I've seen this pic before - Never ceases to amaze me! Another one I've seen is a jet (F-14?) going through the sound barrier- mist cloud and all- REALLY cool! I'd love to get that in poster-size? Anybody know which photo I'm speaking of? The Phantoms I worked on (F-4Es and RF-FCs) all had Martin-Baker 0/0 seats in them. I witnessed a double punch-out at 200' agl and fairly low speed - the aircraft was doing touch-and-gos so I imagine they were around 200+ mph? Pilot was fine, the GIB had a minor spine crunch but was walking around after landing. Last I knew the B-52 still has one or two downward-ejecting seats- Easy Does It

Cool Val! Y'all can look for a tattoo of a flying eyeball - It's attached to my right arm- Either that or I'll be wearing a T-shirt from Danielsons' DZ --- I'll be there both Sat and at least part of Sunday. C-Ya There!!! Easy Does It

Not sure how things look during the week - Best bet is to give a call 1-800-ET-CHUTE. I would guess things will be hopping more in the evenings, after work- Y'know? It'll be my beer jump out of a CASA, too! Easy Does It

Well - Back to the original post - people now know better thatn to ask me about the weekend, my collection of Harley t-shirts is slowly being replaced by skydiving t-shirts - Actually, I still buy Harley t-shirts, too, and wear them to the DZ - I wear Skydiving t-shirts to work. You will talk to anyone about skydiving any chance you get. There's a joke- Q. How do you know there's a skydiver in the room? A. They'll tell you. Don't worry - you're one of us- You'll be fine! Easy Does It

Been there done that, bro! It'll be rough, but as has been mentioned before- You have a great excuse to be a total man-slut for at least six months- You can party and jump whenever you want, leave the seat up, watch TV all weekend if it's raining, etc, etc-- Hey- That doesn't sound so bad---- Oh Hell- It's starting to sound like FUN! Now where's MY cutaway handle-----? Seriously - We're all here - You've got one hell of a support group! Hang tough! C-Ya!!! Easy Does It

I'll go with you on that! My wedding band comes off if I'm not wearing gloves, and even if I am it's off anyway, just in case- And I wore my necklace in the air - once - and it flapped all over the place after if snuck out of my jumpsuit. But to each his own- Easy Does It

200 jumps? Never heard of that one- I got one for my daughter, that matches mine, just 'cuz she thought it looked cool, and NONE of her friends know what it is- nor would they understand! I think it's really neat! I never wore anything but my wedding band until I started skydiving - not even a watch. I don't even own a working watch! Easy Does It
-
We wear them to --- hehehehehe---- Keep the whuffos guessing-- They ususally just look at mine with a puzzled look on thier face, and I can tell they too scared to ask what it's about- I like it, in a subtly twisted sort of way- Easy Does It

Myself, I went the S/L route, and overall the cost is about the same- One reason I chose Static was more jumps per buck, and if you do need to repeat a level, it's not as pricey. I did a total of 20 some-odd jumps and when I tallied it all up, it was about the same as an AFF progession, with a few extra jumps thrown in. I can't speak with any authority on AFF. What I might reccomend to anyone just starting is to download or buy a copy of the SIM and use it to review and reinforce what you learn at the DZ. My .02, for what it may be worth!! Easy Does It

Congrats, Man! I remember when I made E-5 - I was walking on air for a while! Did you get the day off? More important, did you get a low line number? (I had to wait almost nine months to sew it on!) Congrats again!!! Easy Does It

A few more I picked along the way- "Do unto others - then split!" "Do unto others before they do unto you." And one I saw on a t-shirt. The shirt had a picture of a white rabbit, with a raging woody. The rabbit had a sign - The said "f*ck it, before it f*cks you" LIVE BRAVELY!!! C-Ya 'all! Easy Does It

Plain and simple--- LIVE BRAVELY! Easy Does It

Nudity in the kitchen sounds like alot of fun- How many POPS members are out there with less than 100 jumps? Another suggestion I got was new speakers for my truck, but that sounded kinda lame for a 40th-- Easy Does It

Ok here's the poop - I'll be turning 40 in a couple weeks- (september 3rd) The wife asks me what I want- (she knew it would be skydiving related) Choices - New helmet - Bonehead Mindwarp Pro-Track - (I alrady have a Dytter) New Jumpsuit - RW type from ZuteSute- What to do? Decisions descisions--- Any suggestions? Thanx in advance!! -Lenny! Easy Does It
-
I started out with a Dytter, telling myself when I got the $$$ up I would buy a ProTrack and have two audibles plus a logger - Well, I still just have the Dytter to provide me with a friendly reminder - and I forget to log at the end of the day - Depends on what you wnat and what you can afford- Easy Does It
-
yeah, so, like when does this whole thing become affordable again?
Dumpster replied to Newbie's topic in The Bonfire
mmmmmm - affordable? Let's see - I'm lucky enough to have an understanding wife, I sell scrap metal and take odd jobs to pay for my habit, but I'm careful with the odd stuff 'cuz it can't interfere with weekends - Haven't resorted to packing yet, and things are slow enough at the DZ I probably wouldn't make much anyway- Haven't considered selling body parts or fluids yet - (not that anyone would want them in the first place - Good news is I'll be finished paying support on 1 of 3 kids in three years, that will pay for about 3-4 jumps a week, so I figure when all three are paid off (11 years from now) I'll have lots of jump money but will be into my 50's - so as long as my body holds out It'll be good- But when I tell whuffos it only costs about 15-20 bones a jump they say "that's not bad--" If I were single? I'd live at the DZ in a VW microbus, eating Ramen, and any girlie action would be whatever the Great Spirits sent my way- I would be DZ trash to the max, man! Easy Does It -
3.(number of hours spent humping a jackhammer - busting up concrete where my shed used to be-) 0:0 Wonderful weekend weather - Worked on the humble homestead all weekend, went riding wioth thw misses Sat nite, we went up to the DZ for the club meeting, then back home- (nice 2 hours on a great warm evening!) Can't wait for the Heartland Boogie next weekend- I'll be at the DZ all weekend and jumping my ass off- WOO HOO! Easy Does It
