  1. Frenchie to Lucifer: I will tell you fi ER. You don't know fi ER.
  2. In my experience flat spins are caused by tension. If you get into a spin look at your altimeter to remind yourself that altitude awareness is still paramount, then take a deep breath and relax while exhaling. You may be surprised to find your spin going away.
  3. I think the overwhelming evidence from the last 30 years is that AFF jumpmasters do have the necessary flying skills. The number of fatalities is so low that the only conclusion is that there is not a problem. What is not so clear is whether the people given the ratings have a level of teaching skill that is high enough. The flying habits and technical knowledge of AFF grads are in many cases inadequate IMO.
  4. Just like the Treaty of Non-Aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics from August of 1939? The more trade, the more expensive a war. The corporate lobby will just not stand for it.
  5. I just heard that Frenchy passed away about a week ago from a heart attack at his home in Crossfield, just north of Calgary Alberta. Frenchy was a fixture around the fire at Z-Hills in the 80's and 90's, and hung out later in Lake Wales. I hadn't seen Frenchy for a while but always tried to pay him a visit him in the assisted care facility he lived in when I made it down to Calgary. He was 84. BSBD
  6. Wow. What a bunch of navel gazing. -The rest of the world doesn't see anything unusual about the Prez cheerleading for an American city. -The rest of the world does not see Chicago as one of the worlds more corrupt places, nor does it have a crime rate that even remotely compares with places like Rio. For example the homicide rate last year was 33/100 000 down from 39/ source versus Chicago at 18/100 000 up from 15.6 source.
  7. Well I don't get enough money from doing tandem and in this country no-one has the "right" to any money; it's called capitalism. The reason we are going to hand-cam is because we cannot find enough competent camera flyers to keep the plane moving.
  8. YES! It is not a case of wanting him out first; I am not leaving if he is still in the plane. If the junior jumper drifts over me there is nothing I can do to protect my passenger. I am not putting him or me in that position.
  9. Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy.
  10. STOP! You had me at dicks fuck assholes.
  11. Exactly. World trade has not only made us wealthier, it has made us interdependant to the point that war is unthinkable between a large and growing number of countries.
  12. Well I'm sorry to hear, Andy, that you do have evidence to support your belief. I was going to ask you for a donation to the Christian church I'm starting. Blues, Cliff Christians are all fags. Jesus was a fag.
  13. Lippy you are such a skinny bastard they figures you would need all the fall rate help you could get. Seriously go jump it before you make a decision.
  14. Take that analysis one step further. A large share of the profits are distributed to the sharehiolders whether they are the parent corporation or individual shareholders. What percentage of the equity (and thus dividends) on the NYSE is actually owned by Americans. Conversely what percentage of markets in places like Mumbai and Taipei are owned by Americans or American firms?
  15. The first error was to let a junior jumper exit after them. I would never let someone with 33 jumps exit after me. As far as the TI's competence otherwise, there were certainly errors made, but it sounds like she opened the parachute and kept your friend safe. Skydiving is dangerous. You should know that by now.
  16. I do not consider extra income to be nothing.
  17. This is just the beginning. Wait until the price is quoted in Euros per cubic metre.
  18. It is a tough question. The concept of a multi-racial culture is fairly new. After living in one of the most multi-racial cities in the world (Vancouver) I feel very comfortable in multi racial settings. However the truth is my non-white friends (as opposed to aquaintences) were few and far between. When I explore the differenes between my housemate and myself I find I am torn as to whether our outlook differences are more pronounced because he was born in Africa or because he was raised in France.
  19. What makes you think Cosell was a conservative? I watched him for years and never remember him venturing into the world of politics. The exception was his frequent leadership in the realm of sports broadcasting on things like recognizing Muhammed Ali's legitimate name change. If I was to guess I woul put my money on Cosell being a Dem, but I wouldn't put a lot either way. BTW when Cosell made the monkey comment the RB in question was the same age as one of his grandchildren. He probably called them monkeys as well. When Jesse Jackson and Ali showed up to have Cosell's back the next day it was not to sanctify grovelling and contrition, it was to give testimonial that Cosell had been a friend of equality his entire career. I suspect it will always be with us. My sister thinks the people who live across the river are all crazy (well, they are protestants after all).
  20. I think not. Year in, year out. The 'boys are always there.
  21. I don't understand the question, but who cares anyway.
  22. It should but teachers should be under public written instructions not to coerce participation.
  23. I usually reasure my passengers during the briefing that I hardly ever forget to hook them up.
  24. Is there any way to unprint the money? Yes there is. To increase the money supply (colloquially called "printing money") the US treasury sells bonds to the Federal Reserve banks, which it owns. In order to contract the money supply the treasury buys the bonds back. They can use their cash on hand for that (of which they have none) or they can sell the bonds to the private sector (deficit spending). If the planned spending does not occur the treasury has the option of borrowing less from the private sector (smaller deficit) or borrowing less from the FED (less money "printed"). A tax rebate is unlikely.
