Managed 87 jumps in 9 boogie days (packed myself). Skipped out on all the parties but by all accounts didn't miss too much. This was by far the best of the 3 boogies I've attended. Awesome weather, no queuing for anything, always hot water in the showers. There were hardly any vendors out this year, would've liked to jump some PD demos. Highlight was stumbling my way into sudsyfist and mischo playing guitar New Year's eve. That was a fun time, everybody trying to sing along and mostly failing. Sudsy pretending to be pissed because mischo was playing country on his guitar. The steak night in Tucson was also exceptional - best ribs I've ever eaten. Lowlight was finding out that Kristen no longer works at Skydive Arizona. She is a really nice lady, manifest just won't be the same without her. Couldn't jump much after the boogie because I caught the killer cold. But it was fun just moseying around the DZ, riding the trams and chatting to the locals. Will

GB jumped because UncleCharlie jumped, he loves him. Personally I am only using UncleCharlie to get to Robi - he is my hero. And yes, those conditions were fucked. I shouldn't have jumped, but I am weak.

Don't you worry Jaap, we got your number. Next time bring your rig, it shows intent. We get a lot of tourists here who talk a good BASE jump.

What are you coaching - wingsuit and/or freefly? How does your experience break down jump number wise in these disciplines? What ratings (eg BMI, PFI) do you hold? My apologies for all the questions, but I'd like to get an understanding of your background as a coach.

You know it is amazing how many people 'forgot' to pay their $5 last time round. Greg ended up paying in out of his own pocket. I know he would never mention it, but I find it ridiculous. Bottom line if Greg or Omar jump with you for just the price of a pack job, please remember to pay the $5. It is nothing to you, but it adds up for them and they have more class than to hassle you for it. Sorry for the rant, but this really pissed me off last year - abuse of a really good thing. I paid more than $825 just to fly to TF. If I was doing it now, I'd do the course in Spain. But if money is a big factor then you'll probably find BASE to be the most expensive bargain of your life. Take a camera with you, preferably an SLR. If you get caught then tell them photography is your hobby, you just wanted to take some nice pictures from the roof. Take a video camera too and film as much of the access and exit point as you can.

I haven't been to Airkix yet, paid Bedford a visit today. I've always found 4-way video somewhat boring to watch but today I got to see it 'live'. Holy shit! I can't believe how dangerous that stuff is, it was incredible to watch. There were 2 teams in there, a Danish team and the Bodyflight team. Especially watching the Bodyflight team - their feet never came close to the sides of the tunnel and they were turning points hard and fast! And we couldn't get time because they were fully booked until 5pm. Pretty impressive for a Monday I thought. I have taken long breaks from skydiving, last year I did no skydives, this year I did about 50. I only went there because an American friend wanted to have a look, yet I found myself standing there watching these guys in this monster and in my head I was just doing the maths about how I could budget for a block of time. Also seeing Fabian, Cathy and one of the staff all carving together was impressive. I've done a little time in the Orlando tunnel, but nothing quite prepares you for something this size. That tunnel is a freak of nature and I want some.
