  1. > Watching the people in the media and here on this site point fingers about who is to blame is like watching most of the politicians blame the other side for the economy being in the state its in today. Was it management? Yep. Was it unions? Yep. From top to bottom all of the people who are involved in the auto industry were involved. No one is “squeaky clean” when it comes to how they got to where they are. Unfortunately, all of them (and most of the rest of us) will be paying for their mistakes. Thomas Jefferson had this to say, "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." and this to say, "I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale." I think it might be better in the long run for these companies to file Chapter 11, than simply prolong a failed business model.
  2. Austin Texas, Lake Travis "HIPPIE HOLLOW" but its to cold to see anything of interest..Hehehehe..
  3. I clicked on the site and read enough of the commentaries to see they were made by ignorant people trying to sound intelligent. Very funny: Christianity appeals directly to ignorance. From is first inaugural address, George Washington had this to say. "...it would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the People of the United States, a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge." President Washington was far from being ignorant, just a man with firm convictions that he lived by.
  4. That's fine, just don't try to prevent_other_people from hearing it when the Fairness Doctrine comes back for a vote in the US House. First Amendment and all.
  5. > When you kill a man who is no threat to you or your wife because you want him dead for what he did (whether or not you are rationalizing it as "he'll never do that again!") it is a vigilante killing. You are attempting to be judge, jury and executioner No Woman should ever have any respect for any man including her own Husband that would sit on his ass and do nothing. I would think it should give a Lady pause, and she should reconsider her relationship with a man who is not up to the task of protecting her. I guess the women living on the LEFTwest coast have come to this conculsion and have deemed it safer to just lay back and try to enjoy the Rapping because there are no MEN left with the BALLS to be MEN living in and amoung them.
  6. > Hey, I hear rumors that Sarah Palin might run for Republican President in 2012! Won't that be nice? Not what I'm hearing, more likely the Senate. Although it is possible she might be a US Senator prior depending on the out come of the Criminal Proceedings against the current Alaska Senator.
  7. I felt a shiver going up my leg.
  8. > they notify her parents, and they beat the hell out of her for being a whore. Its like talking to a WALL, with comments like the above. Not that the comment is intellectual but emotionally tossed out as if its going to be a common occurrance. Prop. 4 should pass, however in the Land of Fruits and Nuts I'm sure its a toss up.
  9. And what was it before the deregulation of the mid-1980s? Oh, that's right it actually -was- fair and balanced because it required access be given to opposing viewpoints. Is NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, fair and balanced? Did they provide fair and balance coverage prior to the mid 1980's? Would Rush be allowed equal time to responde on the following day?
  10. Ergo, Obama is the candidate of criminals. Got it. Do you people ever listen to yourselves? Obama is the current candidate getting the illegal vote. Do you people ever watch the news?
  11. > You are correct; the biggest problem is increased spending. That's the problem we have to solve first. Bill, I agree with you that we should reduce speeding, however I disagree with you concerning Tax cuts making things worse. Why would we continue to give our money to an out of control Congress so they can continue to throw our money away. I would rather keep my money and pay off my mortgage. Our maybe have additional funds to catch up on retirement savings. Why not demand that our leaders do the right thing, stop spending more than they can legally extort through a Tax Code from the American people.
  12. > This article is even less accurate that most of the biased crap you reprint. Stick to Skydiving, it suits you.
  13. > Programming glitch or CNN poll BS? Watch yourself or I'll ban you a second time.
  14. It appears we now have 33 socialist blogging on DZ.Com.
  15. "The Pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer." Theodore Roosevelt
  16. It appears to be 24 Socialist replying to your poll. It's time for me to put a lock box on my families income. Theodore Roosevelt: "Probably the greatest harm done by vast wealth is the harm that we of moderate means do ourselves when we let the vices of envy and hatred enter deep into our own natures." "If an American is to amount to anything he must rely upon himself, and not upon the State; he must take pride in his own work, instead of sitting idle to envy the luck of others. He must face life with resolute courage, win victory if he can, and accept defeat if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow man a responsibility which is not theirs."
  17. Well, torture is an inflammatory subject. Even McCain can't make up his mind if he's against it or for it. I'm for it when it works.
  18. Membership? Nice try. He was punished.............now back to Obama Was Obama a member of the Weather Underground then, at age 8? Is Ayers a convicted felon, like Keating? To your first point, Obama and Ayers are just dinner pals, although that is a close held secret so don't tell anyone. To your second point, Ayers may not be a felon like Keating, but Rezko sure the hell is.
  19. I'm one of those careless individuals that had four guns end up either being sold for drugs or used to commit crimes. I've since become a better citizen by purchasing a Gun Safe which has been bolted to the floor in my closet. Dame thing weighs just over 800 lbs.
  20. I read portions of it while shopping at Barnes and Noble book store. I found the conversation between the four men as to either kill the man and young boy that stumbled across them or set them free. Killing them seemed to be a good choice if they wanted to live, however the likely hood of ending up on CNN as Murdering Dogs and put away for the rest of their lives was also a concern. Ultimately they made a decission to let them go only to be faced with no less than 150 to 200 men with guns a few hours later. I'm not sure if I remember all the details of the story, however I believe a total of 19 American servicemen gave their lives because of that decission. I think the numbers were 3 Navy Seals killed while on that mountain ridge and 16 Rangers shot down in a Helicopter trying to rescue them.
  21. > I'd say half a mil. $100k is comfortable and $250k is pretty well-off, but not "rich". Jumping into this way late. Comfortable is relitive to where one lives say in Texas yes, $100,000 would make one comfortable, however in San Francisco I would hardly say you could afford a home, much less the taxes. I think the term John is using "RICH" would be a figure that would allow someone to live a life style that gave them freedom of time and freedom to pursue their dreams. So I would agree that $500,000 would be the lowest end of being RICH, unless of course we begin using the word Wealthy which I believe from a WSJ article now begins at 5 million.
  22. If the reason not to execute is related to cost why not model our executions after China. Pop em in the head and harvest their body parts for money.
  23. How is it different? Do you have any evidence suggesting the death penalty works as a deterrent? It works every time its tried...well at least here in Texas. Why have you seen the walking dead?, if so I hear a bullet to the head works. Oh yeah? Please, share the evidence that the death penalty has reduced the incidence of murder. Once again, I'll try and make my point clear. Currently everyone that has been convicted of murder and received a sentence of death and that sentence carried out those individuals have to my knowledge never committed another crime much less murder. So, "death penalty works as a deterrent?" yes it does, because when their dead they tend to remain dead.
