  2. According to what I remember Mr. Booth saying in his last radio broadcast, this will happen once the Skyhook has such a bulletproof reputation that licensing it won't risk it's lifespan. 5. yea... it's a double-edged sword you played with there. I know because I was in the same place. On the one hand it's nice to be able to do low S-turns, but if you don't watch it they suck you into complacency or lack of focus and into doing them too low (
  6. How close? okay, I have several formulae for this, lemme run it through and do the data analysis...(ok, add, carry the one, multiply) ah.. yes.. I've got it: Too Close. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  7. So if he did get all the necessary paperwork for the jump, what did he do differently (wrongly) from another jumper who may have contacted the locals and been caught? If people have been caught there before then why was it not burned until this jump? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. 10. I guess that's one of the reasons I use an aad that doesn't have a lifetime.. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  11. Yes, tragically that option doesn't come along with the other WS options, and is the hardest to get, since it's only made for certain sizes.. edit: I think you have to be 135/150 or smaller combo to qualify.. 12. Well, there would still be the Coast Guard.. You forgot the most effective means of fighting crime and conducting wars. Whistles and letters. Blow a whistle, and threaten to blow it again if the evil-doer persists, OR (even harsher) we could get upset, and write them a letter telling them how upset we are! Of course, those measures are considered a bit heavy-handed these days... "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  13. I don't think that's what he meant, as obviously none have auto-pilot mode yet. I took it as the GS1 is comparatively more demanding of pilot attention than others. I have heard this several times before from different people. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  14. See, all better now.. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

  18. I think it could have something to do with a common mistake people make, along the lines of "don't mistake kindness for weakness"... perhaps because their superficiality prevents them from taking the time to learn about someone enough to know the difference. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  19. Damn... that's naasty... I'd get that looked at if I were you! Looks like it's about to blow apart at any time... Yeah, I would say you may have to ship the legwing back to the factory to have it inspected/rebuilt/replaced. Upon inspecting it yourself you didn't find anything out of order on the outside skin of the wing (holes, cuts, etc)? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. 25. Do you know that he's actually lost? What if he knows the area and was just out for a stroll, socializing with the locals, intending to head back home when it got dark, except that somebody kidnapped him? Sure, he might not mind too much cause you treat him well, but as you say, he likely does have a family that expected him back or misses him. Just a thought. Who knows, maybe if you take him for a walk he'll lead you back to his house. I dunno, that's all I could come up with. edit: A friend of mine got a dog kinda in this way, except the dog came to him, at his house. Just showed up, so he started feeding it and the dog never left since. It does/goes whatever it wants, but always comes right back. Very nice dog. We figure the dog was a runaway from a bad home, and has now landed at a good home. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it.
