  1. Elon Musk offers to pay $100 to Wisconsin voters who sign a petition against ‘activist judges’ Every single time the Republicans accuse the Dems of doing something dirty it's because they're actually doing it themselves. It's a principle that never ever fails.

So you have no idea what CBS said about German free speech, then?

Standing against someone who literally tried to overthrow your democracy and is now actively trying to break as many constitutional limits on executive power as possible doesn't need much looking. I guess the reason you don't see it is that you just need someone to serve.

Did you? What did it say, specifically?
  5. That's a great point, just like intervening to stop a street mugging is the same thing as helping a mugger.
  6. This is what I find surprising about the American right, that they are surprised by something that was spelled out in glowing neon letters during the campaign. Trump during the campaign: Says repeatedly he will do something outrageous when in power. Republicans: You libs should stop being so hyperbolic, you’re not supposed to take him literally! Trump in office: Does exact outrageous thing he said he would do. Republicans: If only someone could have warned us this was going to happen!

Which is why I’m pretty sure they didn’t say that. The Republicans did. And it’s obviously not true. JD Vance is a soulless hypocrite. The European country that has done far, far more than any other to crack down on free speech is Hungary. So does JD hold up Orban as a symbol of all that is wrong with European freedom of expression? No, he fucking loves him and wishes he could implement the same style of proto-dictatorship in the USA. Chauvin murdered Floyd. Thats a gimme, since you already know it’s true.
  8. I wish it wasn’t true, but here we are. You’d rather be someone who helps the police murder a guy than be someone who helps expose a crime committed by the police. You’ve been explicitly clear about that. You said you’d help hold Floyd down so that ‘Chauvin could let go’. Two other cops were already helping hold him down and Chauvin didn’t let go, so that’s you lying, isn’t it? Chauvin didn’t let go when Floyd was unconscious, he didn’t let go when Floy was dead. Since you know this is true, the idea that he would have let go of you were there because he’d have recognised your uniquely awesome holdy downy power is a deliberate lie, isn’t it? Why have you chosen to lie about this when you know how awful it makes you look?

No, the Republicans would have you believe that, but it’s not true.
  10. It's been apparent for a while that the new right have no principles, none whatsoever, regarding the proper functioning of government that they won't throw aside in the pursuit of more power to force through their agenda. I saw one comment from either a VOA or USIP employee saying the Doge staffers and Trump apparatchiks who came in were so radical, so partisan and so bent on forcing through their agenda that they can't even comprehend that other people can go and do their jobs with integrity without trying to advantage their 'side' at every step. They just assume the entire system is as corrupt as they are.
  11. Trump: The President just has to think something and it becomes law! Also Trump: He used the wrong kind of pen it doesn't count.
  12. Me neither - I'm pretty sure it's the overt racism that forms the main attraction.
  13. The point that he's a willing follower of a malevolent leader just because he had some bullshit about DEI and the debt thrown at him? I dunno, that woud be a level of self awareness he's never come close to demonstrating before. What makes you think he's changed?
  14. Yeah, just throw some bullshit about DEI and the debt at them and it’s amazing who’ll buy into it.
  15. They also just expelled the South African ambassador (someone who was childhood home was stolen by an unelected racist government) for pointing out the racism of the Maga movement.
  16. Yes, it must be so tiring when true things you did are accurately reported in the press. I can see why that would cause any normal person to go utterly batshit mental.
  17. 'DEI is worse than being a KKK Grand Wizard'. Pure, racist hate. I mean Jesus dude, it's not as if you don't know why you said it. It cannot possibly be a surprise that people take offense at your deliberately offensive statements.
  18. There's a political satirist here that has a theory - the turning point for Musk was the Thailand cave kids saga. Musk has always been unbelievably thin skinned and hates when it is publicly pointed out that he's not the smartest man in the room. Musk said on Twitter (while knowing less than zero about the situation) that he was going to task his engineers with making a submarine to rescue the kids. A Brit who was involved in the rescue politely pointed out that this couldn't possibly work since the cave was so narrow that divers had to take their air tanks off to get through the worst restrictions. So Musk said the guy must be a pedophile because he moved to Thailand. After suffering a tidal wave of online abuse the Brit sued Musk for libel, an absolute slam dunk you would think... and Musk won the case. At that moment he realised he really was rich and powerful enough that he could do and say whatever the fuck he wanted, regardless of any law, and get away with it. That's the theory, anyway.

In doing so, district administrators appear to have inadvertently drummed up division and controversy of their own. Lol at ‘inadvertently’. Anyway, this is all part of the far right shell game. You can’t ask kids not to be racist because that’s pushing an ideology. When the kids grow up and go to college the university can’t make any effort to better think about how to admit a fair proportion of qualified black kids because that’s race based. They can give preferential admission to an unlimited number of alumni kids - who surprise surprise are almost all white - because that’s just fine and is perfectly acceptable in the ‘meritocracy’. Then when those college graduates apply for jobs you can’t give any consideration to whether there are likely to be equally talented minorities graduating from less prestigious colleges, and you can’t do anything to try and stop the racists who were never taught not to be racist from bringing their prejudices into the interview room - because if you did that would literally be worse than burning black people to death. Its all the circle of white supremacist life.

I must have missed the bit at the end of the Peter principle that says ‘and this is what you get with DEI’. Let’s try an experiment - hands up everyone who has ever had a white manager or boss who was incompetent, demoralising or otherwise contributed to suboptimal results. Hey Winsor, is your hand up? Of course it is. So what the fuck are you talking about conflating DEI with the Peter principle? Here’s the thing - without DEI you get more incompetent white male managers because of the inherent assumptions among many upper level managers that the white man is a better choice than the black person or the woman. “We all want a meritocracy, but too often we don’t have them,” Williams says. “There is one group in professional workplaces where over 90% believe they are working in meritocracies – and that’s white men. Every other group has sharply less confidence that they are working in meritocracies because they feel that they are being held to a different standard.” And those people tend to be correct. “We did 22 DEI experiments inside companies,” says Williams. “One company was horrified to find that they were hiring white men who had lower ratings than women and people of colour who weren’t hired.“ https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/13/trump-war-dei-american-straight-white-man-diversity-equity-inclusion

Things is the guy filming and laughing is quite clearly a home grown Aussie bogan so it’s odd that the news stories are all taking the immigration/visa angle.

And yet this is the first time you’ve mentioned it, when it’s actually a faaaaaar bigger thing than DEI. When the SC struck down Harvard’s DEI admissions program (a decision I’m sure you were a huge fan of) they left the preferential donor/alumni admissions door wide open. Result, by getting rid of DEI a bigger proportion of Harvard grads are only there because they’re someone’s grandkid. It’s a subtle thing to get your head around, which is obviously why you missed it. You’d rather use the staggeringly racist blunt instrument of shouting about DRI being worse than the KKK.

You don't contend that. You contend that people who want to discriminate should be allowed to discriminate. That's literally it. You've never expressed any interest in ending discrimination, and you do nothing but viciously attack anyone who does want to. Well, hates DEI and thinks Trump is the best person to be president. That's kind of a pretty big chunk of what MAGA is.

You know that's not true. You're just using it as an excuse to say something staggeringly racist with a fig leaf of deniability. To whit: KKK Wizard: Burns someone alive for being black or consorting with black people. DEI person: Says you can't discard applications from black people without giving them the same consideration as others. Winsor: You DEI pricks should be more like the KKK!
