    x-games

Dave has is pegged here- Dropped because of no "instant consumer base" Just like he said, you can't go and buy a rig, skyboard, etc. on the spot and play with it in the drive way- like can be done with just about anything now featured in the x-games- We were talking aobut skydiving and "mainstream" spots recently at the DZ - And y'know what? I bet the mutaul consensus is, 99% of us jumpers DON'T want our sport to be mainstream- We really like things the way they are! What do Y'all think? C-YA!!! ---L Easy Does It
  2. Same goes here - Good to hear you in good spirits, and things will heal well I trust- Here's to a speedy recovery! (tip o'the beer glass-!) Good vibes going your way! -Lenny Easy Does It

    200th post

Good for You! Now you have reason to buy yourself a case of beer! (like skydivers really need a reason to buy and drink beer!) Easy Does It
  5. This kids wear a black Z-1, sometimes with sunglasses underneath. On some rare occasions a black ProTec, and whatever cheap goggles are lying in the bootom of my gear bag. Always have a dytter. Someday I'd like a BoneHead, with the dual dytter option, as I'd like to add a Pro-Track. Blues--- - Easy Does It
  6. Always wondered what exactly the lyrics were- (never bought the album-)
  7. CAn't offer any help on the ringing ears, since mine ring nearly all the time anyway (tinnitus-) But- Do you do the valsalva thing to clear your ears under canopy and when you land? (hold your nose and blow-) I usually do it right after opening and after landing- Plus a little sudafed or somethiing non-drowsy -- But definitely consult the doctor! Easy Does It

    What's good?

Kansas was great last nite - BEtter yet we got free beer and some free food too- Plus got in to the show free- Free is a good thing! Needless to say I was hanging a bit this morning- and got called into work- All done now and I taking my son to the skatepark for a few hours, then setting up the tent in the backyard so he and his buds can sleep out- Yes- Life Is Good! Blue ones all! Easy Does It

    What's good?

What's good? LIFE IS GOOD! I have two of my three wonderful kids visiting me until the 26th - So I'm not doing alot of jumping so as to spend more time with them- I'm going to hear Kansas play tonite- I have a good job, a home, and wonderful 2nd wife, food in the cupboard and a car in the driveway- A great sex life-- My own rig (even though it's not paid for yet-) I pretty much have everything I need and most of what I want- I AM CONTENT!!!! Blue ones y'all! Easy Does It
  10. My thanks also- I was annoyed by it also- Fully agree with mental prep- Had my best skydive ever when I did more mental prep than ever before-(actually spen almost the entire ride up going through the dive in my head-) And if I wasn't dirt diving in my head I was going through emergency procedures- and screwing with the tandems - Well and simply put- BLUE ONES!!! Easy Does It
  11. Schisse- (shy-za) German for "shit" - Knew cat by that name - thought it was kinda neat- Easy Does It
  12. You seem like the revengeful type but, there's an old saying I heard when I was breaking up with my ex--- Success is the best revenge! So I took that to heart-- and-- The next year I landed the GREAT job I have now and doubled my salary- My ex got past the livid stage and just quietly fumes now- Success sure is sweet! ENJOY!!!!! 13. Great post my friend! Maybe we can start to make it cool to be careful and to pull high? Blue ones everybody! --Lenny Easy Does It
  14. Just a few things I would change- Like that cute chick in HS - Didn't know she liked me until after we were both married and had kids- I wouldn't have pursued my favorite sport "brain-cell-killing" as passionately- I REALLY wish I discovered skydiving back then! (I'd have been - still would be- TOTAL DZ trash!!!) Easy Does It

    Back problems

I don't know how you feel about chiropractors (sp?) but mine is a goddess - I get neck and back problems on a regular basis, and she works miracles - I'm usually back up to speed in 2-3 days - But in any case see a professional before jumping again! Blue ones--- -Lenny Easy Does It
  16. Why not work ESPN for a little more and see if they won't get you some gear? At least cover the cost of a demo rig? I'm sure a smokin' deal can be worked out! And congrats, girl! This is definitely somthing special! C-Ya! Easy Does It
  17. I'm jumping a Spectre 150 loaded at about 1.2 -1.3 (depending on the time of year and how much pizza I've had lately-) My opinion is about the same as everyone elses' I'll probably get another Spectre when I wear this one out- Easy Does It

    DZ Politics

Oh- I'm not saying there isn't any political BS at my home DZ- Beleive me there is! But I like to distinguish between politics and personal BS like back stabbing, "romantic" affairs and infidelity and so on- I agree 100% that no matter where you go, the BS abounds! You've got cool people and buttholes no matter where! Easy Does It

    DZ Politics

    DZ Politics

I've only been to two DZ's, one was for one tandem jump, and I heven't been back there yet, and at the DZ I'm at now, which is a small club DZ- I made up my my mind not to get sucked into the political BS from the start, just jump and have fun. No matter what what you will get sucked it somewhat, but you can either keep it to the minimum, and maximize your enjoyment, or vise versa. And it's like I've been jumping forever, but that's politics no matter where you are or what you do. So that's about all I do - I participate in a good share of the club activities, pitch in here and there, but mostly just jump and have fun, which is just what I want out of memebership. Nothing more and nothing less. Easy Does It
  22. I haven't set any goal as to # of jumps, but other goals- Next goal is my B license and I think that if I work a little I may even get my C before the new year- (I'll jump all winter as long as there is altitude and the winds are calm-) By the end of next season I will have my D and perhaps even my Coach rating- And so it goes for goal- setting. Oh, and I'd like to snealk past jump # 100 without getting pied, just to see if I can- C-Ya! -Lenny Easy Does It
  23. Inresponse to your question if some of us Cypres types would jump if I forgot to turn my cypress on - Probably yes - As a matter of fact I got on the Cessna to do a hop and pop and realized after takeoff I'd done just that - I use and condone the use of AAD's, but I jump like I don't have one - I also realize it's a mechanical device and nothing is 100% reliable- (isn't that why we have reserves? And we know they aren't 100% reliable either-) I won't absolutely refuse to jump without one, and I don't bust anyone's nuts for not using one, either. Like I mentioned before, I ride without a helmet- because I like it! No other reason! I know the dangers and am willing to accept the risk. 'nuff said! C-YA!! -Lenny Easy Does It
  24. Several folks reading this thread have asked me to post the circumstances regarding my AAD fire- So here goes- Jump number 15 on a static-line progression - Tracking was the last task on the jump, and this was the first time for me to actually track. around six grand I turned, began to track and got unstable in a head-down, spinning, tumbling I-don't-know-what-the-hell-is-going-on situation- thinking "I have to get stable before I pull-"after what I THOUGHT was just a very few seconds, I arched like a sumbitch and WHAM - Reserve is out over my head- (at about 1200' I think-) So I was unstable, disoriented, unaware of my altitude etc. etc-- All kinds of bad shit- I was just a few seconds away from impact- just a few seconds from leaving three of the worlds greatest kids orphans, leaving my wonderful wife a widow, just a few seconds away from the ultimate reality check- I PERSONALLY OWE MY LIFE TO AN AAD! That's my personal endorsement for AAD's lots of other stuff- Won't go into it here- I have read lots of "I know some one who would still be alive if he had an AAD" stories-- Now you can say "I know of some one who is STILL alive because he DID have an AAD". For what it's worth to y'all--- BLUE SKIES!!!!! (and COLD BEER!) C-YA! -Lenny Easy Does It
  25. I've had it happen twice- My flatline is set at 2 grand, and it came on just as the slider hit the stops Easy Does It
