  1. 5??? we had like 3 carts!!! me and one of our Skydive U coaches, who is smaller in size than Kell is- we looked like we were stocking up for a club in philly! Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  2. I think the Taurus will work just fine. =c) It worked the night of Americas Cup this summer when I was sent with $400 for beer alone. I certainly hope that you dont' run up that much of a beer tab in 3 jumps!!! =c) You think you feel at home now... just wait till the first night out at the bar when your song, Buttercup, comes across the system... heh heh.. mebbe I'll get matty or jason to make a nice mix of it... =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  3. sounds like a track to me... a brave TM you had there!! =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  4. now that you mention it... i bet i can come up with a lot of beer froggie owes.... first time laughing from 50 feet across the hangar (hey I'm not taking you to buy it until Saturday night.. ya never know..), first time watching me pack, first time sitting on the picnic table, you should bring your dollie to help haul your beer on sat!!! =c) You're lucky I've got a Taurus... we could borrow the DZ truck or maybe the big van... hmmm.... 5. forward motion is sometimes referred to as tracking in student jumps from what I've noticed. I could be wrong on this, but it's been my observation. Maybe this is because the *ideal* track is flat and forward in nature... I wouldn't think that a tandem would do a diving track, but maybe I'm wrong. Just my .02... =c) Blue Ones! 6. congrats!! good cuz my CRW beer ran out. Kruse and I were the only ones who knew where i hid it. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

    pure torture

I'm sorry froggie! winds were ok in the early AM. grounds were OK, but there was the every so many minutes gust to abotu 26 which is a definite no for AFF. I scratched off a load because i wasn't comfortable with gusts that different from the surface winds. You know I'm scared when I scratch a rockin' 4 way... =c( Stacy Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  8. night jumps... not too scary, i thought they were quite peaceful actually. open canopy, full moon usually, it's pretty incredible. landing is interesting. the observers all commented on my strobe bouncing through the peas.... =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  9. first things i bought were an alti, goggles, and gloves. I'm wierd about having sensitive hands so i wore gloves even in the summer. You can pick up a suit from a gear store (used or even new- I got one that was made for someone but didn't fit correctly. really cheap, great for those first landings when demoing new gear). After I finally got my own gear and was happy with my landings, etc, then got a custom suit made. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  10. I was just under the impression that a "tandem factory" DZ did obnoxious #s of tandems in comparison to other DZs. Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  11. nothing happened. it was the end of the day and I was just packing it for the rigger, as he's putting slinks on my rig this week. he said he'd repack it when he was done. as for the CRW. DEFINITELY try it. I can't explain the feelign in words, it's a whole different type of adrenaline. I dont' think I truly appreciated the "miracles" that canopies are capable of until i had someone climbing down my lines. the downplane was incredible, it gave the feeling that i was in freefall again with an open canopy. I'm really glad that there's someone like Kruse at my DZ so I can do stuff like that. There are two pics that were taken from the ground on Saturday of it, not really clear, but you can see the 'plane! http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks/downplane.jpg http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks/downplane2.jpg Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  12. see but the time it didnt' take me 3 hours to pack look what happened. always remember to set your brakes. =c) and who didn't buy their beer this weekend? I took my case for my downplane... Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  13. i believe my count sits at 7 long sleeved t shirts (go fast, cross keys, airs[eed world team, jumpfish, sunshine factory, freefly guys, and a monkeyclaw one), 3 short sleeved Tshirts (Americas Cup 2000, Colegiate nationals, and a parachuting is dangerous one) and a fleece. Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  14. thanks catscan!!! firefly made 'em for me. awesome people. and they have neat-o metallic silver on them. not gray silver, mind you, metallic that matches my alti. =c) As I dont' freefly much anymore (RW all the way!!!) they are now my CRW pants. =c) Did a Downplane this weekend!!! WAHOO!!! Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  15. Happy birthday to you... enjoy your raviolis, and I'm sorry that it had to snow... =c( let me know when you plan to do the jump and I'll come out and get on the load with ya!!! =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  16. Watching someone bounce is not soemthing that can be described in words. It's somethign that pretty much every skydiver will probably witness one day, whether it is someone you know or a stranger. Unfortunately I had to witness two bounces within 3 days this winter in Florida. It's indescribable, all I can say is get back in the air ASAP and make your decisions wisely when jumping. addictions?

Dan I know who you are!!! Is clark making you go to strip clubs again???? Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  18. i sure will. he laughs about it now. he's abit of a cold weather chicken so he wont' be back out until spring really starts up. =c) And lets make the 20 foot rule 50. Things echo in the hangar. =c) I also just thought I would say, it's March. AND in exactly 2 days you will be jumping. =c) See ya on the King Air! Stacy Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  19. losing your voice... this summer i had tonsilitis and strep and was still working manifest.. my voice was so raspy that someone called and thought they had a 1900 number. I believe the exact response was "what kind of freefall adventures are there here???!!!" Hence the "1-900-SKYDIVE" written on the tiki bar... =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

    Ripcord

i dunno, never had a ripcord... had BOC in AFF. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  21. That was pretty near hysterical. I had no idea what to expect when i clicked on that... =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  22. I'll have to ask him when I see him. He was pretty embarassed about the whole ordeal, actually. Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  23. only twice I've come close to chopping. Once was a hard pull (that I did not pack), but the third yank finally got it. the other time was a set of NASTY line twists. I never wanna have to kick that long again!!! Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  24. There was an AFF student I talked to this past summer who thought that clouds were poisonous gases and that he would die if he breathed in them. Needless to say he came down from some jumps fairly out of breath and red faced, petrified of the dangerous clouds. =c) Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
  25. you are in big trouble now that i have learned that little piece of info. i think Cross Keys may have to invest in that CD for the Tiki bar... this could get amusing.... my acrobatics and your karaoke... hmmm Stacy http://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks
