  8. Is this a result of moving to TF and following the Texas Tom exercise regime?
  9. I apologize for the personal attack Ian. You don't sound at all like Remi.
  10. Ja, he is right. Ian now combines the worst qualities of both countries - arrogant, ignorant and obnoxious. He is even starting to talk like a constipated duck with sinus. I'm sorry, I forgot I was in happyland - what I actually meant to say was that he is 'gorgeous'. Ian, moet my nie bliksem asseblief, ek maak net 'n grappie.

Will the Morpheus web-site address be corrected in the updated article? (www.baserigs.com not www.baserig.com)
  15. Title of your post : England: Worst Crime Rate in World From the article you base this on : England and Wales have the highest crime rate among the world's leading economies Firstly, do you understand that the claim you make in the title of your post is not true? Secondly, the article mentions England and Wales yet you choose to single out England in the title of your post. Why is that? Don't be a hater, nobody likes haters.
  16. As long as you are having a good hair day it doesn't matter what I say. Can't wait for the heliboogie to watch the 'Battle of the Birds'.
  17. Hi James What is the basis for your comparison? Ie how many S3 and V1 flights do you have? If you can break that down further between plane and BASE that would be cool. Thanks! Will PS I understand that James isn't sponsored/employed by either Birdman or Phoenix (despite any allegations I've made to the contrary ).
  18. That is great advice. By co-incidence I was just recently reading your post Preventing and Curing Line Twists. Excellent stuff! The writings of yourself, Bryan Burke (old stuff on rec.), Brian Germaine, Billvon and Bill Booth (with some Tontoisms thrown in for good measure) should be collated and made required reading for all new skydivers. Will
  19. Story here. Climbing a fuck-off big technical mountain and then jumping off it with your wingsuit - cool!
  20. What a fucked up situation. The American troops on the ground don't want to get blown up by a suicide bomber, can you blame them? The locals don't know who to trust, can't blame them for that either. The soldiers involved in this incident reacted correctly. But nothing we say here is going to matter to the boy in this picture : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/picture_gallery/05/middle_east_shooting_in_tal_afar/html/4.stm Take a good look at that scared little boy on the right standing with his back against the wall. He just watched his parents killed. Take a look at him. Yes, the parents should've avoided traveling at night, yes they should've stopped at the check-point. But none of that matters to those kids. Look at those photos again and then try and understand why rhino said : 'Unbelievable for everyone involved. Truly saddening'. You people on both sides of the argument who try to use stuff like this to bang your political drums louder make me sick. Will PS imagine a whuffo criticizing a skydiver's reasons for cutting away, that is what I think when I see some posts criticizing soldiers/police for whatever.
  21. Generally, airing your grievances on the internet is like going on the Jerry Springer show, mostly it just results in mud-slinging. Much better just to talk things over in person or at least on the phone. If you can't settle your differences, well it is not as if you are sharing the same dropzone. If I don't enjoy someone's company I don't spend time in their company, pretty soon I've forgotten them and hopefully vice versa. No drama required. Will
  22. Dude, I can't believe you told them about my super secret alter ego. That is it, the Robin offer is OFF - kindly return the blue and red leotard and find yourself another super hero. Will PS you didn't even mention my biggest super power - speed ironing in the mornings.
  23. Congrats Taya and Tonto, you guys put in the preparation and it paid off. Looks like South African skydivers will be flocking to/at JSC.
  24. There is an Australian BASE web-site with a forum at www.basejump.org Might be good for you to get some feedback regarding costs, training etc from fellow an-tip-oh-dee-yuns (at least those that can read, write and know how to plug in the internet). Will
  25. Hi Mac I've worn the FF2 on about 350 skydives and about 20 BASE jumps (all slider down). It is really strong and durable and does provide a measure of protection (you've seen the video where my poor canopy control in high wind led to a bad landing, was wearing FF2 for that). I fitted a protecting ring for my lens, since this is normally what gets snapped (especially when exiting little Cessnas). For gnarly jumps I usually wear a polycarbonate full-face Mountainbike helmet. IMHO I'm not sure wearing a camera when doing slider down BASE jumps is worth the strain on your neck. Another consideration being riser slap on a side-mount causing off-headings. I've noticed top mount cameras seem to be more popular among experienced BASE camera types for this reason. Also, with the exit altitudes you favour it will probably take you a year to build up 60 seconds worth of freefall footage. Will
