That was a great story and it brings back memories for me as well. I used to have a golden retriever that could catch pheasants during the hunt. Of course he couldn't seem to tell the difference between a cock and a hen. However, it was fun to watch him flush the birds. He would try and hold them down with his front paws or they would flush. Those birds never had any buck shot in them either. He always looked at me like what an idiot when I would let the hens go and they would fly away.

I called Titusville to confirm if they required a "C" license because my daughter who has a "B" license and around 140 jumps wanted to go. I was told that even if she came with an instructor that she might not be able to jump. That part seemed strange since they still do AFF training there but their DZ their rules. They said they wouldn't make the decision until she arrived and I'm guessing that she would have been allowed to jump; however it wasn't assured and she didn't want the hassle. She ended up going to Sebastian, Deland, and Z-hills and had a great time. I have jumped at Titusville three times and FWIW I have always had a better time at the other DZs in the area. The view was great but the vibe was not the best. Of couse when I start hearing positive things about the attitudes at Titusville I will return and reassess my opinion. Hello Jim, Since location isn't a problem and I'm assuming you want to get started I would suggest a place that is warm and a place that also has a wind tunnel. The wind tunnel can help increase your learning curve quickly. The following DZs are well thought of and they either have a wind tunnel on site or it is within easy driving distance. They are all good and training at any of them would be a great experience. I'll add to this thread and repeat a caution like Rdutch did. I saw a person land and he had blood coming down his face becuase the metal frame from the gatorz cut his skin from a hard hit to his helmet. Many people don't have a problem but if you ever take a hit to your helmet, you might want something more forgiving. This question is hard to answer because we can't see you fly. Some people need to repeat an AFF level if they have problems with turning, instability, etc. It will be cheaper to fix the problem in a tunnel setting; however, not everyone has problems. My suggestion would be to wait and IF you have a problem, try and fix the problem in the tunnel. A good tunnel coach will be able to maximize your learning and help you correct poor body position.
