MD itself is a kinda citrusy type of soda. Sorta. Code Red which was the first "other" mountain dew and the only other permenant one is a cherry flavored MD. Lime Wire is summer only, with emphasis on orange. Pitch Black is new as of a few weeks and is a take on grape. the other one (Taco Bell only) just sucks. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Baja blast is a Taco Bell only drink, and in this professional Mountain Dew drinker's opinion, it sucks ass! yep also, I voted pitch black because I think its better than the cherry stuff and I felt that I should abstain from vointing for the original because there is NO way that any of the flavors could be better than the original dew. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 100-200 feet is scary dude. I come from the school of the 10 second rule. Provided, there are no obstacles, you leave the toggles alone for the last 10seconds or 100 feet of flight, until it's time to flare. You just won't be able to hold the risers down that long or it will really wear out your arms and you won't gain much more speed after the first few seconds anyways. I won't get into what I am working on in my progression because I'm def. not qualified to explain most of this stuff to another person, but you will figure out real quick that 600ft is quite a bit high for double fronts. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. I'm aware of that I was just answering your post in a literal fashion for the heck of it. And now, I'm looking up a nice rapelling device for my next Mr Bill. There could be some fun in hearing that. The fact of the matter is that people care less about "good" things we do and more about the "bad." ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. UFOs - Yes, sure, in the sense that the government is most likely working on the "next" stealth fighter type project. There is no reason in my mind why they wouldn't be. Aliens - Sure, why? Because there is no good reason not to and I think that its somewhat naive to belive that we have everything out there all too ourselves without some kind of proof. Highly un-likely that any significant number of other intelligent entitys out there is anything at all like our civilization. Space is BIG. Making direct comparisons is just something that humans do to try and be more comfortable with the possibility and is a direct extension of sci-fi movies and T.V. shows. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. No matter how "nice" of a guy you are, there is only so much a person is willing to "put up" with. I think that the problem is that people confuse the "nice" guy with "door matt" too often. Door Matts are desperate and would do anything. Nice Guys will do the things that they would normally do and more often are able to recognize when a person is trying to take advantage of the kindness that they are willing to exhibit to the people around them. It just comes down to what you want and when you want it. If your willing to be someone else to get what you want sooner than you would get it being yourself then thats up to you. Some people just have a hard time doing that. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. My local walmart has a Police Sub-Station in it. The community demanded that after someone came and bought a gun and shot the manager. What a wierd world we live in. Both the guy who shot someone and the community are stupid. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Thats what I gather from this. I would imagine that the engines that they strapped to the wing provided ample power for enough lift to stay at a constant altitude. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 0:5:0 Only 5 jumps due to absolute crap weather on saturday. Sunday was fun though, including a two plane shot sunset load. I don't have a lot of fun jumping alone. Every now and then I think its cool to just go up and float and there are always hop'n'pops which for the most part are solo things but as a general rule of thumb I like jumping with others. I find that I learn a lot more that way and it just is more exhilerating to crank out a cool dive. Even just fun fuck around dives are more fun with someone else. Dunno, just me. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Swooping is taking one last poke at the bear before escaping it's cave - davelepka

Bold: It is common practice. Its more comfortable if the leg strap sits and inch or two forward on your leg so its more of a sitting position. Its not really a concern on landing because if you push your legs straight down for the most part the harness will slip back. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. There are threads on this but it comes down to: Don't do it. The RIG is TSO'd and its probally a major modification. Its nearly the same as taking a permenant marker to it. Most riggers wont touch it after you do it, etc. Search about this. There have been lots of posts. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Za? On my Sabre2 107 and my Katana 97, this is NOT the case. When I'm setting up for a 270 and it looks like I'll be long, I fly in brakes to shorten up the flight. The deeper the brakes, the steeper the glide (even though the hang time is longer). I'm generally flying crosswind or into the wind, though, and land downwind. Brakes + downwind can mean a flatter glide, if the tailwind is fast. I don't really get this. It would seem to me that the glide ratio of the canopy with certain control inputs would have nothing at all to do with what the wind is doing. Your flying in a moving mass of air. If you want to talk glide relative to the ground, I think that is a bit differnt than what glide technically is. It would seem to me that the true glide ratio of the canopy is either more or less with brakes applied not both. If you want to compare it to what is happening on the ground it seems that it is highly dependent on your position and direction (relativly) in a moving mass of air. I still maintain that my canopy flies farther with some level of brakes applied in no wind conditions. Maybe my perception is just wrong, I dont know. I will make a point to research this more for personal knowledge. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. I agree. It takes about as much time to do a 180° turn from 350' on a Sabre as it does from 650' on a Katana. Which gives you an idea of why a canopy with a longer recovery arc is *not* necessarily safer. Less margin for error even though your using more distance. I guess that point doesn't really stick out or make sense intuitivly for a lot of people. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me.
