OK thanks, I was quite confused when you said : I was going to write a flippant one-liner but then I realized how ignorant I would come across. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
-
Hehe, I am saving up all my lycra wearing green pig with silly outrageous accent jokes for Eloy. Can't wait to hook up good buddy. Will
-
Lucky? Did you read the following : This guy got into a bad situation but then worked his ass off to get out of it. To call that 'lucky' is insulting. A lot of your one line posts are inane, but this one was simply ridiculous. I don't see luck having anything to do with this situation (maybe the guy in question thinks bad luck gave him the off-heading, or maybe it was a dropped shoulder or wind). Will
-
Nice compliment, means you aren't fat. JK, I'm sure that guy would say the same thing to a native American.
-
James, are you sponsored in any way by Phoenix? Were you a test jumper for the V1? Hell, I am a fan (am collecting my Phoenix tracking outfit at Eloy), but lets just say you seem to be a little biased. Will PS have you got your hair under control yet? For grooming and wieght loss tips ask Glamour Boy.

Your grandparents on both sides? I'm allowed to work in the UK thanks to my ancestry visa (Scottish grandparents). However I'd never call myself Scottish South African. Similarly I've never met any Kiwis or Australians who'd call themselves Irish Australian or Welsh Kiwi. This seems to be mostly an American thing. Will
-
Yep, when my sister and bro-in-law (both South African) have kids the kids will be American and nothing else. When I hear someone describe themselves as 'Something-American' I think 'No, Stupid-Poes'. Hell, apart from the chimp currently in charge I reckon its a great country (been there for nine holidays). Oh, and I work for an American bank here in London and it is great, best employer I've ever had. Will

Then why not take a 3 second slider down delay from the top?
-
If you don't want to answer here a PM will be fine. Are you not concerned about snag factor wearing all your pads exposed like that?
-
I'm sorry I'm not saving lives anymore, but I don't really miss that last job anyway...
-
Godverdomme, kaaskoppie!! I like your description of the video : "i broke a couple off bones but rest pretty ok" Get better soon so I can come visit you and Ferry.

Same here, when I lived in Dublin the Irish American tourists were cause for much amusement for the locals. Their great great great great grandfather had left Ireland during the potato famine, so that made them Irish Americans (come back 170 years later to 'discover their roots'). The locals had a different name for them.
-
Are you not worried about snag factor having all your pads exposed? Nice rigs!

A green goodyear blimp dressed in spandex and reeking of garlic? Will PS if you think the seppos have bad accents wait until you meet/hear Remster - sounds like a very camp Donald Duck...

Fancy a future in politics then? You are right though about him having the right to exercize his right, I was wrong about that. OK, I believe he is wrong to exercize his right to sue in this instance. Phew, life was easier when I was exercizing my right to insult fat green Canadians in the fluff forum.

They might not have known Nac, but it is relevant. He chose to jump that canopy. I don't know whether or not he was setting up for a toggle hook to impress all the thousands of whuffos watching but I do know he chose to jump a Stiletto '120 for that demo.
-
Did you choose to jump a Stiletto '120 for that demo? BPA membership is now over £100 ($190US) annually almost entirely because of the insurance premium going up. Why do you think the insurance premium went up so drastically (over 50%)? Greedy people trying to get rich quick as promised by ambulance chasing legal scumbags. IMHO the UK is now every bit as litigious as the US. He already has been, and if his lawsuit is successful who do you think will be paying in the long run? British dropzones, British skydivers. I don't care who he is suing or who will have to pay out. Fact is if he wins then insurance companies will take note and adjust future policies accordingly - all British skydivers will lose. He did a demo into a stadium in questionable conditions using a Stiletto '120 setting up for a swoop whilst wearing a Santa Claus outfit. Thank goodness he didn't land on any spectators because I believe they would have the right to sue him. Anybody who believes he has the right to sue please let me know before I offer you a ride in my car or make a skydive with you. Will
-
I have no idea. Maybe a physio or doctor who skydives (and understands your condition) could give you some knowledgeable advice. Will
-
I've got the same. I didn't like the idea of the rivets on the back of the plastic pieces pressing against my spine so I cut up some thin high density foam (el cheapo blue camping mattress) and inserted that. Doesn't add bulk but does add some extra cushioning. I cut it a bit long so I can tuck the bottom under my Bomber undershort for extra tailbone protection. Will

I've managed to narrow it down to 4 : 1. Tall and light 2. Small and light 3. Medium and medium 4. Americans

Exactly. On a good day how many times does a paraglider land their canopy?
-
And you learnt this after just three skydives? You slag off skydivers about canopy control, how much do YOU know about CReW and accuracy? If I gave the same attitude to paragliding peeps after the equivalent of just 3 (three) skydives I'm sure they'd tell me where to get off. When I did my first parachute jump in 1993 I really looked up to my instructor. When I did my first bungy jump the same year I really trusted the Kiwi Extreme guys doing the rigging. I think you don't really have a balanced perspective about skydiving or BASE, but are just blindly following the guy who strapped you into the coolest rollercoaster of your life. Oh, and I'd like to see video of your 3 second HH delay at TF. Thanks.

Dunno, stuff he does in the real world (like saving a certain Russian wingsuit flyer from drowning in Norway) counts for more in my book. But yes he does come across as a bit of a Negative Nancy on the internet. As far as this thread, I don't know the guy involved or the full story so can't comment. Maybe everyone else who doesn't know the full story or the people involved shouldn't comment either. Will

Resulting in a subsequent reduced staffing budget and therefore less rangers patrolling parks? I can see how this can be a good thing.
