  1. I started with basic 2-4 ways. WHen people knew I was fien with those adn wouldn't funnel an exit I started being base for dives up to about 12. These were just organized by jumpers around the DZ... tehn I started fillign positions like first diver/second diver- staying closer to the base. just get bigger gradually... Did some 16 way competition in ZHills, then a big way skills camp in NC. Be careful who you get with on the bigger ways, things can get hairy up there! Even if you are OK, you still have to be concerned about how everyone else is flying... a 41 way in NC resulted in a very unorganized landing pattern which made for an interesting experience.... Also try to jump with organizers. I feel much better being on a 20+ way with Boxman or Roger Ponce than a pickup dive at the DZ. Just my .02! Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  2. move to PA or NJ!!! Come to Cross Keys!!!!! =c) We light people on fire!!! well not unless they sign consent forms that is... and only on major holidays.... Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  3. I know that monkey claw would definitely approve of that type of inflatable... they may even do free vid and pay your slot for that one!!! Wingi- Too crazy? hard to not get too crazy esp a jam weekend!!!! Seriously, you haven't lived until you've been to a Monkey Jam. They always feature some sort of infaltable attraction- Sumo, gladiator, bungee... etc etc. Last year was naked bungee run. The weekends get crazier and crazier as the summer progresses. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  4. Pammi- the tired thing is totally normal! Saturday our clouds burned off at 1, and I was competing in NSL which meant we had to get in 6 rounds that day before sunset. starting at 1 we were premanifested on every 3rd load until sunset. I only did 6 jumps that day total, which is average for me on a weekend... but between jumping, landing, 5 minute pack job (yeah grogs i CAN pack in 5 and it opens safely!!), 20 minutes of dirt diving for the next round, then in the plane again... you feel like some one beat you with a club (a good club though- we won! 30 minutes of free tunnel time!!)! And people say skydiving isn't hard. That irritates me more than anything... I just want to show them a vid of a point flying sidebody-donut to sideflake donut. i work more in those few seconds than in a 9-5 work day. for less pay, too. =c) ramble ramble.... =c) Blues- Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  5. you are talking to a weekend organized by monkeys. they will jump with anything i'm sure. Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

Tracking seminar is on the books. rumor about some wing suit stuff as i think the DZ owns a few wing suits now... - monkey claw will be doing coaching and stuff for all levels of freeflying 'nuff said? check out http://www.monkeyclaw.com for details on the Jam itself and our events calendar at http://www.freefalladventures.com/news/events.htm reason # 28- it's also my 1 year anniversary at Cross Keys!!!!! weather good or bad the monkeys always provide a good time. i don't think stuey has had a boring moment in his life... =c) So we'll see ya this weekend????? 10. hey! there's nothing wrong with doing it all! I try to do everything. I really prefer CRW and RW, but I'll go up with freefliers too for a kickin' head down jump. After a long day of Ponce-ways and crankin' 4way my brin needs a break so a nice head down does the trick. I'm starting freestyle coaching now too. why not? people at the DZ start to see that you can truly fly in all dimensions. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

    Cross Keys Wkend

Well we got to meet teh one and only SpeedRacer! Got to witness some classic NJ weather- beautiful morning then a big thunderstorm that clears in an hour. The DZ was pretty smoking this weekend I must say.. sorry about that mispoured shot, speedy. =c) On a good note too- I did my first four way with vertical drills included. 13 points on a dive with two vertical changes- accordion-break-accordion and zigzag-marquis. Flying in burbles is definitely fun!!! Started some coaching in head down freestyle too. The US National CRW team (8 way speed) was training at Cross Keys this weekend and that was amazing to watch. 230 jumps, no reserve sightings yet. Stacy D 24017 Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  14. I've worked manifest at cross keys since last july. I get to jump a fair amount, as when teh tandems tend to be finished for the day (4 PM briefing) I still have a good 4 hours of daylight left. I get in over 10 jumps a week while still working. also since there are 5 of us working in manifest at once, we will rotate out. thigns work themselves out. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

    Lift Price

Cross Keys price varies according to your alti. a 3 K hop n pop is 10 bucks. regular altitude is 13.5 (usually 14.5 on sunset loads) and that is 16.50 on FrankenOtter, which can get 23 jumpers to altitude in 12 minutes ( I timed him today!!!) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  16. yep I know Lauren! Great girl, her mom and dad are INCREDIBLE skydivers who basically hand picked her instructors for AFF. I've jumped several times with her. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  17. I'll be there all day Saturday. Look in manifest if it's before about 3:30, after I'll be jumping probably with Boxman or Roger Ponce, depending on who's doing what. I'll definitely be on the sunset big way though!!! YAHOOO!O!!!! Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  18. THE MONKEY CLAW FREEFLY JAM! Around the world drinks, hangar rave, freefliers from all over the US, stearman, caravan, frankenotter, maybe a casa, food... tiki bar.... Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  19. exactly! that's what I say. why pay utilities when you can jump? must be a cross keys philosophy. =c) but really thank you guys for taking care of manifest. =c) ya know we don't have coffee filters back there... we had to use napkins... =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  20. Chances are it just needs cleaned. A friend of mine had a wierd problem with hers and Alti II tested it, just needed taken apart and cleaned. Alti II would do this for you or I'm sure a rigger could. Just a guess. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

  22. it was a great weekend at cross keys! Boxman is now here for the entire summer for organizing, and weid- you're from jetstream, right? thanks for the coffee and pretzles, you guys are definitely on manifest's good side!! =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  23. yepo i'll definitely be around this weekend. hopefully more organized stuff like last weekend! had some kickin' jumps! Beware of the Super Swoopin' Ice Tea at the bar.... Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  24. I've jumped both canopies. No negatives about either of them at all. They fly very similarly with only minute in my opinion differences. I've jumped both in sizes that make my wing loading about 1.3-1.4. Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

    My First snivel

isn't CRW great? =c) I never truly appreciated what a parachute can do until I had someone standing in my lines and climbing on my risers. =c) and you learn to expect off DZ landings a lot. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
