  1. The xfire's that were affected were not built purposely with trim that affected stability. It was a production mistake. Properly built xfire1's are quite stable as are most canopies on the market today. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  2. They might not be the norm but I think I've heard of at least one (often times more) from every sabre2 pilot (and I use that term loosely) on my dz. Did I mention I love my Icarus? Different strokes for different folks. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  3. Everyone step up and slap jerm for not buying beer after his 1000th jump this saturday. I'm sure he'll make good but give him some shit anyway. You stink like whipped cream, man. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  4. Winter landing at the ranch this winter for me Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  5. Nice. Welcome to the wonderful world of forgetting your rig is on while jumping. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  6. and th head gaskets if its a 3.8. Mine and 86 jetta that gets 35+ mpg Past ones included a 72 pontiac ventura and a 74 duster that I got for $100. Ran without oil and antifreeze when I took it home. Quick story, We did a voltage drop test on the starter in class (to see if the voltage from the battery was making it to the starter.) Teach said any more that .5 volts was unacceptable. Mine dropped 3.5 volts. Teach said that cant be right how the hell does this thing start? Compression, what compression? Kim had a killer 68 nova with a straight 6 with 250K on it for 5 years. Miss you girl.( the car) Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  7. Thanks you guys. Glad you took the time to post. As for BoobieCootie, sounds like you know what you're talking about. Know what I should do as a beginner? All those terms are nice, but I can't say I know what they are or how to even start them. Thanks again:) kim Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  8. If you do by some miracle get up a load, have you been practicing your shawanga? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  9. If its raining visit the large carved wooden penis in the woods past the pond. Take a picture of our stonehenge for dz.com. Its our resident mystery. No one seems to know how it got there. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  10. You thinks right. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  11. That is no where close to how a rig is supposed to fit. I would consult a rigger or the manufacturer about the size of your friends rig. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  12. sunday sitflying The bubbles he speaks of are the latest and greatest wind indicator to hit the ranch thanks to Kim. Thanks Drew. Nice highwaters grouper (rtroup) As a side note let it be known grouper isnt in his freefly suit because its coverd in mud from swooping face first into the ditch! Pantoms like a muthafucka! Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  13. Wow. Is that the right sized rig for that person. I sitfly in my odyssey and tighten my cheststrap a lot and it doesnt move 1 inch. Again is this the right sized rig? My handles are always right were I left them, below my pecs on my ribcage. If you leave the chest strap open they would go more under your arms, right? The cut in backpad offers no more of a snag hazard than my open main canopy tray imho. It is extremely comfortable and poses no danger that I can see because as dave said if thats what your worried about, you passed the sign for shit's creek a long time ago. 14. The guy I ordered my odyssey with (when I had 30 or so jumps) Is big into crew and told me it might be a snag point in crew. I dont think anymore than an alti or any other part of the rig but then again Ive never done any real crew. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  15. Well they say on their sight they would set it up for a ring sight or indicator switch, Its along those lines, I would guess. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  16. Could you use laser link with the camera still in there and not removing the padding? Also do you use a wide angle lense? Does it inhibit taking the camera in and out? Thanks for all the info here. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  17. I've been done with mtv and all main stream media for years now but I do like to watch them embarress themselves from time to time Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  18. I heard something on Krock yesterday that they are coming back with "a" headbangers ball. We'll see I guess. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  19. Put here so I can be twice as loud I have about 450 jumps and jump a safire2 169 loaded at 1.36. I think this is too high for you at 93 jumps. The safire is an excelent canopy. The safire doesnt have 2x the glide of the sabre2 but I believe it does have better glide. I base this on my jumps on my buddy's sabre2 170 and my buddy flying mine saying mine glided much more(when you tell it to.) As far as being fully elliptical Icarus builds all their canopies elliptical. Each cell is a different size. This doesnt make it dangerous or aggressive in the safire's case. The safire2 has a very short recovery arc (levels out fast after a turn) and has a very powerful flare with a long control range. Remember if you like the safire and want to get one new you can get ANY size you want for whatever wingloading you want. You will not be disappointed with any Icarus canopy IMHO.
