USUALLY, I'm very arrogant when it comes to my football teams. OU beating my Horns for 5 years in a row and Dallas' 5 losing seasons out of the past 6 has mellowed me. So, I'll lighten up .... Yeah, right. Skins stink! Go Pokes!

10-0 For my address so you can mail me the $20 is located on CONTACT US on my website.

I PRAY redskins are that good at defense. I PRAY Dallas's offense LAST week wasn't a fluke. IMHO Dallas is playing "too close to the vest"

0/0 first quarter. Wanna go TWO jump tickets?

All right! $20 coming your way if the unthinkable happens. I will look for my $20 to be in the mail Tuesday.

I like Mark Brunell. I coached football at St. Jospeh High School back in the late 80s. He was a great QB for us back then. When I lived in Seattle, he was the QB for WA Huskies, loved him then. I spoke with his dad the day he was drafted by the Packers (we thought Dallas was going to take him), loved him when the jags made him their QB. I think he lost his mind when he signed with the redskins. Just think about it makes me want to puke! How bout that ticket? Winner gets a free jump ticket.

Good Gawd, man! You CAN'T be a skins fan! You're way to smart for that. Wann lay odds on the game? Winner buys the other a jump ticket. GO POKES!

No fair picking on Danno. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Ever catch something during a pin check?
StevePhelps replied to Hooknswoop's topic in Safety and Training
No, to something that "could" have been caught by the jumper. Yes, to something that "wasn't" caught by the jumper. His harness release handle was tucked under the webbing. Dude! I only thought that happened when you were trying to screw with a guy going through a Coach or AFFI course! -
One. When I was on a HALO/SCUBA team in SF, that I didn't ets (get out of Army) before I got a chance to go to HALO. I passed SCUBA and became certfied Advanced Open Water, and that has been fun through the years, but I often think what it would have been like if I'd stayed in and gone through HALO back in 1979. Just think of all those years I could have been skydiving

I think it MAY be PS as well, but TWO light sources can create two shadows of one object.

I AM AGNOSTIC AND HAPPY TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

WE don't have to deal with that. Christ said HE would. Matthew 13: 24-30 -

Well, you've been asked many times here on the forums (you double poted) what your intentions are for the pictures. I've PMed you as well. But you've chosen not to anser any queries. This leads me and most others to believe your intentions are less than honorable ... ie 1-800-skyride.

I carefully (with exacto knife) cut the threads that were sewn together on the loop. IF I had to I could resew it together. -
I am not questioning Jesus's life or death. Nor his followers. Hell, I am not even questioning his ressurection. But to read Jpsephus' account, it sounds like he was a little less than non-bias. The only thing that I am questioning is that just because someone THINKS they see something or BELIEVES they see something does not make it true. I just think it is a poor argument. There are better ones to take if you want to try to prove the validity of Christianity. People, en masse, think they see aliens flying in the sky. Does that make it true because they KNOW they saw it? Don't get me wrong, I believe Christianity is a faith issue. I wasn't trying to "argue". I was trying to point out there were some credible facts that "help" my faith along. As far as people seeing and dying for the fact they believed in aliens. I haven't heard of any, but with work and skydiving, I don't get out as much. BTW, Josephus was a Jew, not a Christian. In his eyes, Jesus would have been a heretic. He was DEFINITELY NOT biased for Christ or Christians. He only recorded the "facts" Jesus lived, preached, was crucified, and his followers (he was not one of them) were persecuted for believing he was resurrected. I summise they were willing to die, because they saw him resurrected. I don't think they'd be willing to die for what they knew was a lie if they created the myth that he was alive.
-
Nice story. Where is it from? a Historian? I see a difference though. An unbiased, yes, non believing Historian, Josephus, recorded Jesus lived, taught and was crucified by the Romans. That lends it to fact more than myth. His original followers were martyred, that too is recorded fact by non believing historians. The question that keeps coming up, Would they die for what they KNEW to be a myth or a lie?
-
I'm sorry I'm not communicating very well. For the original 12 (okay, 11 minus Judas) disciples, they KNEW Jesus was either alive or dead. Everyone after his resurrection had to experience it through "faith". But the original 11 KNEW -- he was DEAD or ALIVE. For them, it wasn't a matter of faith, it was FIRST HAND knowledge. They chose to die based on what they KNEW not what they BELIEVED Now to use yor lady of Guadaloupe example. Did they see an image? a mirage? a figment of thieir imagination? Perhaps, but we'll never know. As said earlier, it takes more faith for me to believe they were willing to die for what they THOUGHT They saw, than be willing to die for what the KNEW they SAW FIRSTHAND.
-
Eyewitness accounts are some of the worst forms of evidence.... In a court of law they carry the most weight. Is it REASONABLE they'd be willing to die for what they KNEW to be a lie?
-
You made some very good points...till here. People die ALL THE TIME for stuff that is false. But they believed it to be true. Not saying one way or the other in this post, but that argument has serious flaws. But the ORIGINAL disciples would KNOW Jesus was in the grave or eaten by dogs off the cross as most criminals were. If they KNEW that, why would they die for teaching he was alive? The FIRST disciples had to EXPERIENCE something FIRST HAND that made them believe that his resurrection was true. What was that? I think it was a resurrected Christ.

This is not in response to any one particular post, but a statement in general to many posts. Is the Bible meant to be taken literally? Many will say yes, others such as myself, say, not all the time. Metaphors and hyperboles aside, I believe the Bible does quite well in doing what it should do … point people to Christ as the way of salvation and redemption. I don’t believe (neither do most rabbis) that the Bible is trying to be a geology, science or even a history book. I realize many of my fundamental brothers will disagree with me, perhaps even call me a heretic, but that is their right to believe as such. I desire to give them the right to believe what they want as much as I think non-Christians have their right to believe or not believe. While my faith is personal and somewhat private, I do feel compelled to share the hope I have to those who wanting to hear. As far as Christ or Christianity being a myth … I think for me it would take more faith to believe THAT than to believe what I believe. Plenty of people will die for they THINK to be truth, but seriously, how many people will die for what they KNOW to be a lie? History (apart from the New Testament, like Josephus and others writings) speaks of Jesus of Nazareth and his followers. History (apart from the New Testament, like Josephus and others) tells us he was crucified by the Romans. History (apart from the New Testament, like Josephus and others writings) tell us many of his followers were martyred. All that is considered historically accurate by most historians. Why then would the first disciples be willing to die for something they knew to be a lie (i.e. Jesus’ resurrection)? I don’t see why they would, UNLESS they met the resurrected Christ. Just my $.02 worth.

I had the same problem with a beagle that lived behind our house. I called the cops a couple of times because he would bark insestantly from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Evidently they put him in the house so they could sleep (how nice of them). Repeated calls did little even though the police said they would fine him. I finally confronted him and told him he had to be the rudest neighbor I've ever met to have a dog disturb everyone all day long. Evidently this did the trick as rover has quieted down. 1) talk to them personally 2) call the cops

Maybe an analogy to something else would help. Years ago when I was a lad I qualified to go through Special Forces training. I made it through the Q course. and "earned" the Green Beret. Did I know anything before I took the course? Truthfully, not much. I learned it as I went (both through the course and ESPECIALLY on the A-Team after graduation). Finishing the Q course said I was qualified to be on an A-Team, but I knew my limitaions. However, after time spent on a team I begin to feel I earned the beret I was wearing. Now when it comes to USPA coaching I see similarities. If you meet the requirements to go through the class and work hard at it, you'll probably pass. But now the learning begins. Spend time talking to other coaches and AFF instructors about how to teach better. Know your limitations, and grow as you mature in the sport. As previous posters said, if you wait until you "have no more questions" you'll never get any rating. Good luck, push yourself and exceed your goals!
