  1. Now I am really sorry that his holiday got cut short, was looking forward to more jumps and beers with him one day. He was a good bloke. Goodbye Treeboy.
  2. Last year Easter, Renee, Ferry and I got very drunk with an American called Jeff at the Horner. Didn't catch his last name. He was some kind of combat medic specialist, based in Germany at the time. Short, stocky well built guy. Jumped yellow with him. Is this the same Jeff?
  3. You as a low-time skydiver are giving this advice to another low-time skydiver? Jesus, I can just imagine all the chops when all the other newbies reading this decide to try it out. Jaap, I think your intentions are good but maybe you should be a bit more careful with the advice you hand out so freely. This guy is on a Sabre2 loaded at 1.3 - I don't think packing intentional toggle releases and line-twists is a great idea.
  4. Nah man, it was for the PM I sent you Saturday morning. I was hungover and looking to share the pain. The whole house is looking forward to your visit next year.
  5. I knew I made my post in the right forum! Love to stay and chat but I've got to get walking to Hyde Park Corner. How apt that I am leaving here to catch my nearest tube at the other Speaker's Corner.
  6. Last week Thursday I was told to leave work early because of the travel disruptions (I use the Piccadilly line). I'm a self-employed contractor, so had pretty much written off the afternoon's wages. Today I got told that the company I work for is paying me until 6pm of last Thursday. They are doing the same for all non-salaried employees. Man, this is the second American company I've worked with and both have been by far the best employers I've come across. They have also been really accomodating about my lateness this week. I might not care much for the present American administration, but I absolutely enjoy working with American companies. My apologies to JP for misdirected venting on him, friendship is worth more than political differences. Bottom line : I don't like your leader but I certainly like the people.
  7. I don't think the IRA ever pulled off anything on this scale in London. 'firecrackers'? WTF? I don't think you quite appreciate the scale or severity of what happened here today.
  8. I got off Piccaddilly Line at Piccadilly Circus about the time the Russell Square bomb went off (4 stops away). London has been expecting this for a while, but expecting it and dealing with it are two different things. Winning the Olympic bid yesterday must've been icing on the cake during the G8 week for the terrorists.
  9. I think you must be confused Sean, Red Bull wasn't invented yet in 1977.
  10. Any pics of you tossing anybody off?
  11. Trust me it wasn't by choice, I got banned from this forum. I'm not allowed to say by who, but if Kermit had a big fat cousin who wore lycra, smelt of garlic and had an outraaageous accent you'd have a pretty good idea. Will PS I prefer poodles to mooses, they are house-broken and their nails are clipped.
  12. That constitutes a personal attack - on retards.
  13. Smoothly is better than quickly. Don't rush into the position or you might end up frantically trying to claw your way out of shit and/or doing your first aerial (unplanned). That was no fun at all.
  14. What exit point is that? Doesn't look like Norway to me.

    Chris Swales

Came across this article of a BASE jumper who got wounded in Iraq. By all accounts he acquitted himself really well. http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/11931311.htm He comes across as really humble in the interview. Did a search and couldn't find mention of him in the forums. Anyone who knows him please pass along my hopes for a speedy, full recovery. Hope he makes it back to an exit point soon!
  16. No worries Chuck, I've edited appropriately. What I've left is fact and stands. Guess we're even calling each other cunts now!
  17. James, that is Cedric the owner of the Matter company pretending to be his own customers again. He has been bust doing this previously (using usernames rocketfrommars, patblack and jp001). He was caught out via IP address by the moderators and most of his posts/reviews were deleted.

    Legal or illegal?

If you fill in your profile with how many skydives and base jumps you have , what your name is and where you are from you will notice people will get a lot friendlier. The post above proves this. Also, I am a Dutch cheese monkey who likes to write long essays and wear panties. At the moment various groups are trying to open certain sites. If we say online we prefer illegal jumps then that doesn't help. Is that about right Jaap?
  19. Then stop landing in the water.
  20. Hey Vanilla Ice (word!), unless I get your itinerary you'll be on your own next Sunday. Heathrow has four terminals, some details like airline, flight nr, terminal etc. would be nice.
  21. Tom, Tim asked if you can please edit his number out of his post. Apparently he has been getting unwelcome calls from abroad.
  22. LMFAO! Now just remember what gets said about kittens and Dutchmen in PMs stays in PMs! Ek sien uit daarna om 'n sprong te maak met die jong kaaskoppie, hy is 'n baie gesellige kerel.
  23. Wow, very mature. Perhaps if you'd seen sabre210 (Ian) toughing it out hiking out with a fractured ankle you'd think twice. This is a small community, if you were part of it you'd know better. In the meantime maybe you and Jaap can have an extreme essay writing contest.
  24. Did you follow through Sean?
  25. Why not get the PF tracking outfit in the meantime? I am still getting mine dialed in (am averaging mid 80's now), but the forward speed is sick and I am having too much fun with it. I've got about 20 skydives with the tracking outfit and I am not even close to getting full performance from it. The learning part is fun though.
