Jumping an A in daylight and getting spotted isn't ballsy it is stupid. What if the person in the plane wasn't BASE friendly like yourself but decided to report this? There are lots of official types in Florida right now (such as GWB to name one), maybe not the best time to be day-blazing.

I think this is more about you not being happy with the way you are being treated at your DZ than it is about you wanting to BASE jump. There are two sides to every story, however I do understand that getting a public bollocking on a BPA DZ from a military type can rather spoil your weekend. Go to Spain or the states, go have some fun skydiving there without any of the aggro. Maybe you then decide that it isn't a new challenge you need, just that your problem is either your attitude in skydiving or your choice of local dropzone. Will

You with a 10 foot pole? In YOUR dreams...

I believe Remster is refering to the time I went over to his place for dinner. Unfortunately they let me drink a glass of wine with dinner so I was too drunk to drive and had to drink his whiskey and pass out on his couch. Although it is true that I never drank the good stuff (unless Tesco's own brand 6 month matured Skotch whiskey was the good stuff? ). PS JP I gave the left over beers to Mr. B - I can't believe I bought you a case of Stella and you couldn't even finish it in 5 days! Light-weight...

I'm touched, so kind.

Observations on canopy handling at the UK Nationals
skreamer replied to evilivan's topic in Safety and Training
Why apologize for giving good advice? Hell, the advice you gave me recently was sound, my motivations weren't (expect some out of hours calls soon... ). So did you do the BPA thing and give all the offending canopy pilots a public bollocking when they landed? -
This was proven, the IP address taken from the headers of emails sent to me matched the address all the fake accounts were posting from.

He's been at it again. Most of you would've missed it because this time the thread was completely deleted (bust via IP address, again). The fake user account he used this time was flyinnorway. Does it bother anybody else that a gear manufacturer (that advertises on this web-site) has repeatedly made fake reviews and posts posing as his own customers? JP, care to shed some light on this for us? Will

I dunno, that didn't seem to stop us polishing off those bottles of wine and then going back on the Stella....
-
Totally (as understood and agreed via PM), I had just explained the horse arrangement you set up to JP as an example of courteous behaviour by the BASE community which helped to keep the locals happy. Perhaps he misunderstood and is now generalizing about all UK objects, I'll clear things up this evening. Will

You've just got to love American tourists. Glad you survived the walk to the tube station from my place man. I normally have to run through the ghetto to get there with my shoes and wallet. Will PS my house-mates were being 'nice' because you are new, tonight the fun starts...

Walk in the park? The White Rabbit is now known as Biff the Bunny! Made 2 there (one FF, one SL), went to the cheese E the next morning. I checked out the landing area, looked up and down that valley of death and elected not to jump. Got some cool footage of NeilQ jumping it though. I still want to do it, but not just yet - that place is a fucking full-on experience. Will

I dunno, I personally know two BASE jumpers who bought their gear over the net and soloed their first jumps (both now have over 100 BASE jumps). PM me if you'd like to know just how easy it was. When you BASE jump with people they see how you behave when you are sleep deprived, physically exhausted and scared of possible injury and/or arrest (often all at the same time). It is not 'cliquiness' - it is just an understanding that comes from seeing people at their best/worst. Will

OK, then how about this one - how would you feel about an inexperienced wingsuit pilot teaching an inexperienced skydiver to fly a wingsuit? Bad idea?
-
It is all your fault - watching your scrawny chicken legs getting fried on that top rail threw me off completely. Please don't wear shorts again. Ever.
-
I reckon when my time comes I'll have no decision in the matter.

Maybe her HMMWV broke down and she is trying to find a to fix it, in the meantime why don't you post the wet T-shirt pics already...
-
How about posting a pic?

I am sorry about your loss. I've met and jumped with TJ and SteveO but not Nate, from all I'd heard he was a really nice guy. BSBD. Will

sub 250 feet area: flik 293v-tech/covers vs. fox285v-tech/covers
skreamer replied to panavision's topic in Archive
Because extraction will be faster with the lighter canopy, or is inflation faster too? Is it simply the Fox's lower aspect ratio that allows it to sink better than a 4-line Flik? Will -

Has the jump ticket price for the boogie been decided yet? Can I borrow your brush again?

The cost of the health care is not the issue here. As I understand it, the problem is that Mac could get sacked from his job with no compensation because his work reckon he was injured doing something illegal. However according to the police it (trespassing) is a civil offence. I reckon if the solicitor kicks up a big enough fuss at the least the company will make some sort of redundancy settlement. I'll ask mr2mk1g, he is a barrister and should be able to give some better input. Will
