Speaking of crack, next time put on some underwear before modelling your new suit.

Ivan is right, show more respect to Britain's top BASE jumper. http://www.positive-design.co.uk/SBASE/contact.htm

No, these are the good old days and they keep getting better.

Fucking hell, first you take Nortel down then you get fired as a greenie?!?! As for your directions : To Tucson, "take Meranto exit then turn north then turn east". What am I, a fucking homing pigeon with a gyroscope shoved up my ass??? Back to Eloy, "just drive until you see the right exit, it should be obvious". Obvious to who, Marco fucking Polo??? I swear one of these days I'm going to stop being nice to you...

I see fat green French Canadians in lycra. I don't sleep so good no more.... PS your wife looks younger than you really are, you look older than she really is. Tell her I said 'Hi'.

Hi If anybody is driving out to Skydive AZ from Phoenix this coming Saturday evening I'd really appreciate a ride. My flight gets into Sky Harbor at 4PM. Will pay for gas and beer. Thanks!

Wrong, you are counting the Finns in that 30 way. They don't count. Fuck 'em!

For such a short trip the Swiss valley will be a good option (of course now the Scandinavian BASE gods will ask 'Which Swiss valley???' ). Beautiful scenery, variety of exit points, easy hiking, nice accomodation at Horner. From there you can easily visit ITW for a couple days. I'd suggest visiting there over a weekend to make taxi sharing easier (unless you are in a group). Also when you are packing you are only 20m away from good coffee and cold beer which is nice.

Tossed? Yes, magot definitely is a tosser. -
Why don't you keep the helmet inside the stash bag until you are ready to gear up?
-
Good canopy control should be your first layer of armour to prevent landing injuries. If you don't have that the best pads and helmet can do is limit the damage, but it won't keep you safe.

Same VKB guys who are in the Bird-man BASE team announced in July? http://www.bird-man.com/docs/BirdManNews06.pdf

How about in the windtunnel environment? If you jump your suit in a windtunnel you must know instantly how much you suck.

OK, Ray so what do you do when you see person after person landing on the talus or in a tree on the hill after taking a conservative delay? Do you just shrug and ignore them? Try to explain to them that you need to decide early on whether you are going for the main landing area or the helicopter landing area? Explain to them that when they clear the bowl the crosswind will affect their canopy flight? So the locals and the guys like Tracy do this and what happens? More shit canopy control from the same people and another unnecessary talus landing. It went pretty much like this : don't use your rear risers, crab towards the main landing area using your toggles, don't use 45 trick to see where you will land, when you see the hill panic turn and land in the trees. But don't worry if you can't get your canopy back from the tree because a local will go get it for you the next morning while you are sitting in the cafe drinking cappucino. I don't think you quite understand how frustrated the locals there are getting. People are showing up with a DZ skygod attitude and no respect for the locals who try to give them good advice. Non-jumpers at the cafe were taking bets on how many jumpers on a certain load wouldn't make either landing area (two didn't after average delays). The locals don't want to regulate anything, but unless they get proactive soon the authorities might do it for them. I think if the ITW was your local you would be out on the talus by now with your shotgun encouraging the high pullers to fly their canopies to a landing area.

Could someone please drop me a PM with the name of the jumper who wrote that 'How to' article for the Sunday Times. He started jumping summer 2005, first jump off bridge in California, mentored by Mike Muscat, broke his ankle last June on an urban jump. That should narrow it down. Thanks.

"What is this stuff?" "A slip n slide, a really ghetto slip n slide - its gonna work!" Tries to slide crocodile : "Oh man I don't think it is gonna work that well..." That is fucking hilarious!
-
No Faber, it is DTM and sabre210 who have/open all the nice technical urban stuff. I just get to tag along some times.

Add in the pendulum effect on a SL (sometimes you have to launch somewhat aggressively) and if you time it just right you can hook yourself straight in without making a turn.

Fucking hell, have you changed usernames again?? 3fLier to mac266 to base813 to mac You are one schizo muthafucka...

Brilliant - this just cracked me up.

The handle wouldn't be covered only the stowed PC, what would be more worrying would be that the handle of the stowed PC would be flapping about with the bottom flap.

And before - in summer 2001 Chuck gave me plenty advice regarding main selection and canopy control. I wasn't buying one of his sponsor's canopies (never have from either) but the dude helped me out anyway. I'm a cunt but Chuck is one sound monkey.

That Robi sure has big balls.
