and you want these clowns to manage health care??
Andrewwhyte replied to chuckakers's topic in Speakers Corner
if $5000 went to the dealer, where exactly did the other $19,000 go? if it costs $19,000 to hand out $5,000, what are the admin costs of a government/public/consumer option going to be? Well some of it went to the consumers who got the discount. -
Have you ever heard of an indulgence?

FDA new oyster regulation hopefully will save 15 deaths a year

I think this one is stupid as well. The difference is you seem to support them all. That would be a similarity not a difference. -
FAA Medical Certificate Copy Required with TI Renewal

I haven't read the rule amendment, but this is identical to the discussion about the pack job that was extended when the 120 day rule was extended to 180 days. The result was that the new rule did indeed extend previously completed pack jobs. I suspect the new rule on medicals will have the same effect. -
I believe it is a religion. No matter how vociferously the christians bleat about how their ridiculous set of beliefs is different, it is not. If you think christanity is not principally about money you should go to a tent revival.

The state should spare his life regardless of his guilt because taking it will lower the moral fibre of the state.

There has certainly been an increase in red tide in the colder waters up north. I would not be surprised if there is increased contamination in the gulf region over the last 20 years or so. -
Kind of like the cops saying, "Well, we'll get Don Cicci later. Right now we want to focus on Johnny the punk and Joey smalltime."

L. Ron Hubbard's own words indicate that Scientology was set up as a fake religion (cult) to make money. If a person doesn't believe it to be a religion, which clearly the French do not, then there is no 1st Amendment issue in persecuting them. I agree with the French completely on this issue and I think it's a shame this racket wasn't busted up years ago. I feel the same way about the christians.

Who is the "them" referred to? Is it the congress? If it is I would say that the president does not hold an office under "them" and is thus not subject to that clause. Under them, he or she who is in office That makes no sense. "And no person who is holding any office of profit or trust under he or she who is in office, shall, without,...." The "them" must be the Congress. The president is not under anyone. He is under the constitution only.

Once again the French show a certain courage we in the US don't seem to have. How so? The leadership for Scientology are scumbags at best, but if people voluntarily give money to these alien worshiping assholes, how is that fraud? I have much great objections to the way they go after those who leak information than their overall practice of soliciting money from suckers. I don't view them as dramatically different than other religions in that aspect. The attacks on Scientology by European countries troubles me a bit on 1st amendment concerns. Agreed.

Does your DZ give refunds?

This is rediculous. If I make an appointment at the dentist and don't show up they bill me $50.00. If I do show up and the power is out should I expect to pay the 50 bucks? No, and I would not pay it. Charging people for services not rendered is crazy, and probably illegal were it to reach court in most jurisdictions. -

Actually the 82/83 period had worse unemployment although not as sharp a stock market or Real GDP fall. -
Maybe next time you create a poll you try to word the questions neutrally. "Have you been or are you planning to be vaccinated for H1N1?" might be an example.

Would that be true if Airspeed practised 10-way speed 1000 times a year like they do 4-way? If everyone took your advice Larry Hill may tell Craig to go win 10-way. Edited to add: Or do you mean they have a fair chance at silver? -

In the short run it is a bad thing, but in the long run it could lead to a rennaisance in whiskey making as it will increase the "micro-still" business.

I agree they are full of shit, but so are the Christians so what is the difference? Perhaps they should change their name to The Church of Latter day Huguenots.

Amazon you are full of shit. Just because you announce that the two concepts are the same thing doesn't mean they are. Libertarianism is not anarchism. Libertarians do believe there is a place for the starte; specifically to enforce contracts and to prevent the initiation of violence. Your argument is no better than to announce that all muslems are taliban, and then pul out the worst excesses of the taliban as proof that all muslems are evil. Perhaps I can dredge up some of GWBs excesses and put them on you, after all you are an American.

Depends on whether he means more common that it is now, or more common than English. I took it to be the latter.
