Thanks for the heads up. Just wondering, what tipped you off that this was a scam? (looks relativly legit to me....) -

move the bookshelf in front of the door, unplug your fone, and turn off your e-mail. You'll increase your productivity exponentially.

humm, i thought the trashpack was simply that you didn't flake the inside of the canopy. I thought you were always supposed to clear the stabilizers to prevent line burns..??
-
Shouldn't you also clear your stabilizers?

There's also a picture set in the Icarus canopies website. ( http://www.icaruscanopies.aero ) Click on the Safire, then at the bottom of the safire page, there will be a link on packing the safire or something. Oh, and Ask a rigger [url]

Yeah, but you gotta admit, an OCC twin-otter bike would be damn cool

thanks for posting. very interesting info. They did a bit on discovery channel explaining it, but I only caught the last 5 minutes - enought to see the huge-assed dryers they use to dry the parachutes. (they're bigger than my house)

Going from Student Gear to my own gear
MrBrant replied to Mostly_Harmless's topic in Gear and Rigging
It will be funner. (Yes, I made up that word) It will be quite a change (in a good way) going from student gear, to sport gear. Your instruct-er-ators will give you all the info you need. Just remember to be careful. Have fun with your Spectre -
I'm guessing (completly and utterly) that they're worried about the cypres re-calibrating itself to below DZ level, then not firing in time? that doesn't have anythign to do with the arming does it? or am I way off base here?

Skills camp

It's even funner if you do it AT 3-4000 ft.
-
Yeah, even if you must do a 3500 one to get your A, doesn't mean you can't do a few up higher to get a feel for them. Personally, I love endidng the day with a nice relaxing no-stress hop & pop. Where you don't have to work on anything, just get out, and pull. Then ride into the sunset Plus, If it's a cloudy day (like almost every weekend this year ), as long as the clouds are at 2500ft (or higher) - at least I can get a skydive in - even if I don't get the chance to work on any FF skills. Good luck, and have fun

a few years back, in high school - we were building these "robots" for electronics class (yeah - i was a geek. not a nerd - cuz nerds are smart) Anway, my buddy asked me how he shoudl go about putting a square hole in his chassis (read: metal box). I told him to just grab the square drill bit. he spent about an hour looking for it
