You cant change people's minds but you can try if yuo like to argue. Polotics arent commonplace at a dz and rightly so cause it would spoil everyones time. Personally i think leftist commie tree hugging anti-everything wackos are the scum of the earth in my non-skydiving life, I make it a point to not get invovled in anyones way of thinking at the dz outside skydiving. If you thought that was good for a laugh you should check out the movie "fandango" with kevin costner. Its a little hard to find but the 90 min movie is worth the 20 min skydiving scene. ( and i use that term loosely!

I've seen static line gear that is definatly unsafe but it doesn't mean it all is. Plus from what i've seen its not that much cheeper. 5 sl jumps then 10 second ff then 15 second ff = a lot of $125 jumps. Edited by johnny1488 on 5/24/01 06:14 PM.

No but I would call you stupid for jumping out of an airplane!! (J/K) I just think we should know all of our equipment inside and out. We shouldnt have a cypres problem from pulling low because we shouldnt pull low. I personaly think it gives you more of a chance in when your in a world of shit. Sorry if i pissed you off emma, you pull your handles you must not be stupid. -

All this aad/cypres arguing is crap. First off parachutist had 2(count em TWO) student deaths listed in a row that had fxc 12000 that failed to do their job. Cypres works end of story. Anyone claiming to have a misfire has been proven wrong by airtec. (check PIA's website for the tech stuff). Put a cypres in your rig. If you dont need it, its not there. If you do, guess what....your alive. Whats your life worth to you anyway. And this crap about getting slammed if you cant steer your reserve, any a-hole saying that doesnt need a rig cause they think they have a better chance of winning a 120 mph head on with a big ass planet! I'm sure this will start a forum opinion war but does anyone have any real world differences between the pd line of reserves and the dash-m series. Personally im looking between the pd176 and dm218. I just want the stronger more reliable reserve. Im not to concerned with flight characteristics as long as it steers and flares. Let the games begin!
