classifieds fields to cater to noobies
MrBrant replied to MrBrant's topic in Suggestions and Feedback
Hey there. Love the new classifieds. I accually bought my gear through the classifieds. My suggestion would be to have fields for info for newbies looking for gear. i.e. Shape: Square/Semi-E/eliptical material: F-111/ZP etc. etc. I know when i was shopping for gear, my instructors gave me guidelines (i.e 220sqft, square, ZP) When i started looking, I found it really hard trying to dertermine what kind of gear would fit these guidelines. (size would be in description, but not usually material, or shape). - since I didn't know the difference between a katana, triathalon, or fury. The gear section (which rocks) helped me out alot (and I will admit, I learned quite a bit which was a plus), but it was kind of annoying to have to keep going back to check. If there were fields to fill in when people were making the classifieds (like the new ones recently put in) It might make gear shopping easier for the new guys. Thoughts? -
nah, it's no problem. I've done it You just have to get her parents/guardians to give you written permission to take her over the border, and she is legally in your care/custody for the duration of the trip.

I need some help figuring somethings out
MrBrant replied to royalskydiver's topic in Error and Bug Reports
lol. It's just a note that says u gotz a PM on the board here. Don't reply to that e-mail b/c an automated thingy sent it. Go to the forums, and click on "messages" at the top of the screen to go to your PM inbox -
I saw on the website that there are 2 graphics thingy's to choose from: the raedon 9000 and the 9700. If they are shared graphics, they'll both be shared. If you really need vid editing and fast gaming - keep looking. Or, grab a game (NFSU2, GTA, etc) and ask them if you can install it on their laptop and try it out (if they want your money - they'll let you). See how high you can get the graphics before it starts affecting performance. If the answer is "low" or "medium" keep looking. good luck!

pffff. That's nuttin

sounds pretteh good to me. with that processor though, it'll SUCK batteries. u'll be lucky to get 45 mins tops. Definatly a plug-in-all-the-time-model. Also, if you're gonna be doing video editing get more info on the video card. It may be shared memory (which is CRAP) --- edit: Just checked ur link. It has the P4 mobile processor. This is very good. You're batteries will last alot longer with it. The only downside is that processing power is probably limited while on batteries (at least my AMD mobile is). So you can't play fast games, watch super-awesum-videos, or do hardcore editing. But as soon as u plug 'er in, she's great!! but definatly check out the graphics. go big - for the extra 100 bux to get "better" graphics, its well worth it in the long run. hope this helps

I could probably make one. I've made an altimeter from scratch, unfortunatly due to weather, i was unable to test my latest prototype this season. works great on the plane tho ;) If u just wanted an LED blinker, that should not be a problem... PM let me know if you're interested in some home-made modifications

I've forced peple to open the door of our 182 a few miles early - never been shoved out tho....

yeah winter sucks. We had a couple days last year below -55C with the windchill (that's about -67 F) we usually have at least 5 months where it doesn't get above -20C. (usually around -25 to -40) o well. grab a set of skis, and a snomobile, then dream of next season

yup, that's what did it for me. (just finished progression this year). for those paper-pulls i would always gear up at least a load and a half before i had to. Then, i pulled and pulled and pulled before both of them. (i mean really, people were starting to laugh at me for practicing 50 times on the gound) just remember: ground practice is free!

I just finishd my freefall progression. I loved it. Gives you time to think about every jump, and let your skills sink in - so to speak. Plus, you get more jumps for the money you spend. I started with 5 IAD's, then had first freefall at jump 6. I have just gotten my SOLO liscense here in Canada at jump 17. Although the AFF (or our PFF) might have been a good way to learn quicker, (thus ends up being the same amount of money to get your solo), i got more skydives for my money.
