THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION
skreamer replied to PhillyKev's topic in The Bonfire
What are your feelings on Clinton and Kerry? -
BBC : Why the dollar's in decline American manufacturerers must be loving this. Sucks for any Americans who want to take holidays abroad, but then again there aren't many of them.

I have put about 450 jumps on my original Bomber suit. It is still in great condition, all the seams still intact, has stood up to quite a lot of abuse and still looks good. I recently ordered a new suit (wanted 2-piece suit, also trimmer fit). I got measured for the suit by Ryan at the Eloy holiday boogie, so I knew the measurements would be correct. The new suit fits great, exactly what I wanted. There might be cheaper freefly suit manufacturers out there, but I KNOW that my Bomber freefly suits will last and last. The materials used, the stitching (still no loose or broken stitches on my original suit), everything about these suits is quality. You get what you pay for (in this case a damn fine freefly suit). How much did you spend on skydiving last year?
skreamer replied to pccoder's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Same for me, one trip to South Africa, one to Sweden and two to USA - you could say I had a good year. I don't really think one should count the travel and accomodation costs as a skydiving related expense, if you weren't skydiving you would still take those holidays anyway. Will -
And he did it in Russia in November! There are so many stories about the guy, like the time he jumped the Angel Falls with his Stiletto because he had lent his BASE rig to someone else. Definitely the greatest skydiver ever in my book too.

Well, I haven't jumped since last week Sunday. I decided not to drive out tonight since I thought it would be too windy. It wasn't. The boys are now sitting in the pub after they jumped sending me abusive text messages telling me what a soft cunt I am and how much fun they had. Dammit!

Skydivingmovies.com, time to open the floodgates!
skreamer replied to pilotdave's topic in The Bonfire
Nice! One small thing though, it would be nice to see the file sizes alongside the date and reviews. Makes it a bit easier rather than having to go into each file's details. Might save a bit of time for those with limited bandwidth. Otherwise, what I said above - nice! -
Sorry about your loss man, from what you wrote your family and in particular your mom have been through a terrible time. I do hope that with time things get better for you. Regarding the expense of the funeral parlour and moving the body, wouldn't it be easier to have him cremated? I don't know if this is against your beliefs or anything, but would seem to be the cheaper option. My thoughts are with you and your family. Will

I understand that there are quite a few places where cliffs can be jumped legally in your country (not to mention the legal bridge). Maybe a holiday to Utah is in order? Will

Clearly you don't have your facts straight. I've been living here since 1996, I like it here and feel rather safe actually (and I live in one of London's poorest areas). You are trying to pretend that you know what the Brits want, all I'm reading is another thinly disguised right wing diatribe. Life is too short, lose the tunnel vision. Will

When I read this BBC article I had images from 'The Crying Game' and 'Ace Ventura' running through my head. Cracked me up. Funny how after they got £125 000 each (according to a newspaper covering the story) they forgot how outraged they were.. Will

Hey Mac, have you posted this to uk.rec yet? Might be quite a few people lurking or posting there who know Alex. Will

Dear Mr. Losli Unfortunately I've been accepting advice from the Mr. Hookitt above for some time now (unfortunately he had the bad habit of replying to ALL my questions). I now accept that he had no business telling me diddly squat. Even those times he referred me to more experienced riggers he obviously had no idea what he was talking about. Is it too late for me to be saved? Please advise. Will PS I'm sorry about buying the accuracy rig and actually skydiving with it - my bad.

I've done 6 bungy jumps, don't think they would be too much help learning exits - if anything they might be bad since you might get used to compensating for the weight of the rope on a bungy jump launch. Why do some manufacturers use bungy jumps as training? Is that just to help people get over the initial sensory overload of stepping off the edge? Or are they of some help in teaching a head-high exit? (given the weight of the rope as I mentioned above). Will

Thanks for the reply Bill. 8 jumpers out of 672 injured on the mass demo jump. Were the conditions not ideal or is this considered normal for an unusual jump like this (in terms of sheer numbers)? Will

You can see a clip of the pendulator in use on the Team Crank video "Dead Air Dummies".

Which day did she get hurt on? I am only now starting to hear of all the jumpers who got hurt and hospitalized on the 672 person mass jump. There was no mention made of these injuries on the official site or on this web-site. Does anyone have any details on the injuries and condition of all the injured jumpers? Also knowing how many jumpers got hurt would be good too. Just seems weird that it was kept so quiet. I hope they can fix up Kate's shoulder and she makes a complete recovery. Will

Have you ever met any Canadian women? You can't pull much lower than that!

I got the 5th line mod done to my Fox '265 (Vtec no covers, loaded at 0.73:1). Definitely agree with what they say about the trade-off between control range and flare, got dumped on my arse this past Monday. However I really wanted the stronger flare. My first skydiving canopy was a Cruiselite '220, my accuracy rig has a Parafoil '252 in it, landing them is a lot easier (but of course neither of them is vented). I'm glad I did it, but I'll be putting the Fox in my accuracy rig, do some hop n pops and get the flare dialled in. Also, getting the mod done will make your brake settings slightly deeper so that is something to be aware of. (but I only have 23 jumps, so check with a grown-up before believing anything I say). Here's a thought, why not get yourself on the weekend rota at the DZ working every other weekend, matching your wife's schedule. That way you can earn a bit of cash, do your fun jumps yet still be free to spend time with your wife on her free weekends. Maybe a good compromise? I'd also suggest from what you have posted is not the fact that you don't want a regular job, maybe it is just the regular job you have at the moment? How about trying to get a job in a slightly different field that might be more challenging. Then you can still have a fixed income, work at the DZ every other weekend and have a happy marriage. You won't earn much at the DZ but at you will probably earn enough to pay for your FUN jumps. Will

I'm not sure that the infection rate in a highly urbanized area like greater Johannesburg is an accurate indicator for the country as a whole. But still, if the nationwide average is 'only' half that then that is still very disturbing indeed.
