  1. Fuck. I guess I'm a bigot. I think they all should be.
  2. The situation here in Canada is similar. Our commitment ends next year and the gov is pussyfooting around what our role will be. Essentially I think the PM is waiting to see what US will do, mumbling about education and (non-combat) security roles. Yesterday the top General ordered all commanders to begin preparations for a complete pullout saying there is no such thing as a non-combat security role in Afghanistan. The price the PM would pay to recommend extending the mission if US is not going ahead with the surge would be to high; it would cost him his government. He cannot move until Obama does. If the west does not push forward I predict Pakistan will fall. The Taliban will simply move out of P until they are out of ambition, and then move right back in. Just like they did in the other direction seven years ago. The Pakistanis will feel betrayed (rightly so) and make a deal. They really won't have a choice.
  3. The death toll in Alberta is 25 now. It seems higher than in other areas and yes it is usually the lead or second story in the news. Clinics have had to close due to shortages and it is restricted to various tiers of high risk, unless you have connections with the Calgary Flames, then you have already gotten it. As far as the vaccinations being safe? Well the Canadian Medical Association says we should as well as the National Centre for Disease Control. On the other hand some people who think the moon landing was faked think we shouldn't.
  4. OK, now I'm confused. How are the French responsible for this? It's always appropriate to blame the French.
  5. Nonetheless the number of children who are not OK is still seven times as high, or are you saying that the increase in mutation is biased towards the harmless?
  6. Good point. My intent was to debunk Ryoder's comment about judging the actions only. While we are on the subject of intent, it is my understanding of US criminal law that any collateral damage incurred during the commission of a felony is deemed to be intended. This is the rational for charging a bank robber with first degree murder if they run over a pedestrian while fleeing. Given that and Justice Renquist's opinion, does it not follow that if ones motivation is to cause greater harm within the target community that it is therefore deemed to be their intent? How does this differ from terrorism?
  7. So what then is the difference between running a stop sign causing death and a drive by shooting? Google "Involuntary manslaughter" and "First Degree Murder". The difference between them is what you were thinking leading up to and at the time of the offense; that's my point.
  8. UK has never elected a Prime Minister; never. The ruling party does, always has. If you want to live in a republic you can always move to France.
  9. So what then is the difference between running a stop sign causing death and a drive by shooting?
  10. Nothing posted under that screen name today, FWIW. Yup. Pretty sure he is gone.
  11. How many babies were killed in the firebombing of Tokyo?, the nuking of Hiroshima or Nagasaki?
  12. Very nice work. Too bad the Bronco's got their asses handed to them.
  13. I know nothing about Cedartown's student program, but I do know that the owners are hated within the community from one end of the continent to the other over their internet marketing practices. this is a thread about them. You will find people anxious to bash them and their dz wherever you go. My advice is to go visit Opelika and check it out. If you like the vibe then go there. If not then don't. Whatever you do, do not waste your breath defending ASC as it will just ruin your visit; nod your head and say "mmmm?, mmmm." It is not unusual for people to be badmouthing the local competition in our sport (as unprofessional as that is), but the animosity between ASC and virtually all their neighbours is on a whole different level. Stay out of it and enjoy yourself.
  14. He just beamed in a message to the crowd. You know he needs to stop pandering to the Euro-socialists.

  16. I have never jumped in that area and do not know the reputation of most of the DZs in that area, but I do know that there are DZs closer than 230 miles. Skydive Fitzgerald is about 60 miles from where you are. Something for you to consider would be to take a static line program there. You could jump much more frequently over the winter due to decreased travel time, cheaper per jump cost, and increased opportunities to jump on marginal weather days during the winter. If you follow that up with some instruction in the tunnel in Orlando when the kids are at Disneyworld you will be able to learn both good freefall skills and good canopy skills while continuing to feed your addiction. Just a thought.
  17. I could not care less about my mechanic, I just want my car to run. In general people only pay attention to government when it is not working properly. The solution is for the gov to provide for bread and circuses.
  18. Actually I'm starting to think he is just a guy who asked a question and got his back up. Now he has no intention of backing down and has even upped the bravado. I hope so.
  19. So does the other woman have the crown now? Does the first girl have a chance to win it back in a rematch before the Miss Worlds?
  20. Can you elaborate? Is it because of the prejudice of their muslim superiors or because of some cold calculations from the Christian/secular leadership as to their value to the service? This is very intriguing
  21. Yup. The Prime Minister recently admitted that he likes to watch US news for just that reason.
  22. Do us all a favour will you? Show this thread to your family and make them promise not to come on here after you kill yourself. Furthermore make them promise they will not get upset that we are here talking about how you were an arrogant fool just like the other ones who came on here and announced that they were so much better than average that the standards of prudence didn't apply to them. You see we will dredge this thread up when you kill yourself and the way it usually goes is the mother or the sister comes on these forums and calls us a bunch of heartless bastards. Sometimes they threaten to call their senator and shut our sport down, but the common thread is that they are really hurt, so do them the favour and tell them not to come hear after you bounce.
  23. WTF are you on? The military is multidenominational, to include Muslim. Right, but it is not multi-orinatational. What if the army was not multidenominational? What if the rule was you can be a Christian if you want to be, but you are not alowed to parade your faith about because it will disrupt the cohesion of the unit as the athiests in the unit will consider you a superstitious fool and thus undependable. Would the Christians just suck it up and make the sacrifices necessary to serve as Mark suggests gays should today?
  24. I wonder what would happen to military recruiting if "don't ask. don't tell" was applied to Christianity.
  25. Second reading was actually tonight. The motion passed with all members of the Conservatives being supported by several rural members of the Liberals and New Democrat (socialist) Party. All Block Quebecois members voted against the repeal. It is still a long way from law as it now goes to committee where the leadership of the three opposition parties can saddle it with ammendments to make it unpalatable. If it makes it past 3rd reading it will go to the unelected, Liberal dominated Senate. If it dies in Senate it will give the Senate reform crowd a big stick to beat them with. Hard to say which way it will go.
