Those pics remind me of Austin Powers... "Minime, stop humping the LASER..." could be adapted: "Test pilot, stop humping the jet engine..." "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Nice shots, and they wouldve been nicer with a still. Makes me want to trade my video cam for a still...

I like it.. I think it should be a manufacturer supplied option. Having it float is a good idea too. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

This is just a guess in the dark...but what about adding a type 17 backstrap connecting the hip rings? for articulated harnesses, would this be easier than sewing onto the top of the legstrap? Obviously the scorpion. We tried these sorts of deathmatches when boredom set in on overseas desert deployments. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Perhaps you might be lucky enough to get Omar to do an intermediate suit review, like he did with the acrobatic suits. I think he did a good job of it last time. Both suits seem to work well but for the habitual hair-splitters that need an emipirical answer requires thorough back to back testing like Omar did. Good point, I didnt anticipate the sarcasm, now I can see it having either of two meanings. If it had been my neighborhood I would have risked the firearms charge guessing that the neighbor who's child I just saved from the dogs wouldnt rat me out. Life/limb versus a charge that I might have a good chance of beating anyways... "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

I got the exact opposite from that. That they were very unfortunate people because nobody in the neighborhood brought their gun out to end it (or didnt HAVE guns?? that would be crazy; unfathomable). That is my recommendation to that neighborhood, somebody bringing their gun out is the only thing that would've stopped them sooner. Or a multitude of animal control officers arriving instantaneously. edited to say: "Guns are good, guns are our friends." That is pretty sad, since I got 4 yesterday at your DZ. 1 from 2, 1 from 5, and 2 at the top. Pretty nice day actually, much better than forecasted. It's common for the forecasting to be moderately wrong up here. -T "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Have you performed mods or configuration changes on the skydiving gear to help it emulate BASE gear(if feasible), or simply written off all those differences into the higher deployment altitude? thanks. I looked in the manual, and it appears to be a good copy of the Wings handle. It might be more secure because it tucks into both the pouch and the flap, but still has the entanglement hazard string. The video is now on the BM site. The misleading, but very comical title I found entertaining. But of course we don't need to go there. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Well, if Mr. Booth at RWS admittedly uses each and every nonessential piece of safety equipment (he mentioned he needs all the help he can get in regards to safety) and is therefore 'device dependent', I think it's okay for us less experienced folks too. For me, I don't feel any more or less safe when I jump without them for short term, but over the long run I do prefer to have them. It's really no big deal if you just bundle up like you're going skiing. Worst that could happen is you encounter some hail or snow, that's about it. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Nice video, despite the file size. I was wondering what the strings hanging out the door were for tho. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Oh, good point! I have plenty of BEER too! Nah, I'm not gonna share with the little twerps. How cruel! not even 1 or 2 bags just in case some show up! I think that comes pretty close to Halloween grinchhood. -T "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

That's the equivalent of choosing 'E' on a standardized 'A' through 'D' multiple choice test. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

2nd choice, because for best glide you want the suit to dive and pick up drive. Also because you want to fight the throw of the plane as much as possible. -T "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

So for a newer jumper, such as the thread author, who is looking for equipment that can provide extra safety in bad conditions, and who obviously can't fly a Velocity, there are no canopies out there that would help (like a Lotus or a 7-cell, or any other)? 2nd try was nice. Don't know what ground speed the plane was at, but looks faster than you were going. You might also try cutting the corner more. Nice demonstration was done by Tristan Whitmarsh in Jarno Cordia's video a while back. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it.
