The difference between the to candidates is obvious if you look at their track records. Mitt governs from the center even though he panders to the far right to get their nomination and vote. Obama governs to the far left and panders to the center to get votes. While pandering is a major distraction and turn off and allows each side to call the other a "liar" and all kinds of other crap that distracts from the real issues, it's become almost a necessity in a 2 party system. It's why track records have become really important..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Tax break for shipping jobs overseas? Well, sort of

So reading the posts, there is only one comment on the original topic. Is this thread officially hijacked like a plane bound to Libya? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. To quote Romney in the debates: Ronald Reagan inherited a far worse economy with over 10% unemployment and he turned it around in his first term." Guess that's why he got a second.... Tax break for shipping jobs overseas? Well, sort of
jgoose71 replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Obama keeps claiming that he is going to fix the job market by ending tax breaks for companies that ship jobs over seas. If you really want to know about all those tax breaks, read here: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/04/fact-check-tax-break-for-shipping-jobs-overseas/ The questions I have are 1. If you don't allow them to right off the expense of moving, do you really think that will stop them? The cost of doing business in the U.S. is already some of the highest in the world, I don't know if that would be a deterrent. 2. How do you tax businesses over seas? Right now the tax code makes sense. Don't tax the money until it comes to the U.S. because you really don't know where those products are going until someone requests them. And if you tax the corporate headquarters in every country they do business in, wouldn't you be encouraging the company to just leave the U.S. all together? 3. Do you really think these additional taxes will help the trillion dollars of debt? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. I was watching the live stream on my phone so I didn't get the audio Did anyone hear why he went unstable for a while? I was starting to worry there for a second until he got stable again. Also, I wouldn't worry to much about the bill. From what I understand, a lot of the notes and any new technology they developed along the way will be sold to various space agencies to help develop or improve escape mechanisms for astronauts.... Two things,: 1. Most cops are good. They joined the force to help people. It's a shame that a lot of their good work goes unnoticed. 2. There are a few cops out there that joined for the power trip. Next time you see a bad cop and they refuse to fire him, thank a liberal. When you give bad cops guaranteed employment and collective bargaining rights, well, you deserve what you get. Fox News audio manipulation of the VP debate

I am more likely to believe that MSNBC played with Bidens audio to make him sound less like the shrill condescending asshole that he is... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Believe it or not, this has been well documented. Just like with any other enema your body can only hold it for a maximum of five minutes. This is the fastest way for your body to absorb alcohol. If you take a "but chug" of whiskey, the rate of absorption would kill you from alcohol poisoning as documented on "1000 ways to die" TV show. In retrospect, I know way to much about this subject.... I will be watching the debate. The only reason i will be watching it is because their is so much mis-information being disseminated by both sides that it will be interesting to hear what they have to say when they are standing right next to each other. If the moderator is doing his job, he will be asking questions to set the record straight. Also, with so much media bias, hopefully the same questions will go to each candidate so we can get an answer and rebuttal unfiltered.... Here is to hoping..... Yep, tesla's get 300 miles per charge, and they also have technology now where you can get half a charge on your battery in 30 minutes: http://www.teslamotors.com/supercharger As I've posted earlier, battery technology is going to improve even more in the next 3 years. New cathode technology will double existing mileage: http://www.forbes.com/sites/yonicohen/2012/03/21/envias-energy-dense-battery-could-cut-electric-vehicle-costs/ And other technologies that are going to make electric car batteries stand up to extreme environments: http://news.discovery.com/autos/a123-battery-breakthrough-120613.html Like I've said before, people will buy a car for a lot of money if they feel the car is worth it. Chevy fucked up by selling a $16,000 (Cruze) car for $50,000(volt). Audi sells Q7's for $60,000 all day long because they are worth it. About 3 more years and Tesla will have worked the bugs out and battery technology will have driven the price cheaper, with longer distance and more reliability, and they will sell. You can buy stock now, or wish you did later.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Then we're even. I doubt Clinton ever did that either. No, Clinton didn't do that. Pretty sure he told her to use ice and menthol cough drops in her mouth though.... Yes you did make an error. You forgot to explains left's contradiction when it comes to the support of Muslims and Women's rights. Of course, if I was on the left, I would dodge at all costs too... And once again, you are going off on a tangent Bill, Solar energy will be used here in America, but the "Green" Industry and jobs will never take off. Why? Because all companies that we start here will be undercut by cheap Chinese Manufacturers. We've seen it in both the wind and solar industries. No one will be able to afford these until we get jobs. I'm thinking I'm going to move to china or brazil. Maybe then ford will hire me. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Is that what Invisible Obama says? I'd love to be able to see Invisible Obama and see what the right wing fuss is all about. Your missing the point. Republicans are at war with women. We republicans need to treat women in this country more like the Muslims do. Maybe then Republicans will get the same level of respect from democrats as Muslims do. other than on university computers to the internet, you mean I'm sure Prof Sweet was also under a similar instruction. I'm sure she's the ONLY one in all of academia pulling this crap..... As much as I'm also sure that for every prof forcing left wing philosophy on her students there's a prof doing for the right too.......................... Ummm.....Ummm..... Ummm..... Barack... I'll Bite. Explain to me how you grow jobs from "The middle out."
jgoose71 replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Sigh. It means, Grasshopper, that growing it from the top down only benefits the top. Even David Stockman got himself into trouble for honestly admitting that "trickle-down", for the most part.... doesn't. *Sigh* Thank you for telling me what it isn't, but the question is "What it is".... So far we have top down, AKA, "trickle down" where extra money at the top is supposed to be invested in the middle and bottom.... We have from the bottom up where people create new jobs them selves and grow them.... So WTF is the "middle out?" "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Agree and disagree..... Yes, get our troops out of Afghanistan. We got Bin Laden. While the people are wonderful and the culture is rich (I spent several months going form village to village along the Afghan/ Pakistan border) the truth of the matter is we can't help them any more. The government is to corrupt to protect the people. Until the government fixes itself we are pissing into the wind. Afghani's are some of the greatest people I have ever met and there are things about the country that I will never forget. However, there is nothing more that we can to there. No, the people and the culture are not bad. The Taliban influence though has done some real damage to the country. Their Government can't protect them because they are to corrupt. So they are stuck walking the tight rope of "who should I side with" just to keep from getting their own throats cut. I couldn't think if a worse situation to be in. That said, if there is a war to fight now, it's in Pakistan. That is where the Taliban leadership is, and if Afghanistan is to have a fighting chance, the Taliban has to go away. To bad Pakistan doesn't want to work with us..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." As an after thought: I was under the impression we were supposed to be innovators in the "green jobs" industries, but our companies, like Solyndra, are undercut by Chinese manufactures, even with government grants and subsidies.... Still trying to figure out how we grow the economy from the middle out.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. I got that, but unless you are a major corporation that can take advantage of the tax loop holes, or, a major corporation that can manufacture and import your materials really cheap, you are already starting at a major disadvantage. The only way to overcome that advantage is to have a product that isn't competing with anyone else or gain complete control of that product (AKA monopoly. Do you know Microsoft's story and how they earned their billions?). While I'm sure that a few people will be able to do this, we still have 88 million working age people in America that are not working. What do we do for the rest of them? And I'm still not sure what Obama and Biden's plan is for growing the economy from the middle out... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. This is almost too easy. Questions back to you, how big was either Apple or Microsoft when they started? How many people did they employ in their first year? How many do they employ today? Your right!!! All I got to do is invent a product that every one can use (computer OS) and market it unfairly to the point where the government hits me with anti-trust law suits to prevent me from having a monopoly!!!! Golly that was easy! Why didn't I think of that before? Monopolies are so good for making money, as long as you are the one with the monopoly....
