a centrist! > Generally a liberal-leaning statement. Statement yes, but not in practice.
  20. "Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said China, the biggest holder of U.S. Treasuries, has expressed confidence in the U.S. economy and the Obama administration’s actions to fight the recession." A recurring theme between the three articles. I myself am more than just alittle concerned with the amount of debt this nation is continuing to enslave us with not to mention the very real possiblity of Hyperinflaction that may be in our future as well.
  21. I would only add that the Ball Park/Stadium maybe more appropriate for weekly sporting activity. Would the Pastor be allowed to have family and friends over for Thanksgiving if they were to pray over their meal or would that activity only be appropriate at the church?
  22. I think your survey may prove that certain people don't read and comprehend very well! I'm currently seeing 64% of all respondents Republican, yet 72% of all respondents think the Republicans are the minority party in the forum. Uh . . . one possible explaination is that there are more right leaning people who don't post much while fewer left leaning people post more. or you could just use it as "proof" republicans can't comprehend well. OK I voted...now I shall return to my self imposed banning.
  23. Just remember, that all those libs moving down to Florida trying to escape high taxes will once again vote for Libs in Florida requiring you to once again vote with your feet.
  24. Why do people take the time responding to your CRAP? This thread is not worth my time.
  25. Progressives, thats what they like to be called now, are always charitable with money from others, but never their own. But this is a common practice when you have raised a generation who think they are entiltled to free handouts. Now if I could only get free lift tickets.
