  1. No, there I've said it. Lemme splain' lucy. d/w leg to base leg to final leg I use my toggles. Double fronts approach@130-100 feet: toggles all the way up, toggles still in hand, two fingers in each front riser dive loops - holding both down for a few secs, 50-60 feet, slowly letting up on the front risers. 15-20, two stage flare with toggles. I hope this is clear enough. Blue Skies! He was addressing the comment that you clarified in what I bolded. In the first post you said you were letting up toggles at 50' which is much different than letting up risers at 50'. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Ok, got this in email from one of the law clerks at the firm I keep the internet working for. I'm glad to see they put it to good use working on cases It was written by more than 1 person and less than 10. What do you think about the authors? Thought it was kinda funny whichever way you look at it. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 5. Is this really true though? I mean for the most part it seems that the more spectator friendly aspects of this sport are swooping and canopy control. The swooping stuff stands the greatest chance to get included in the bigger sports games (olympics, etc) It would seem to me that people like to see the more extreeme go fast, take risks type of behavior related to things like x-games etc. That just seems to me what the public opinion is leaning towards. Not to say its a good thing though. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 7. Hah everyone lands next to the runway and helicopter school by me Our restricted landing area is D lic. Shame is that some people have the old D and those of us who have to wait for the new one can't land there even with more experience. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 15. Yes very true. SDC has pretty much the most progressive canopy progression for students. The training is top notch there though and this makes up for the quicker than normal canopy progression. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 16. Me and a couple of friends saw it at a dome type of IMAX and where we were sitting it was enough in your peripheral vision that it made you feel like you were sorta there sit flying with them. I thought that it was decently cool. I have actually seen it twice. Once for free at Six Flags the second at the IMAX here in town at the museum. I liked it more on the dome. Drags a little at parts but not too much. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 17. Which is the view I get when I check them every time on the plane. It only takes a few seconds to look and make sure everything is routed right. Besides a full gear check on the ground my personal in-plane check includes 3 handles, 2 three rings (including routing), and all three straps for routing. I really don't see a reason not to look at this stuff. The time that it takes is miniscule compared to the time to altitude and the number of problems that you cand find yourself facing if you don't check these things. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 19. The grip that I have on my handle when I throw the PC is enough that if I didn't let go, it wouldn't be pulled out of my hand. I know, I held onto it for 5-8 seconds the first jump I made when switching from ripcord to BOC throw out. That aside, throwing the PC gets it farther from my body and possible things that it can get burbled by or stuck on. Your use of the word pud sounds like your jumping a pull out? Some clarification on that would be great. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. 20. Is the F111 canopy that your flying in good condition? Too many jumps? Ragged out? I watched a person jump a canopy that was the "right" size but old and ragged out for a whole summer and have really crappy landings. Couldn't fit a same sized ZP in the container she had. She then made some jumps on borrowed gear that wasn't so abused. Sold her canopy and container and got something that would hold a ZP canopy that she was comfortable with. If your canopy is in good shape and has decent flight characteristics then this isn't an issue. If its old and abused maybe it is. It seems that if people are telling you that you should start flying something ZP maybe your gear is a bit old? Demoing or borrowing some gear might help you get a better feel for this. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me.
