If the general liability laws leave the firearm manufacturers vulnerable, isn't the problem with the general laws. Why do gun makers get a special exemption? Doesn't that lead to a regime where large industries are protected from a bad law whereas smaller industries (say parachute manufacturers) are not?

This is just the kind of simpleminded bullshit that makes society's problems so hard to alieviate. Haven't you ever read Malthus? If you feed all the hungry, all you get is more hungry people. Who are the hungry? The ones who are smoking the dope that's who! This group is the source of our criminal population. (Try to keep up with the class.) The more you feed the criminals to the hungry, the more criminals you get.

In many parts of Europe the child of illegals (or even legal guest workers) is not a citizen. In The US today illegals know that even if they have to live their life as illegal, their children get citizenship as long as they are born in the US. Perhaps if people knew that their children were going to never be full members of society, less of them would make the trip. Would this require a constitutional amendment? or just (just) an act of congress?

What the Americans would call misdemeaners. The fine will likely be relatively small, but he will be permanently inadmissable to the US.

wasn't it an April fools joke? -
It has happened a few times, ususally with tiny passengers. Trim's usually ok, but on older canopies for sure. I leave that stuff up to riggerrob.

The most important thing to do when you get into a flat spin is to take a deep breath and relax. It is impossible to micromanage your body into a completely neutral condition; you will always be a little off kilter one way or another. If you let the unbalanced wind fix the problem, it will. If you get upset and tense you will spin like an air hockey puck. Breathe in... Breathe out.

As long as price controls are avoided, the market will provide the necessary rationing. The problem is the polititions will get involved.

US Supreme Court - is it Bound by the World Court?
Andrewwhyte replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you suggesting that if the government of Sudan announces that you have broken their laws that the US government will serve you up without question? If you are arrested in a place, you are subject to their laws. If you leave a place and are subsequently accused of breaking their laws, it is a matter of extradition. This is true internally within the US for non federal crimes. I really don't understand why you wouldn't think it also applies internationally. -
US Supreme Court - is it Bound by the World Court?

The situation in Singapore with the vandal is a prime example of The American Government interfering with the administration of justice in other sovereign states. There are many countries where a foreigner will be treated more harshly than a national by the authorities. It is the job of our representatives to do their best to mitigate this type of injustice. In the case we are discussing however, the little bastard from the US got a milder sentence than his Singaporian buddie. Once the press got ahold of it Clinton succumbed to the pressure and squeezed singapore to further lighten the sentence. Corporal punishment is not in use in the American justice system. The application of corporal punishment by the Singaporians upon an American offender, however, was not extraodinary, nor did it lack evenhandedness. -
US Supreme Court - is it Bound by the World Court?

Yes it does. Extradition treaties also apply when foreigners break the law and flee to either their home or a third country. This is exactly the situation he was referencing. -
Probably got spyware in it too, for use by the authorities or for sale to your wife.

Now I've heard an educated rebuttal.

I procrastinate. When I have things that need to be done, I waste time on DZ.com.

They never give out j-walking tickets in Vancouver and just look at the place: Strippers without gstrings, people smoking marijuana in public, gay marriage. It's the thin edge of the wedge.

It's Californication. -
I think his point was that if all the cars in North America were powered (indirectly) by electrical plants, the peaks would be, relatively speaking, much less than three times baseline.

CBC view on political divisiveness in US media
Andrewwhyte replied to SkyDekker's topic in Speakers Corner
At least left wing Americans don't have to pay taxes to support Foxnews. I, on the other hand, get to pay taxes to support that, Toronto as the centre of the universe, bigotry against the yanks is ok because, well you know, their kind of stunned, Liberal Party of Canada claptrap. The CBC (AKA the Mothercorp) is a disease. -

The US and mexico have an extridition treaty, if it is like Canada it specifically excludes capital murder cases. That is what your government agreed to. I believe you will find extradition treaties with all the civilized countries exclude capital cases. Our supreme court has ruled capital punishment to be cruel and unusual punishment making it unconstitutional for our government to enter an extradition treaty that does not exclude such cases. I know it's frustrating that American laws are not enforced around the world (yet) but your elected officials are working on it.
