Ok so Im a bit lazy but I didnt find the info I was looking for on sony's website. Does anyone have links to sites that might explain the major differences in the PC line of cameras? Starting to get interested and thought I would try to educate myself. If it helps im only looking for fun now, dont think Ill want to try to get paid (tandem, student ect) anytime soon or at all. Im a skydiver and I think most others would agree here. If you have to plan on skydiving down the road to fill in your time than this sport is not for you. After my first tandem I sold the car I was building because I knew I had found my new obsession. No matter what double digit number you use it comes out to a multiple of 9 and all the multiples of 9 are the same symbol (up to 81) after that you cant come up with a higher number. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

Get used to flaring all the way to get every bit of lift out of it. Not just on the safire but on all canopies I see people tuch down long before the canopy wants to give up. Toggle pressure should be light but not the lightest of all canopies but there is no problem on turns or flare whatsoever. The front risers are kinda high. Youll have to pull pretty hard and throw your body around the corner a bit. Not impossibe by any means. The pressure on the safire1 (I think) is a bit lighter than the safire2. I have chest rings and I wear it with about 7 or 8 inches between rings (pretty tight). Even on hop n pops. Open it all the way under canopy though. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

I find the timing harder on my safire2 169 on anything more than 90's. It pulls out really hard and I usually come up high but there is definetly more speed there. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

I put 350 jumps on my safire1 209 (which had 50 on it when I got it) before I replaced the lower control lines. You know when vectran is wearing. Vectran wears much worse than spectra. Personally Vectran breaking is a non issue with me because I keep a close eye on control lines. When they get fuzzy you change them. I would recommend vectran because after 500 jumps (and maybe a a set or 2 of control lines) it will fly and open like new, no degrading performance. i'm 6' and know of plenty of taller people with javelins. No problems. I dont think a javelin is much shorter than many other rigs but check out what works for you. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

even my buddy who had the g3 and g4 said he wasnt happy with the way the rig hung most of the wieght on his shoulders. And to me comfort is not being able to remember wearing a rig until I go to deploy for the last 350 jumps, but thats just me Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
