Vector II mods to make it freefly friendly?
Andrewwhyte replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in Gear and Rigging
The best thing you can do is convert it to pull out. That, a tight closing loop, and new velcro on the shoulders will make it good for sit-flying. Head down, maybe the velcro just isn't enough. -
How many people have 10 000 jumps or more?

Those are just his tandem numbers. Isn't he a porn star? -
If you have tried to get the toggles out of this guy and he refused, publish his name with a link to his profile. Those who think there is no problem will think no less of him. The rest of us will take note. He, of course will have the opportunity to defend himself on here.

Those pics were so hot.

So is that when your two wives go down on each other and you watch? That would be horrible.

The point is they do advertise themselves as a USPA DZ.

Does anyone question the statistics? It seems like a call to action for atheists/humanists everywhere to spread the good news of logic. Fortunately for us the research also shows that the fertility rate of immigrants tends to fall as they acculturate. http://www.statcan.gc.ca/daily-quotidien/031222/dq031222c-eng.htm

Sure we can. Twenty years ago I didn't think it was possible to test the entire oil industry for drugs, now they do it in the skydiving industry.

What I find curious is that no one talks about it being a state issue. In Canada there is a constant struggle to shift power between local hospital boards and health authorities on one hand, and the provincial governments on the other. The local boards and authorities are more attuned to the particular vagarities of the delivery environment, whereas the province tends to be a little more hard-nosed about costs. NO-ONE wants the feds to run it. If Governor Dean wants this, why doesn't he legislate it for his state?
-
I use it quite a bit. Our provincial skydiving organization uses it for conference calls. Those with shitty internet fall out a lot, but other than that it is like being in the room with them. I have yet to try "skyping out" to a regular phone, or "skyping in" from one. The text based chat functions are quite good as well (as if anyone needs another chat line).

Court: Illegal gun possession 'victimless crime'
Andrewwhyte replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
In Canada we are required to have a license to possess a firearm, do you need one in some states as well? In some states, yes. Long guns or just sidearms? -
I jump a 17 year old Vector II. There is nothing wrong with jumping a rig that old as long as you realize that maintenance on older gear is not optional. The velcro does wear out. On problem I have had is that the hook wears out. You cannot tell this by looking at it, but only by replacing the pile and having it not solve the problem. Replacing the riser cover hook is a complicated and expensive process, but your rigger can just sew a new piece over the old one. Personally I would rather have velcro on my riser covers than the ineffective early Javelin tuck tabs.

That seams to be Bettman's preference. Bettman cares about TV revenue and an Ontario will contribute little to that. They are not opening new markets up there. KC is less certain to succeed, but offers new fans.

Kitchener makes sense to me. London is too far from the Toronto Metropolis. Kitchener is .45 mil, 1/2 hr from London (.45mil), 15 minutes from Guelph (.12mil), and 1/2hr from Hamilton (.6mil). People keep talking about Peterborough. This makes no sense to me, but I am not really not that familliar with the geography around there.
-
Andrew, Given that Bettman said in March that the Coyotes weren't moving, they were going to find new investors..blah, blah.... I'll be surprised if this actually happens. The offer of Balsillie is contingent on the move so if the league doesn't approve it won't happen...but then what will happen to the Coyotes? Will the NHL take over..similar to the Expos/Nationals in baseball? Well, the bankruptcy judge gets a say now. It limits the league's moves somewhat. Remember the NFL told Al Davis he couldn't move the Raiders.

When I did it in Yukon we used a chainsaw.

They just announced on CBC that Phoenix entered chapter 11 today and there is a bid large enough to cover all debts contingent on the team moving to southern Ontario.

Ya, you never see a non-Irishman getting pie-eyed on March 17th.

Where are there pigs in California?

It's a D license from any FAI recognized NAC. Not quite. Both SE and UPT recognize a CSPA C license as being sufficient.

Done it from a KA. Was a borrowed rig and was up to do CRW. The rig's owner tells me on the way up that on the last jump he had a loooong delay before building up enough steam to extract the pin - but he didn't lengthen the closing loop between jumps. So we had someone hold onto the PC and bridle at the bottom left corner of the door and I just dropped out. How tight was it? Was it tight enough to pick up the rig by the bridal? That would be ~20lbs. How fast does a pilot chute have to be travelling to generate 20lbs of resistance?
