    Most jumpers are not ready to be TMs when they have 500 jumps. Some are, but not most. Many countries are raising their minimum jump numbers for tandem. There is a reason for that. Do you have a coach 2 yet? If not I would reccomend persuing that first. It will give you experience with people doing the unexpected while you are in the air. If you are a freeflyer it will also give you a bunch more belly exits. If you persue that angle you can also get your PFF rating. I realise that there is more cash in being a TM, but I still think they are better options in your development (as I don't know you, this is a generic view).

    I didn't know Peter was organizing swooping at big sky. Too bad he didn't come up and compete in provincials at Edmonton Skydive centre. The only competition for Sean (everymansaved) was the organizers from Perris (who he beat).

    There is a large contingent of people who like to bash Duel Hawks. I don't particularily feel the need to argue with each and every one of them.

    TK, Nothing you said has any bearing on the appropriateness of a rookie TM taking a very old passenger. Given your decision making process, is it the same for your employee's first paying passenger?

    As an instructor I am always clear with my students that I will not sign off an accuracy requirement if it is achieved by unsafe flying. If you are worried about the conflict you should forget about the accuracy approach; just do it next time. In the situation you described a little brakes applied would ensure that you would remain above the other guy for the rest of his flight. Therefore you could cut in front of him without interfereing with his line.

    My problem is something snapped in my middle finger last night and now the last segment doesn't work any more. it just hangs down. The nerves still work and misinterpret the data; I can clearly feel the flat spot on my coffee cup that does not exist. So my problem is whether I can do anything about this and whether the cure is worth it or not. Edited to add: I am not just old any more. I am now officially old and gnarled.

    This makes it even more insidious. Whenever the legislators decide who gets a pass they inevitably decide for their contributors. A carbon tax (or beter yet a carbon auction) is in fact the only fair way to do it. the problem is it is a very tough sell politically.

    This is a very large question. If everyone starts with zero and has to buy them, that would be a carbon tax. Now no pol wants to be seen advocating that. Besides the major corps have no plans to pay for their credits.

    There is no need to do that as credits will have a known market value. They will not be the new money, they will just cost money. Martin since your allotment of credits will be on a per/unit of time basis you will have to keep your business open in order to keep your allotment coming in. Shorter seasons and shorter work weeks will certainly be an option as you can sell some of the credits and jack up the price of the jumps made with the remainder.

    yup. It started with those fucking liberals back in the 1770s. What were they thinking. We should have remained loyal to the King, and listened to the Conservatives ( Loyalists) who called us all traitors. FINALLY someone with a bit of common sense in this thread.
