    LQRS Side

2 LQRSs??? that's just crazy talk man!! Yea, if you were to make it standard on the left there would be no question where it is and it would shorten lead times too much. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

    LQRS Side

So BM can't decide which side to put the LQRS on... GTIs--> Left side Firebird and S3S--> Right side Not that it's a high-use item, but some uniformity/standardization would be nice. edit for thread title ~TA "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. 4. 9' is just fine, even for full flight deployments. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  5. Thoughts? yes,interesting... ;) Yes, I would like to hear the impressions as well, coming from the standpoint that I already know, or "know" which is best. The superior design is better, and that should tell you right off which suit that is... "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. 6. Bill, Just trade it out for Jay's canopy, cause when I flew Jay's last Saturday it worked fine. He won't notice.. -TR "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  7. Yes, J, I was hoping the Phantom and Acro flight manuals might be posted soon. Anything to make the next few weeks go by quicker.
  8. Ohhhhh... you mean PHI not PFI... got really confused there for a minute. Yea, would be nice to see some flocking footage. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  9. That is in fact the only weekend in August that I'll be busy with other stuff. But I still need more gym time on the shoulders more to increase stamina and extend my low numbers to the entire flighttime. Hopefully Paul, Mike, and Dave will be there though. TR edited: ok, yes, so i got off topic there a bit, oh well. ;) "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  10. Uh oh, now you gone and done it.... wrote that first divisive post to dichotomize the masses. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  11. Yes, certainly a very impressive picture indeed. The chest strap says it all. http://www.bird-man.com/images/attachments/_07_19_2005-IMGP3626.JPG "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  12. Because from what I have seen/do and have watched others do, arms don't get zipped down all the way till somewhere remotely close to the climbout/exit. Leg wing is put on before getting in, so this exit you described is what I would be using. The LQRS comment was perhaps misguidedly made coming from the stance of being in the front of a big a/c with rear door, last out, and prioritizing the quicker exit (running instead of hobbling) over stable exit on a reserve hop n pop. I feel that getting out quicker and therefore with more altitude is better than trying to get a stable exit on a reserve hop n pop in a diving plane. But that's just me, I always go for the most-altitude option. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  13. Don't think there is a minimum. With the altitudes youre speaking of, you wouldnt even be zipped in yet, so if anything just pull the LQRS to get full range of motion(if you feel you need it). But you can just as easily jump out with leg wing collapsed too. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  14. So what happened to this? I've been checking the BM site thinking the S5 would be up there. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  15. Yea, would be nice to hear Perry's point of view, too bad he's not on here anymore Well, of course if you fly 2 V1s you'll get closure rates even higher than in this instance, around 250 MPH. It's the closest anybody will get to demonstration teams regularly doing the same in fighter jets closing around 800 MPH. 16. This might be a bit more than 2 cents: I think the experience levels were not the safest for it, but nothing was wrong with the dive plan itself. It was like doing a Blue Angels/Thunderbirds show (where they fly at each other banked at opposing 90s) with low-time pilots. I cannot condemn the dive plan merely because it's riskier than regular WS, just like I cannot condemn swooping simply because it is riskier than regular landings, and swooping is even at the top of the incident reports. It was not a surprise manuever, so everyone knew of and accepted the risks of the dive during the planning, just like on every other dive plan. Anybody who does not understand and accept the risks and hazards is potentially a hazard themselves, and shouldn't be on a dive they don't understand or have the skill for. Skydiving is about freedom so arbitrarily and subjectively condemning/outlawing/etc certain dive plans just because it's riskier defeats the purpose, not to mention how many things would have to be banned (CRW, FF, CP, speed diving, just about everything fun) Basically with better pilots it could have been done reasonably safely (or safer than it was). 17. Thank you very much, I'm happy to see my color selections came out looking good. I was thinking about doing a different color for the body back than the body front, but nah.. too complicated. 18. F%&* that was fast! The ending could have been better tho.. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

    Nylon Crack

Yea, it's as addicting a discipline as skydiving is as a sport. When I first started jumping and reading about WS, I saw the prices of suits and thought "no way man, that can't be nearly worth that much money". Months later when I got enough experience and started WS, I somehow quickly found the money for a new suit. I just hope I can retain some marginal level of control over it. 20. Taking the airlock to be an evolution/improvement of the basic RAM air design, is the Paratec RAGE design an evolution/improvement on airlocks, and therefore the latest/greatest technology in terms of safety and performance?? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  21. So the production date got pushed back. It is nice to see WS getting bigger in general though, with many factories and suits coming out. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  22. IMO, No problem. You should be just fine. The bigger risers and rings can handle more weight and have more leverage for cutaways, but I haven't heard of anybody regretting using the smaller stuff, so as long as you maintain it properly, should be no problems. 23. Another idea as well: Or you could attach an Eye bolt with the Eye coming out the bottom of the beam, then the rope would swing without hitting anything. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  24. Well, apparently it can glide at 4:1 ?, which is awesome..but, I dont suppose you'd be able to flock with Skyrays would ya? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
  25. So we have to endure road rage in traffic all the way to the DZ, then Air Rage in traffic on the landing pattern? Interesting. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957
