  1. Can you please point out your car so I can key the words "Romney 2012" into the side of it? Free speech right? If you don't think that this would not fall under free speech please explain the difference between defacing one peace of private property over the other.... Other than "well, I agree with this position and not that" or "you can deface someone else's property, but not mine." "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 2. But then it was given back to them and then put on hold until an appeal to the supreme court is heard. I think soon gays will have the right to unite also. I'm sure that gay couples will soon be allowed to provide insurance for each other, get tax breaks, and do all of those things that hetero couples can do. I just don't think that it will be called marriage because there are unique situations that are involved when gays have kids. It needs be be called something else so these situations can be addressed. Also, lets be honest, the only reason this is an issue right now is because of all the legal benefits/ entitlements that our society has developed. That's what the whole marriage thing is about, getting their greedy little hands on them. If you were to go back and talk to people who truly have had their rights stepped on, they would tell people now a days to stop their whining. Or are you just trying to pick a fight because I said I liked puppies in the other thread, especially the cute ones? I'm sure if you were to ask anyone who truly has had their rights squashed or suppressed, you would hear a different story. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 3. Or between form and function. Or between sweet and spicy. Or between science and art. Or between Heaven and Hell. (William Blake) Or between two people of the same sex. (Merriam-Webster) http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marriage Doesn't matter what Merriam-Webster says. Only what the government says because they are the ones enforcing the law. If you want to have fun and see other conflicts see also the differences between the government and the dictionary when talking about assault rifles and also thongs (when defining for obscenity laws). 4. Nobody is promoting inequality for nobody. The LGBT argument is flawed from the get go. The whole argument is that marriage is between a man and a woman. It's not about taking away rights. Gays can have unions, have family's, have tax benefits, what ever. No rights are being taken away. the argument is about a definition. The definition of marriage. A family of wolves is called a pack. A family of geese is called a gaggle. Your argument is "if you don't call a family of geese a pack, you are a bigot." It just doesn't work. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 5. According to this, I also side with Gary Johnson and am libertarian. So who is this Gary Johnson guy, and is he the one who put together this website to gin up votes for himself? 6. Because the MSM isn't in the tank for Obama? And this isn't that old of a talk... I want you to think for a few seconds... If this was credible, why wouldn't the Republicans have even pushed for an investigation years ago? Without a doubt Obama has been the most investigated (and by that I mean by weasels looking for bullshit) President since the founding of the country, but somehow -this- is being held up by the "media?" Gimme a break. They did push for an investigation. But when the democrats have a super majority in the house and senate, a democrat in the white house, and Eric Holder as the attorney general, well, lets face it, it ain't gonna happen. Now a days, all efforts are going into Obamacare... ACORN is kind of old news. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 7. While, yes, they do grow up to be full grown dogs that shit all over the place, don't know if I can follow you on that one.... Oh well, we were so close.... 8. So we are in agreement again!!! We should feel free to have an opinion without government officials coming back on us in reprisal!!! It's amazing what happens when they let adults into the room. 9. Well, there is just not liking the taste of chick-fil-A or just choosing not to eat there because you don't like their opinions or buisness... and and then there is targeting and blocking there business with laws and regulations because you don't like their opinions. Where do you fall? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  10. Great, now if you would, please tell jcalor that I am not a hate filled bigot just because I associate with the tea party. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  11. No, the use of Sharia Law in those instances are acceptable. So it seems we are in agreement. The use of Sharia Law is OK in civil matters amongst Muslims as long as it doesn't conflict with current U.S. laws, Values or the Constitution. Was that difficult? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  12. I think more appropriate examples would be "Is O.K. for one Muslim to cut off the hand of another Muslim if he got caught stealing from him?" Or maybe in a pre-nuptual it states "If the wife is accused of adultery by two males of the husbands family, the husband gets to bury her up to her neck and throw stones at her head until she is dead," is that OK? Both are common practices in sharia law. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 13. What? Did you sleep through "An Inconvenient Truth"?" I know it was labeled fiction, but that didn't stop him from producing it.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 14. I could see how this would be a capital offense in some countries.... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  15. Ban People!!!!!! Without people, there would be no crimes at all!!! "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  16. Can you point out the EXACT "accounting gimmicks" that you are talking about? I absolutely love accounting and would love to discuss about it. Imagine if you wrote this on the UFE... you would get "NC" for lack of proof and unbacked assumptions. Its funny when an unbiased nonpartisan group comes along and says the truth, its now "accounting gimmicks". Cheers!
  17. I think you are close on this one, but this isn't the whole answer. Everyone just has to be aware and willing to pitch in. Lets be honest, since 9/11, there have been several attempt to hijack aircraft, but none have worked. Why? Because we learned that it's acceptable to pitch in and help the flight crew until they can get to the ground. There is never an air marshal when you need one. Yet in any other situation, it's not allowed. Police will arrest you and treat you as bad as the criminal if you step in any other time. Maybe it's the result of all that "Vigilante Justice" that's been plaguing our nation. On navy ships, where there is no one else to help, everyone is a fire fighter in an emergency. Self reliance is the key. I guess we've all just gotten in the habit of waiting for big brother to bail us out. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 18. Didn't we have this discussion already? Some points that are being left out: 1. ACA has a huge tax hike up front before it kicks in. You are taxed on it for 5 years before the benefits kick in. So yes, up to 2022 it's "deficit neutral". After that the deficit continues like a freight train. Accounting gimmicks. 2. When the tax hikes kick in, employers will start firing people to make up the difference. But don't worry, they will have health insurance After the benefits finally kick in. 3. If you don't put your money in a safe haven over seas, you will loose it all to the government. Grandpa and grandma who's only income is capital gains is screwed. Time to go back to work or move in with the kids. (Number 3 really has nothing to do with the topic. Just wanted to through it in. Paul Ryan isn't the only one throwing granny over the cliff...) Edited to add: 4. And the 2022 number is arbitrary. Since Obama Care has caused health care to skyrocket, I would expect the turn around to happen before that.
  19. Bill, I think the point that you are missing is that business, when managed properly is regulated by choice. Yes some business men may slit your throat for a dollar, however, if you don't like dealing with him, you don't have to enter into an agreement and you can just walk away. Government on the other hand, you can't walk away from. Government regulations as we have learned, are so long, ambiguous and encompassing, coupled with the fact that politicians frequently lie about what in them that we are starting to loose track of whats legal and illegal. And if you don't like a regulation, you can't walk away from it. And good luck trying to get it repealed. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 20. No where in the constitution does it say you need to register to vote. But people do. And when I Register my name is Mickey Mouse. Last four of my social is 1-2-3-4. Prove me wrong. 21. I've always cut my pizza using flexalinear shape charge type explosives. It cuts and distributes at the same time....
  22. I'm still trying to figure out what this all has to do with the price of tea in china. If his tax returns show significant over seas accounts, so what? If you had the money and the option to make more, would you? If I had the option I would funnel my money away from government and more towards charitable organizations that are far more effective than a bureaucracy I would.... 23. Well, there seems to be a consensus. There is a line between chanting "We're here and we're queer" and rallying for Prop 8. It's a thin line, but there is a line, say, about the width of a gay man's g-string? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 24. You said I was wrong and then went on to prove my point... As I said, what an assault rifle is doesn't matter. The rules for the ban are based on the liberal definition found in the ban. If during the ban you had an assault rifle that didn't fit the definition, good on you... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 25. Don't be silly. Of course I can define it. You may not like my definition, in fact I'm nearly certain you won't, but I can absolutely make up a definition. I'm pretty sure you won't like it because you didn't like the previous LEGAL definition and tried to reframe it as "Any gun that looks scary", which is a complete untruth. If YOU aren't going to be honest about what is and isn't a legal definition, then why the fuck should anybody try to give you a different one of their own design? Argue you don't like the previous definition; fine. You're entitled to your opinion. However, that doesn't mean the definition didn't exist. You have been wrong on 2 accounts so far: 1. Liberals came up with the definition of an assault rifle several years ago when they enacted the assault rifle ban in 1994. 2. Your definition, as good as it may be, doesn't matter. What matters is the legal definition, which is used to enforce laws. I could give you a run down of the legal definition but "it looks scary" pretty much sums it up.
