A quick question/comment on workers comp... Other industries have used the 1099 and "independent contractor" route to eliminate the need for expensive workers comp premiums. However, insurance companies are pretty savvy. They can require a business to show proof that all its "independent contractors" possess their own workers comp policies as a stipulation to that businesses policy. We may get to the point where each TI (independent contractor) will need to purchase his/her own worker comp policy. Something that will be very difficult to do, much less afford. So, if we're going to lawyer bash, maybe we should take a swing or two at the insurance companies? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I get why you ask this question. But really, who cares. We'll never stop the sales! I'm not sure we even have the right... free society and all. However, as seen in this thread, we can stop unqualified individuals from jumping them. Agree or disagree with the tone that was used, but the message got thru. Where and how can we get our "Autographed" copies? I teach High School TV & Video Production. I take the students thru the basics to get them started. Most are hungry for more info than I can offer. Not if it's me or one of my friends he slams into!!! This issue has a global affect. I agree, it should be handled by the DZO. But, to think it only affects the DZO is wrong. I disagree here Ron. People need to understand that nothing about posting anything anywhere in cyber space is "Personal". If you say something stupid anywhere in cyber space, it can and probably will be used against you. It makes us think twice before typing negative comments. Maybe, that's a good thing.

Try pushing the (unrolled) nose into the center of the material as you propack (just before you wrap the tail)... I've found that to cure my opening problems more than rolling the nose. It also gives me onheading openings. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Although I would tend to agree with the uncocked theory... As I said above, it may not be a problem/mal. If you've ever watched a pilot chute above a jumper, it dances around wildly in the burbal. A single snapshot of the pilot chute (still image) may have just captured the pilot chute as it was deflated, making it appear to be uncocked. A spike in fatalities/injuries? Don't worry about it? Umm.... NO! We should definitely worry, discuss, troubleshoot, categorize, or whatever it takes to minimize the carnage. Looking for similarities in incidents is a way of identifying causes and a beginning point for eliminating the problems. Worry away!

God! That'd make Twardo like... 160 years old? I'm sorry. Did I type that out loud? I've been looking for two larger canopies for both my rigs. I now jump a 135 Sabre and a 135 Stiletto. I'm looking for a couple 150 Stiletto's. I figure I'm old enough to get the senior discount, so, I'm old enough to upsize. ... and, thanks for starting this thread. Here's my bias... Anything in moderation is not going to kill you and to each his own! However, where sky diving is concerned, my personal expectation is that if you get in the airplane with me, do so sober. This DZO is probably connected to the community. He has a reputation to maintain. Openly smoking a fatty on the DZ (even after hours) is bad for this DZO! Period! Anyone who does anything to bring negative attention to this business owner is being disrespectful. What Twardo said, "If you can't do the time"... don't get caught.
